  1. Days ago Tim Chester was asking DJ Asba for an interview.

Presumably before then, he'd wrote that article, in which he calls Ashba (among other things) 'loathsome'.

Tim Chester is entitled to his opinion on the gig. I'm entitled to my opinion that he's a slimy, two-faced cunt.

  2. There's a GNR UK Tour 2010 one. That's all I can remember. It had a Union Jack on the back, with "I was there" and the dates.

I presume they didn't sell many of them in Ireland....

  3. Why is it if somebody gives a negative review then they are biased. But if you give a positive review then you are being honest.

    They're not.

However, if someone writes a negative review and says that nobody else enjoyed it (like people have done with Leeds and Belfast), then that's obviously bullshit.

I'm not looking for a Guns love-in, just balance. If you didn't like the show that's cool, but if the majority did then at least make that clear

  4. Everybody who is unhappy should fuck off.

As one of the thousands of unhappy fans who paid €70 to see you perform but "fucked off" home I would like to say this:

You should take your own advice Dizzy.

Talk about taking a badly translated statement out of context....

He was clearly talking about people who feel the need to throw shit.

  5. Shame that a fan site has more haters than fans.

There's a huge amount of people here who won't be happy until Axl retires.

I do think so really. There's the odd few that are like that. Mostly it's people who are huge GNR fans and don't want them to have to put up with the bullshit they've seemingly self-inflicted (to a point) this week.

It's a frustration thing really. To people on here it seems like it would be so easy for GNR to turn up remotely on time and blow a hole in the place, leaving people with nothing but positive things to say. Maybe it isn't that easy in reality, we don't know, but that's the way it comes across. Instead they turn up late, piss everyone off and it's an uphill battle from there.

Anyway, that Mick Wall piece isn't all that bad. Did anyone read the articles he was running for Classic Rock a few months back? They were embarrasing. The guy has a massive hard-on for himself.

  6. He's the last rock star........... who might be the world's worst at public relations.

Really though, Axl is still selling out arena's, the album sold millions and (for better or worse, usually worse) people want to write about him.

I don't agree with all the things he does, who would? I'll never understand the guy either. But hey, in it's own fucked up way, it works.

  7. Tommy has been one of the closest people to Axl for like 15 years.

If this were true, it would not be the first time they've had crossed words, and it won't be the last.

Not everything is so do or die.

  8. It wouldn't change anything if he did.

Ron Wood may be an official member of the Rolling Stones, but he's still expendable. Every band I can think of has one or two members who are irreplaceable, and then just some dudes with instruments. Nobody gives a shit who's on guitar for KISS, or who's on bass for Bon Jovi.

I think quite a few people are pissy about Ace Frehley not being in KISS and Tommy wearing his makeup. But then you'll always get those people...

It's a minority, and certainly hasn't hampered Sonic Boom or the subsequent tour in any way. Similarly, if Bon Jovi ditched Sambora I don't think it would stop them selling out stadiums.

  9. First of all, if anyone does not know that Slash is not in Guns N' Roses, then they wouldn't care enough about Slash or GNR to give a fuck who's up there.

As for Del's thing, if anyone needs to re-connect with the real world it unfortunately seems to be Del. You're making your audience stand in a sweaty arena for hours, making them stay up when they've got work the next morning, and seriously hampering their ability to get home. Meanwhile the people in the fancy dressing rooms, getting massages and a tour bus out of there afterwards are telling them they aren't rock n' roll because they won't stand there and take it.

I love this band, and thankfully the show on this tour I saw them at was amazing. Seriously though, if they continue to go on stage at all hours then there's no defending them. Sorry, but it's true.

People genuinely want to like you, stop making it so hard for them.

  10. You could have rose-tinted glasses on (look, a pun!) and say that at least he came back on, unlike Morrissey.

Some effort wouldn't have been too much trouble though.

All in all, they've no real defence for this one. Dicks throwing bottles take some blame, but it doesn't sound like these issues couldn't have been sorted out for the good of the fans.

  11. :rofl-lol: :rofl-lol: :rofl-lol: :rofl-lol:

Sometimes laugh is about all you can do. Clearly two succesful, uneventful gigs in a row were too much.

That said, there will be at least one (likely many) person who supported this band and Axl through all the shit, who had to leave and didn't see the concert tonight. That's pretty inexcusable.

  12. Okay, if you take Axl out of NuGNR and put Bumblefoot on vocals, at this stage, Lostprophets would be higher on the bill.

And this is coming from a big Guns N' Roses, and Bumblefoot fan. It's just a simple fact. Just because I like this band doesn't mean I have to rape logic.

Eh? You're not raping logic, I just don't get what logic you're using.

If you take Axl out of GNR, they'll fall down the bill to the point of not being on it. If you take Ian Watkins out of Lost Prophets, they will do similar.

I honestly have no idea what this is supposed to prove. Bands are mostly better known than the musicians that play in them? Of course, that's the name above the door.

A fairer comparison would between the individual instrument-playing members of GNR and those of the Lost Prophets. Even then, what does that prove?

Generally I agree with you, I just don't get that particular point. The fact that the name 'Lost Prophets' is more well known that the guitarist in GNR does not make it right for the also completely unknown guitarist in LP to disrespect GNR and it's fans... while going on a rant about how disrespectful Axl is.

  13. If one was reading NME (which changed the writers rating from 8/10 to 6/10 for Reading), Billboard, Spinner, Gigwise, and the 100 other reviews (most of which are just regurgitating a few nasty reviews), one would have thought GNR's performance at Leeds was the worst show in the history of rock n' roll. It's so sad that the media is slandering the bands performance last night--from all 1st hand accounts, it was incredible! Amazing how ridiculous the media is, and how easily they all seem to be brainwashed into writing the same thing. Most of the writers reviewing Leeds keep repeating the report that "most of the crowd left during GNR", but from all accounts on the ground and pictures, it was actually the highest attended show of the weekend at Leeds and completely packed. The media, and these other corporate rock bands dissing GNR, are total frauds and pretenders!

Agreed. A quick look around the various festival forums shows that the GNR were almost universally liked at Leeds. Yet, if you read the press they were apparently the worlds shittest band with a tiny crowd. Meanwhile Arcade Fire had about five people watching them headline and got booed when mentioned on Sunday, no-one mentions anything about it.

I've no problem if reviewers don't like GNR, but for fucks sake give them some credit in the fact that they pleased the majority.

  14. Too funny. If a reviewer writes a bad review - then they are biased and just have a grudge against Axl. If another band comments negatively - they aren't allowed because they are the worst band that ever lived. So basically, unless you say something 100 percent positive about Axl - you just have a grudge, you are biased, and ou don't know shit about music, and if you are in a band then your band sucks.

It's a fair point, which is why I made it clear that I actually like his band.

Like I said though, I think it's pretty disrespectful of him to call the band a joke. He wouldn't even dream of going up to any of those guys and saying that to them.

But we all "love" Axl because he is not afraid to speak his mind......but this guy is villified for speaking his mind? If this same guy had said that axl was awesome and gnr was the best band ever, would all the forum members still be saying they were a shit band? No. They'd be talking about what a great up and coming band they are.

    .

I just think its funny. I've been a diehard axl fan since 1987. I've had a thousand arguements on this forum with axlhaters, I've always defended axl and what he does. BUT axl is a big boy, when he screws up, its OK to call him on it. And its hilarious to watch some of these people defend axl no matter what he does.

I agree with all of that.

I've no issue at all with him thinking that about Axl, I don't really care. All I thought was that it was hypocritical of that guy to call out Axl for being disrespectful to bands and fans, when he was clearly disrespectful to GNR and their fans at the end.

    All that being said....

Lostprophets are bigger than every member of NuGnR excluding Axl, whether you like them or not.

Comparing members of a band to a band isn't a great comparison though. Infact I'm not entirely sure what point you are making. Lost Prophets are bigger than any member of NuGNR, Mike Lewis is not.

  16. It's pretty rich of him to call Axl for disrespecting bands and fans, when he's calling the band a joke. The guys in GnR are more talented and dedicated to their fans than he ever will be. Who does he think drew the people to that day in the first place?

I like the Lost Prophets (FWIW I thought they were good), and everyone is entitled to their opinion about Axl. Fuck him for calling a set of the hardest working guys going a 'joke' though.

  17. Melvin Benn is a decent bloke and I think there's been a bit of mis-communication going on. He doesn't really deserve any shit from Axl, as entertaining as that was last night.

Colin Murray made a bit of a dick of himself though. Trying to get Benn to say that Axl's behaviour would lead to higher ticket prices for fans, and essentially calling Benn a liar because he didn't toe the media line about the shows being a disaster/everyone leaving ect.

I like Colin aswell, but he let his own opinions get in the way of actual reporting there.
