  1. Very cool thread! It was nice reading all the stories, thanks to all for sharing.

By the way, I keep reading about how nice Axl is when you meet him in person, and that a lot of people seem surprised by this. Really? Why is it surprising? Because he's known to have a temper? I'm sure that's the way it goes: If you treat him nicely, he will return the favor. However, if you are being disrespectful, he won't be impressed and will react accordingly. Pretty simple! That's the way most of us behave anyway. I know he's famous, but he's also a human being. ;)

  2. Mustache nonsense: Really? That's what you write about?

    :rofl-lol:

Another moron indeed. Here's another article about Axl's tweets. Sorry if it has been posted before:

    Welcome to the mumbo-jumbo

Axl Rose; 'I work hard, it's good for ya n' I smell better than u!'

    Vanessa Farquharson, National Post

    Published: Thursday, February 18, 2010

Guns N' Roses front man Axl Rose has Twittered up a storm once again, breaking the suggested 140-character limit yesterday with an epic 778-word tweet in which he hires a new manager, denies banning any Slash hats or T-shirts at a Regina concert and suggests hard-core fans disappointed by a lack of surprise gigs should chill out and have a beer.

Rose has been an active online scribe for some time now, posting his first lengthy and defensive rant back in December 2008, on the Guns N' Roses message board; much like his current posts, it featured many emoticons, abbreviations and use of all-caps.

Then, last month -- as the newest incarnation of Guns N' Roses prepared to embark on its first Canadian tour in nearly two decades, there was a misinterpretation of Twitter posts between Rose and Slash, the band's original lead guitarist, who now churns out solo albums.

When Slash wrote that he was looking into organizing a fundraiser concert for Haiti, Rose assumed he wanted a band reunion and wrote back, "Pretty low n' selfish usin' the devastation in Haiti 2 start (false) reunion rumors."

His most recent Twitter appearance tackles critics who reported that Rose was late coming onstage for a recent show in New York City.

"Nope, Nopity, Nope!!" says Rose. "1: 30am on time! U got played!! ... We didn't perform for the press or their deadlines other than that they were there."

He later addresses requests on behalf of devoted fans for surprise concerts, telling them, "if ur complainin' n' u drink beer, today I recommend a Lucky or perhaps a Red Stripe."

Finally, Rose decides to reply to some Internet rumours that he tends to sweat excessively during his live performances.

"I sweat nonsense: On ur mama!" he says. "Really? That's what u write about? ... I work hard, it's good for ya n' I smell better than u!!"

Over the past two decades, Rose has remained firmly in place as Guns N' Roses' lead singer while burning through 18 other band members (including a guitarist with the moniker Buckethead). The group recently wrapped the Canadian leg of their tour.

  3. My God I'm loving this. I didn't expect to have such a long message from Axl to read today! To quote Forrest Gump: "Being a GNR fan is like a box of chocolate. You never know what you're gonna get!" :rofl-lol:

! I mean, Axl really addressed everything he? It shows how much he is aware of everything being discussed about him, even the ridiculous "he sweats too much" comments from those TMZ idiots. I love his answer on that one, well said!!!

  4. Where's the facepalm emoticon when you need it? :P

Who said that the media didn't care about Axl anymore, he? When it gets to a point that they talk about him just because he's sweating... Mmmmm... :rofl-lol:

  5. Oh my God... Not again. It seems to me that some people are not happy if they don't have something to complain about. Whatever Axl does or says, it's never good enough for you, he? Then you wonder why he comes on the board and defends himself after reading all this bullshit. He's in the middle of a big tour that he really seems to enjoy, he sounds better than ever, communicates with his fans, etc, but some people complain because he played two secret gigs before the South American tour??!!! Wow...

  6. Great find indeed! I love the part in Axl's dressing room, especially when he says that he could not watch their show while working out cause he was laughing lol I can always count on you guys to post the coolest videos on the board.

  7. Yes, happy belated 48th birthday to the greatest rock singer & frontman ever! I wish you love, happiness and good health. I've been a GNR fan for 18 years and seeing you in Ottawa a week ago was awesome. I can't find words strong enough to describe how I felt that night. I was blown away by such a great performance. Thank you for this amazing show, for all the great music and for simply being you. Hope to see you again! Take care.

  8. Hum, thanks for the article but it's not a very good review indeed. I translated myself the part about GNR if some of you are interested:

We all know that Axl Rose has never been the punctual type. During the current GNR tour, Montreal had to wait a little hour before the singer finally took the stage. Ottawa? Two hours. Québec? 1 h 55 minutes, at the Coliseum.

Yes, you have to be a patient fan, S&M or extremely loyal in order to appreciate a Guns N' Roses show. You also have to be forehanded: the crew kept throwing a football balloon in order to pass the time. In the crowd, people kept playing video games on their iPhones, and drinking one more beer...

Officially, the American band was supposed to take the stage at 9:20 p.m., or realistically at 10:20 p.m. So at 10:45 p.m., the crowd started screaming and doing the wave thing. In vain. At 11:05 p.m., people started booing. The consolation? A big reward to this long wait: A three-hour show, as it was the case in most concerts from this tour. There was a crowd of 6500 fans, according to the promoter, all on the same time zone as Axl Rose.

6500 people, it's 2500 less than the last time the band played here. Maybe the fact that the General Admission was not even half full wasn't motivating enough for the excentric singer. The band finally started the show with his sing "Chinese Democracy" at 11:15 p.m., with lots of pyro and special effects.

Because of this gazette's deadline, it is impossible for me to give you a full review of the show in this newspaper today. You will have to surf the Arts section in order to read it.

Then he basically bashed Sebastian Bach as hard as he could, and said that Danko Jones was amazing.
