I really like the Jerry Lee Lewis style piano. Sounds really fun and loose. This song isn't a world beater but I really like it. Quite looking forward to hearing the rest of their album.
Love it, for the simple reason that it's a good fun and honest "rock n roll" song.
sounds like the stooges, lewis, the stones, with a bit of early elvis. I hope the rest of the album follows in the same direction.
didnt expect this at all, sounds nothing like oasis.

doesnt matter how anyone chooses to spin it, this is the most blatant act of stealing, ever.
it puts a huge cloud of doubt over any artistic credibility the band has ever had.
terrific talented musicians yes.
as artists they are fucking shit, at least give credit to what you've stolen.
anyway, for me, they'll now go down as quite a good covers band.
-
Exposed. Awful stealing, and an awful band for not even giving credit to the artists they've so blatantly stolen from, and people think Oasis are bad for this, not on this level. LOL.
part 1part 2part 3 is there also but these are more than enough.
Shameful.

Agree about jaggers vocals.
You hear his vocals on tracks like Let It Loose, and you ask yourself for more and more and more.
Still though Jagger had fantastic vocal range.
Listen to:
As Tears Go Bye
Let It Loose
Hand of Fate
great examples of his range.

Terrible, trite, boring albums.
'Stones peak: '66-'69.
Disagree entirely.
Goats Head Soup - Easily the stone's dirtiest sleaziest and most decadent album, and despite this it still has some heart wrenching ballads.
It's Only Rock N Roll - Solid Album, Time Waits for no one is the stones exploring new sonic territory, a masterpiece. If you can't rock me, It's only rock n roll and luxury are also great great songs.
Black and Blue - Their most underrated album. FACT. Hand of Fate is arguably their greatest ever song.
For me, the stones were untouchable between 1968 - 1981.

This guy isn't the best frontman I've ever seen in the history of music.
are you trying to be funny?
either that, or you know nothing of rock n roll.
-
Shit Horse.
Tell me this guy isnt the best frontman you've ever seen in the history of music.
Spread the word, and let's hope these guys get signed.

Our Kid vs a load of reporters
who does this loser think he is??
he was one of the most famous fashion models of the 90's
clearly you know very little.

Thank You for the good times. The Best band of the last 20 years, a nice emotional video. Enjoy.
-
I expect Liams album to be good, and noel's album to be great. Wonder if he'll rope in tons of guest stars.

'New' as in just released?
R.
New as in, recently surfaced. Knebworth 1996.
3 million people in Britain alone applied for tickets, that's 5 percent of the entire population.

can it even be disputed, that second video is quite new, and is one of the most mindblowing performances I've ever seen.
God I miss those days.

nice moment of closure for Oasis.
liam at his legendary best, tossing the award to a member of the crowd, and thanking Bonehead, Guigsy and Alan, an obvious dig at Noel.
Oasis Just won the best album of the last 30 years at this years 30'th anniversary of The Brit Awards.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-J6YSqHTs2c
The 10 biggest selling albums of the last 30 years were compiled, and then public voted for the best one.
-
For me Oasis lost it when Bonehead left.
Without a shadow of a doubt THE greatest named band member ever.
Although Gas Panic and Stop Cryin Your Heart Out are two of their best tunes.
bonehead is a legend.
a us reporter:
why are you called bonehead?
"it is derived from bone part heademus, a name handed down to me via an ancient roman link"
:rofl-lol: :rofl-lol: :rofl-lol:
watch this especially the end bit LOL

great quote here from the legendary Mark E Smith, I agree with him apart from the beatles-type tunes part.
The interesting thing about being in a band is that a lot of people who want to get up and go on stage are quite reserved in normal circumstances; but part of them needs to be seen. So they join a band with another three or four people with the same unspoken problem. But inside there's a lot of bile. In A way they resent the man at the front. You only have to look at Oasis. I've never really liked Noel Gallagher. Liam's alright, I like him. I feel sorry for him actually - it's always our kid this and our kid that, always his fault. I'd hate to have a brother like Noel. What's he doing? Liam is Oasis - he's handsome, he's a good front man, great voice. What does Noel do except write Beatles-type tunes? I've met him a couple of times and you feel like saying 'shut up!" I think he's a bit jealous of liam - very catholic, that. Liam's done a lot more for them than he's been credited for.
Sorry mate, but whoever that guy is he knows fuck all about Oasis in my opinion. A fan will tell you Liams a bit of a wanker and doesn't have much of a voice these days, whereas Noel has always written great tunes that don't sound like The Beatles, has a good voice and is sound.
no, I think he has a point, a lot of people fell in love with oasis because of liam's voice and looks.

It amazes me how a band as good as the strokes arent more recognised in the US.
The US should be proud to have a band like the strokes.
HUGELY influential band that came a long at just the right time, they single handedly changed the way people dressed. And without them the likes of Kings Of Leon, Killers, etc wouldnt even exist. In England there was a huge change in fashion and sound when IS THIS IT was released. What a truly great album.
Im not saying their music was anything new, but the sheer force of the strokes cannot be denied, Their sound destroyed nu-metal and rap/rock.
None of that is true

I remember hearing "Last Night" on the radio for the first time back in '01 and thinking, "Wow! Real rock is finally back." But you're right, they never really took off in the U.S. but they may be the most influential rock band of the decade.
Nope

They're like the fathers of modern indie/hipster, but not as annoying as their offspring.
Probably my favourite rock band of the '00s despite a lackluster third album.
Nope
You are an idiot, and you know nothing of the UK music market, now GTFO.

Thoughts?
IMO this only shows the unique greatness of Liam Gallagher's voice.
You can be amazing technically but it's all about the soul.
there is none of that here.
-
The Strokes.
no one comes close.
-
wow, what a ridiculously fun tune.
cant wait for the album.
Julian Casablancas is cool as fuck.
Hope the album leaks soon!

Exile Edges it for me.

I was reading a paper today, and there was an idiot writer saying definitely maybe lacked energy, and he was glad Oasis split up. He then went on to babble on about how all oasis songs are rip offs.
seriously is the whole "oasis rip other people's songs" the most boring and tiresome criticism in music history? I honestly think it might be.
Anybody else think Kanye West is the black bastard stepbrother of the Gallagher brothers from Oasis?
