  1.

Fuck Yes - THANKS FOR THE DUBLIN CONCERT!

Best news, just made my summer.

    Haha, me too

You seem like a guy who'd know, so which do you think would be the better one to go to?

I'm equally 2 hours away from both

And also, what kinda tickets should I be looking for?

I'm a scrawny 16 year old, so I'd probably get teh shit kicked outta me in the pit...never been to a concert though!

    Thanks

Both if you can afford it. The O2 is a brand new state of the art venue and has received amazing reviews. You should be fine standing, just avoid the pit where you WILL be thrown around like a rag doll.

Belfast might be cheaper to attend.

Yeah my friedn said he'd rather go to Belfast, so we might go there!

Forgive my ignorance, but where is the pit? Ha, i knew..I should probably know these things, but you gotta learn from somewhere!

  3. Were it not for Slash's songs, the place would be half empty as would the setlist. Quit bashing Slash, Axl isn't gonna see your posts and bring you backstage.

And Slash is not going to see your post and circle jerk you backstage. If you can't handle the internet, maybe there's a padded room in your neighborhood you should try to rent.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Best post of the week. The pathetic thing is that there are a couple clowns on here that are hoping just that. They make a post bashing Axl....then are able to go to sleep smiling, as they really believe that either Axl is going to read their comment and get his feelings hurt...or Slash is going to read it, PM them, and start up a friendship. These clowns bash Axl in multiple posts....yet they still follow Axl's every career move! How pathetic is that.

You don't have to agree with... :rofl-lol: Yeah, i've always wondered that, its a bit sad if you ask me!

  4. Just pure speculation, but what if Axl said he'd go along with it, just to get the album and and secure the tour.

Because after the album's out, and the tour secured, if Axl refuses to bring bac kSlash, then they're hardly gonna cancel all?

  5. So, according to that document, Guns had planned Summer dates, yet because it may have affected timing, in regard to the Van Halen tour, they decided to cancel their own tour...yet the van halen tour never happened!!

  6. Chinese Democracy was not only a flop, but it's was riding on years of mystique of a $13 million album that had been marinating for over ten years and hype; the next album will have none of that, and even less "epic" promotion.

The $13 million didn't solely go towards this one album, the money from that was used to record other songs too, ya know?

Yep, back in 2000 Axl told Kurt Loder they were working on 70 or so songs... Granted some of them would not be complete, but you get an idea of the general scale of it. The $13million did not all go to just 14 songs... far from it. My opinion anyway.

Of course not just 14 songs, and i'd guess that a lot of into went it paying musicians/renting studios/instruments that were under utilised

just because the studios/instruments werent being 'utilized' everyday, does not mean they werent being uterlized. if it took Bucket 1 year to write the twat solo, then thats 1 year well spent.

if you want music churned out from a studio that starts at 9am and finishes at 5pm, then theres always pink or rihanna to support

What are you talking about? All I'm saying is there was probably a lot of money wasted and nowhere near 14mil spent on this one album, I don't get where you think I implied that there should've been more music out, I'm incredibly happy with Chinese Democracy, in fact I've listened to it almost everyday since 2008

  8. apart from madagascar/reunion island, i don't see what the big deal is about those other things you noticed. they're hardly eyebrow raisers. really, you ought to get out and smell the daisies between takes 2f85.jpg

Sorry, let's take this into context,

Ok, So you have almost 2,000 posts on a message board,

    I've made little over 200

Yes, it's me who ''ought to get out''

  9. I was just thinking about how there are some cool coincidences to do with the album, and the making of, and I was hoping we could share anything we've heard/found out!!

    Here's a few I can remember

'Oh My God' was the first lyric of Appetite For Destruction-On Jungle, it was also the name of the first released song from the Chinese Democracy Sessions, 'Oh My God'

The album was released on the same date as the last new GN'R album of studio material, The Spaghetti Incident, on 23rd Of November,

Prostitute seems to say 'I Love You' at the beginning, be it in almost unrecognisable form,

In 'Sorry' after the line: You thought they'd make me, behave and submit' a almost whining voice seems to say ''Listen to that'' Or ''Who's laughing now'' *Link contains 20 seconds of guitarless Sorry, which contains the whiny voice, maybe i'm hearing things* http://www.sendspace.com/file/8uslnb

The song Madagascar, seems to be about a reunion, or how Axl has moved on from one, ironically, the island of 'Madagascar' is next to the Island, 'Reunion'

    Keep 'em comin'!!

  10. Wow i didnt know about the Memphis Three, though they didn't do themselves much favours during the trial, it seems.

I do hope they get released.

''I heard Axl's voice, and it was like the past 17 years had never happened. For an hour or so I was 18 years old and free again."

    ^^ thats powerful

  11. Yes. Every album I've listened to since (either old or new) while giving me a refreshing change and an initial buzz has got boring almost immediately after the first listen. Chinese Democracy has set new standards for me. Maybe there is subliminal messages through shredding guitars.

Yeah, i agree, i've don't usually get many albums, but CD has been in heavy rotation since the 22nd of november 2008 since it arrived.

I do sometimes get an album, such as re-listening to The Darkness, Aerosmith, getting into the Ramones, the Clash, even Bumble's album (Normal) but they've had maybe 1 month of straight listening, but i dont get the urge to listen to them that much anymore, where as chinese is always on in the morning while i'm getting dressed, in the car on the way to school, when i feel like shit (Scraped) when i feel great (Scraped) haha and its just a great album.

If everyone's out of the house, its always my first choice as to which album to blast at 30 and Shacklers/Better/Chinese completely kick ass on full volume!!

Perhaps the reason i really lve this album is because its the only album i've grew up waiting for, i'm 16, so in fairness there hasnt been many great albums, but generally i've gone backwards to the old classics, but with chinese, i've waited for 4 years for it, and its almost like 'my coming of age'' album.

Why Scraped should be a single.

Hadn't thought of this Catcher as some kind of 'coming of age' song.

Its funny/kinda stupid, but there's a lot of emotions that i have to imagine where Axl's coming from on the album, but sometimes when i'm listening to the songs, I want to feel those emotions,

Its like, i want to be heartbroken (This I Love) and i want become motivated to do something worthwhile with that feeling (Better) and I want to foil someones plan (Riad :rofl-lol: )

    Weird I know B)

That's interesting. Ian Curtis was said to write lyrics about what was going to happen, like in a controlling way. I'm not sure if I want to feel as bad as This I Love. But I'm almost jealous of someone who could. It's enjoyable in a voyeuristic way.

Ha, yeah, like i suppose TIL has alos affected me morally, I mean, I used to go out with anyone if they were good-looking/fuinny etc.

But now, there has to be a *click* and I have to get THAT feeling with them, although you could put that down to maturity, this album has helped me mature and my views on love etc, as a result, are about the only thing i'm properly proud of of myself.
