Any chance you could post some proper pics of yours?

I love the graphic and '89 date printed on it, my fave tee that was available at the JV pop-ups last year.

Saying that, I seem to remember from earlier discussion this particular tee was actually available at the merch stand during  certain shows of the nuGuns era ?

How do you post a pic on this forum? I can add the pic, see it but when I post it doesn't show up!

Sure. I'll take a pic this evening and post it tomorrow. John Varvatos also has a new GNR tee out of the original GNR Cross on a charcoal body. I don't think it's on their website but I did see it at Nordstroms in Dallas last weekend. I didn't pick it up because I went with a couple of new Rolling Stones tees instead. On a side note I highly recommend all of his rock tees. They fit perfect and the quality is exceptional.

Late answer, just went back in the thread to look for the vest. But yeah I got that one, didn't notice the price tag. Easily my most expensive shirt but the quality is super good and it looks great.

These are available now at most department stores who sell JV. I got mine online from Nordstroms a few months back. If I remember correctly it was on sale for $50. I've also seen it at Dillards.

I appreciate that. I was curious if anyone noticed the security taking them away at the gate or anything. I guess it's going to be hard to wrap a large banner around me.

The sign said Axl mentioned said "Axl will you marry me? P.S. I'm only 18" He got a laugh at of it. He smiled and waved when he saw it.  Shortly thereafter security confiscated it so I don't think they're allowing signs at the shows at least not at this one.

  6. If anything this thread shows promoters are still willing to book GNR because they're profitable. Wether GNR sells 1 ticket or 10,000 they still get paid, that simple. It's the promoters who take all of the risk. They're still booking them that means there's a demand and money to be made.

  7. People are fucking dumb. There's an opening act, it's not GNR coming on two hours late if that two hours includes an opening act. Jesus...

GNR comes on 2 hours after the opening act has ended.

Not on the club dates. It's probably because of the magnitude of the production - pyro, etc.

Dallas, TX was just south of an hour if I remember correctly and Norman, OK was 45 minutes on the dot. I don't remember how long it took at the Chicago UCAP show but I don't remember it being excessive.

  8. I will say this. I've looked everywhere on True Religion's website and I still haven't found those jeans.

I love the jeans Axl wears. I wish I could find a pair like them, but I never can

They're men's Destroyed Joey Super T's in a a medium wash. I actually have a couple pairs of them. The color on the leg had to be was probably added by his stylist...

  9. Doesn't look like anyone has posted about this, but the update from the GNR Facebook page about an hour ago was very interesting...

"Dialing in on 5-11 - who is ready for something that they haven't had yet?"

So 5-11 will be the first show of this tour in Russia, and the "something they haven't had yet" bit implies that a brand new song might be played... Or it could be a reference to Anything Goes, and maybe they're going to play that one instead?

Mods - did a quick sweep of the recent posts and couldn't see anything about this (it was only posted an hour ago by GNR on Facebook), but if this is duplicate news or needs to be merged, then please by all means merge away!

Fingers crossed for some new material this tour!!

No, it's about first time in Russia for Gn'R

    Simple

    They've played Russia before...

  10. Axl looked really healthy. The handlebar isn't as bad in real life. He was laughing and smiling and being playful the whole show.

What was awesome was that the security was shit-talking about Axl the whole night, saying he was gonna be a diva and come on late, and 45 minutes after the first band finished, the houselights went down, and I was like, "Suck it, bitches."

The T-shirt thing happened, but something struck me as weird. The guy said, "If you wear Slash stuff, Axl will personally come down from the stage and he'll kick you out and ruin the night." That sounds to me like they made up the rule themselves. I don't know. They also said no cameras, which we already know isn't an order from the band, and when I asked the guy about it, he said cameras at an Axl Rose show will end in a riot. So I actually do think it's a venue thing.

I think this was the best You're Crasy and This I Love we've seen this tour.

People aren't kidding when they say Axl sounds a lot better when you're actually at the show.

Show review to come. I'm just making comments now. By the way, you people suck. The people standing around me had to be the most annoying people that ever popped out of a uterus.

That's what I've been saying all along. Terminal 5 was proof enough, when Fernando requested we be allowed to take pics the venue security told him they'd still boot people for it. The Ritz fed me the same bullshit at the door, but they were cool about everything inside. These rules wouldn't be selectively enforced if it were a band policy, these venues just try to pin everything on Axl because they think everyone will believe it.

The whole no Slash t-shirt conspiracy might be a Livenation thing. The guy at the Chicago HOB's who was saying no Slash shirts or top hats was wearing a yellow "livenation crew" t shirt, it wasn't the gnr camp who were handing out the vip passes, at least in my experience. This might be livenation instituting this policy at their venues possibly because of prior/trying to prevent issues. Now this did not happen at the Norman Oklahoma show last year and the show was not part of the livenation tour, it was put on by local promoters. In fact it was the only show not promoted by livenation on that tour...

  11. I have only one personal experience with Mr. Stinson.

The day of the Guns N' Roses Allstate Arena show here in Chicago, Tommy played a free, small set at a record store in Wicker Park (Reckless Records) to support his solo album.

When he showed up, before even walking to the back, he stopped to chat with fans and customers in the record store. He was shooting the shit with a lot of people for a long time as he sipped his coffee and had some laughs.

He performed later than expected, largely because he hung out with everybody in the store and perused the shelves some.

He put on a great little set (I recommend One Man Mutiny to anyone, by the way) with his wife doing the backing vocals and a guest band. Afterward, he stuck around to sign records and merch for people. There were Gn'R fans there, Replacements fans and Tommy fans.

I didn't stick around after the show because by this time it was probably around 5:30 or 6 and I wanted to head out to the 'burbs to be closer to the actual Guns show (for dinner and pre-drinking).

This is almost the exact same experience I had with him in Norman, OK. He did a solo show at a local record and was nice and personable.

  12. Question for Dallas residents... How's Deep Ellum these days? Back in the day I had a few tattoos done there and it was a blast but then I heard it kinda went to shit now it's back in an upswing. Thoughts? Reason I ask is I'm looking for a place to take my brother(who's never been to Dallas) to knock back a few beers and watch some football before the show starts. Thanks!

deep ellum is fine these days. you won't have any problems whatsoever.

i've never been to this particular place but it looks promising: http://www.yelp.com/biz/anvil-pub-dallas

Thanks for the insight and the suggestion, I'm going to check out Anvil, looks like a good spot. If you or anyone else wants to meet up before the show let me know and we can make arrangements. My plan is to watch the 1st half of LSU/Alabama then grab a taxi over to the venue. Now bring on Guns!
