  1. Axl was always shown as a villain by the media! FACT

And rightfully so. Were Slash or Izzy responsible for the lyrics to the song "One in a Million" ?

I'm sure that Axl Rose will pretend in his next message that those lyrics IN FACT have been written by Slash, because Slash is evil and he was trying to take over GNR...

Give it a rest. That has nothing to do with any of what this thread is about. Quit whining.

    Ali

Hahaha. Didn't Axl Rose say yesterday that My World was on UYI because Slash and Duff liked it ?

Boys and girls: without Slash and Duff, My World wouldn't have been possible. And we are supposed to believe that ?

    Please, give me a break.

Axl Rose put My World on UYI because HE liked it, not because somebody else liked it. The guy is constantly trying to find scapegoats for his own mistakes and that's really disgusting.

Did he ever say he didn't like it? No

He said he didn't put it on there without any authorization, against the rest of the band's wishes as Slash claims

Slash has already proven to be full of shit, without Axl saying anything. Just read how many times he's completely changed his story about certain events. Of course, your type will never believe it, but it doesn't really matter. You choose to believe a hardcore compulsive liar who has invalidated his own stories with his own words. No surprise though

  2. Seriously, tell me what's so good about this song, or better yet why it's better than what we've heard from Chin-dem.

Because it's fuckin metal, brah! If it ain't fuckin metal, it fuckin sucks!

  3. That song almost gave me a headache, it was that bad.

I'm sorry Barbie, you were not supposed to listen to it.

    it's utter shit.

The doctor's reaction at your moment of birth.

These new Metallica songs sound like a pale imitation of their earlier stuff. Pretty much every song on the last Megadeth album crushes this. Dave Mustaine's incessant bitching aside he gains more credibility with each Metallica release

Being a big fan of both bands, all I have to say is: NO. Have you really listened to United Abomminations?

And these songs all sound flat, no texture at all

Funny, my same reaction to UA, everything after Gears of War sounds like a mindless shreddingfest to me.

I was talking about the production not the songwriting. The production, mix, mastering, and sound of drums on all these new Metallica tracks has been inexcusably bad for a band with their type of resources, just like St. Anger. And at least the lyrics were actually about something, rather than just shouting out random phrases that sound "bad ass" and "apocalyptic"

If you want to talk shoddy songwriting look at the current Metallica single.

Also I don't see the point in joining a GnR forum to kiss up to Metallica and talk trash about Axl but that's just me. Axl is not trying to "out heavy" Metallica or make a metal album so why would he be "scared" of Metallica or this song?

Yep, and the riffs on 90% of the album are better than this. Plus the drums didn't sound like such shit, and the production was better. And these songs all sound flat, no texture at all

  6. People would probably care about their new album at least as much if not more because they wouldn't have released a string of mediocre albums capped off with a terrible one.

Let's face it, people go to see Metallica's shows for the old material, and people buy their new music because of the name brand more than the quality

If Metallica had been on hiatus and Death Magnetic was their first album in 17 years then people as in casual fans and listeners probably would be anticipating it more eagerly. Their hardcore fans would be excited regardless. But their commercial peak was with Black and public interest in their new releases has eroded with each album because, frankly, they haven't been that good
