Well in fairness Axl said its a song he was able to nail a couple times in rehearsals but is really difficult so maybe he got a bit off last night. I haven't heard it yet but I'm sure it's still good

Oh I'm sure people will still like it, it's not bad by any means just sounded a tad more forced, again not having ago at him for it as its completely understandable given the song but yeah, mainly the second verse I noticed.

I went and checked a few of the comments after reading your post - just reading some of those comments, it seems very obvious that many of those anti- delusional haters are Nirvana/Grunge loving anti-Axl delusional haters who have been hating him for way over 20 years now .

I made the mistake of reading some comments over at blabbermouth when they were showing clips from the recent shows.  The amount of drive by shit posts .  One post was calling Axl a fat princess or something along those lines because he didn't "suffer for his art" and stand during the show lol

I have to wonder though if a lot of these haters are just doing it because it's Axl, like, if Axl or his past behaviour wasn't really known would they have the same reaction?

I really don't get the "scream" criticism. What the fuck do they think Bon and Brian were doing on 80% or more of the studio vocals for AC/DC back in the day? Screaming their asses off, yet now that's a criticism of Axl for doing EXACTLY what those guys did. That's some bullshit fanboy loyalty right there. Thunderstruck studio version is literally 100% screaming by Brian. And Brian's screams were AMAZING. Rose was very loyal to that in his performance.

I really don't get it either and it pisses me off that they banding together and using it as a huge negative against Axl.

I think it's a case of they just don't like the sound of Axls screams compared to Brians (or admit that he actually sounded good) which fair enough, but like you said Axl was just trying to do the songs justice by doing what Brian did years ago.

Honestly I don't think his voice is any better than it's been all the time this year. It's just that these kind of screaming vocals suit his voice perfectly. He sounded just as good in GNR when he was screaming. But when he has to sing SCOM-type vocals, that's when he starts to sound a bit weak.

But anyway this is cool as hell! I hope he uses this kind of a screaming voice on the next album a lot. Also, Perfect Crime would probably suit his current voice very well.

rock & roll thunder was great and he wasn't doing "screaming" vocals

  5. Just listened to for those about to rock and I'm really surprised he had that much rasp left for the end of the show, those wails were terrific.

I know some people will still bitch that it's not Brian and fair enough but even if you're not a Axl/DC fan you can't deny the the effort he's putting into this, it's insane.

Now he just needs to not destroy his voice and carry on with this enthusiasm for the gnr side of things.

  6. There's very brief moments where the rasp goes in that vid but fucking hell, there are other parts where he sounds vintage as fuck.

-edit- listened few more times now, not even sure if the rasp goes at all, I thought it did for a moment.

Overall this is fantastic. After the last few years I never thought he'd sound this good again
