  1. As Russ pointed out, a younger Axl made it clear who he was inspired by. in terms of Chinese Democacy however, he's been very reluctant to label anybody an influence. The only person publicly acknowledged by others as having a huge effect on Axl's mindset is Trent Reznor (though Axl himself would later pour scorn on that idea).

At the start of the century I'd speculate that Axl was interested The Prodigy, Manson, NIN, Korn - that type of style. That has definitely changed radically though.

you're speaking of influences....they differ from idols

  2. People left and right mentioning shit like Crue and Skid and the guy who mentions U2 gets the "go fuck yourself?" :rofl-lol:

Some things just suck so bad that the only proper response is "go fuck yourself". U2 and Robin Fink are 2 of those things. :shrugs:

anyone who thinks "angel of harlem" is a bad song dreams of sucking the balls of eskimos

    but that's just my opinion

I might have a rebuttal if I had any clue what you were talking about. Probably not though, because you're entitled to your opinion. :shrugs:

i'll...talk...real...slow....so...you...can...understand....."angel of harlem" ...is...a...U2.....song...a...band....you...don''t...seem...to...appreciate....fuck it, figure the rest out yourself

Nowadays? I could name 50 or 60 artists better than nuGuns. 87-93 era? None.

Really? 50-60 huh? Pretty sure I couldn't name 50-60 bands or artists in general off the top of my head.
50-60 artists that are better than GNR in its current state? I honestly don't think that'd be too hard.

anyone could name 50 artists they prefer over any band you state as well

  5. Jeff: Nothing ever changes, man. Fifty years from now we're all gonna be dead. And there will be another group of people standing here drinking beer, eating pizza, bitching about the price of Oreos and they'll have no idea we were ever here and fifty years after those suckers will be dust and bones and there'll be all these generations of suckers, all trying to figure out what the fuck they're doing on this fucking planet and it'll all be full of shit. It's all so fucking futile.

Tim: If it's all so fucking futile, what the fuck are you so fucking upset about, fuckhead?

    suburbia

  6. - i believe somewhere there is a techno-influenced version of chinese democracy with a different tracklist and what i currently own is record company acceptable. but i still like it.

    - izzy leaving the band had a far worse impact than slash

    - the worst thing about steven adler getting kicked out of the bandd was matt sorums drum solo

    - the only reason my favorite rock band got so huge in the first place was because a bunch of teenage girls were fingerering themselves to Scom.

    - my world is great
