  1. first off, your link is crap (it just sends us to google).

second, your username is debatable on the statement it makes.

third, doubt most of the lazy folks (like me) aren't watching it.

Yes it sends you to google, the first link will take you there (notice how I typed the title to it)

I don't wonder about my username.

That's fine if your lazy and don't want to watch it. The reason I posted it was because it gave meaning to the message in Use Your Illusions. I never got it like that before. It gave me a look at the vulnerable state Axl was in... & The Axl reference is early on. Peace

  2. If anyone wants to watch it, an amazing reference to the lyrics of Locomotive is used as an illustration of the toll illusions have on people in this sermon here (titled Part 3- Siamese Scarecrows).

It's actually pretty good and funny, the pastor is a cool cat. Won't ruin the suprise for ya with the role Axl has in it, I bet the attendance that morning was a little suprised themselves.

  3. Its all lawyers anyway Axl will likely never have to actually be there, relax!

Kudos once again to Axl for standing for what is right! I agree with this lawsuit, it's one thing for certain people to use music but to sell it with Slash and a GN'R tune mass marketing? No way

What the heck is RIGHT to you!? Living in complete hatred and animosity toward a single man whose been doing nothing but livin his life and moving on!? Good grief. If Axl shot Slash in the head out of cold blood, you would be clapping your hands wouldn't you?

  4. geez why Larry? the only thing going for him is his mass media coverage. He's a crap talk show host when it comes down to it.. barely does his homework & has accumulated some embarrasing faulties over the years. Let Axl do what he wants with the interviewer of his choice for ultimate results.

Like Prince wisely chose Tavis Smiley to interview him.. he spoke about things NO other person has been able to get out of him in all his years in the business. When Ted Bundy chose James Dobson to talk with during his last days in prison, he made statements no other interviewer would have given him the time for. 2 extreme characters, but you get the point.

  5. Do you think Axl is still the best frontman around? I honestly don't think anybody can touch Axl. Being a frontman seems like a lost art at this point. It's sure going to suck when he retires.

He doesn't come close to Prince's enchanting bad self. Nor has he taken care of his body the way he has.

  6. Met Ron a few times and he's always cranking jokes while drinking his Diet Coke ;)

    Dude those weren't jokes.

With the amount of time I've spent on this forum, it's absolutely astonishing to me the way people are SO religious with with the life of Axl Rose and Guns N' Roses - people who don't even care for you! - yet don't even care to invest a speck of their time to learn about the Man who gave his life on the cross for us to to spare us an eternal life of torment.

What meaning is GNR to have when the day comes you die?

Axl'n comp ain't commin with you after the grave.

Bumble (and Prince now i come to think of it  ) totally gets this. B)

  7. Most of the interview is standard like "How does the tour feel", "How is DJ', "How do you play with 3 guitarists".

But at the end of the interview are two interesting questions and two interesting answers...

Mushie: So, we can’t really end an interview about Guns N’ Roses without speaking of Axl. For me, he is God! How is life with Axl? Is he as moody as the old members say?

Bumblefoot: I’ve got some questions for you, sir. If Axl is God to you, does that mean when you die Axl will greet you at the pearly gates? Or will some other God be there and turn you away for not accepting *him* as your Lord and Savior? What if Axl’s still here when you die? Will you be greeted by GNR management instead? What if we’re in-between managers? It’s happened, could be a long wait. What happens when Axl hits the afterlife? Will ‘matter Axl’ be greeted by ‘anti-matter Axl’ and all of creation will implode? And how does Chuck Norris fit into all of this? I’ve had a lot of fun times hangin’ with Axl over the years, I’d rather recall people at their best, not their worst. Actually I can be pretty fucking moody…

    WAKE UP CALL

  8. Keep the faith man, small cell is difficult indeed but my dad was diagnosed with 3 months to live and made it for 16, my mom similar. She got treatments as opposed to pop who had brain tumors, he just went on for a long time. She, though, had full remission that lasted about 6 months before the return. The issue becomes quality of life and feeling sicker from the chemo. My heart goes out to you bro, really does, and my only advice is the power of prayer can be shocking. If nothing else getting closer to God now is a good idea all around as our time here is a mere blink of an eye, better things ahead, hard as that may be to fathom. Just keep the faith and as you can see many here care. To paraphrase Johnny Ramone before passing he said something like "Being rich in life is measured by the friends you had, that's why I was wealthy".

Peace to you, and the guys and gals here saying don't give up are right, anything is possible as I said above.

Best piece of wisdom on this thread as of yet.

  9. Do you think Axl just didn't give a fuck and had a weird wardrobe or did he just start wearing Under Armour before it was cool, cause I see this look everywhere now....well not the half jersey

    600--axl_rose_shorts.jpg

Back then it worked & he looked kick ass. These days (too many doughnuts perhaps) it would be not so good.

Can you imagine, the 2010 Axl walking on stage wearing a crop top and swimming trunks :D

:vomit: that visual was uncalled for

  10. If anyone's judgemental enough to the point where a album cover of individual stylized art deprives you from enjoying genuine music straight from the producer, instrumentalist, and lyricist Prince is, then it's one sad colossal loss. There's only a handful of people alive on this earth with that kind of blood.

With that said. I'm totally siked B) He looked pretty sharp recieving his lifetime achievement awards on BET last night aswell

  11. WTF??? Why the hell don't you want Izzy back? :fuckyou:

Guns N' Roses - Izzy = Guns N' Roses without a heart. Simple as that.

yeah well bucket has a stainless steel robot heart and thats infinitely better. it wont quit and or rust.

that is quite right. no way around it. just quite right.

Someone with a broadly connective soul is way more impactful than a anti-morale machine. In an business where it's vital to latch onto the public's emotions, that is. Hasn't history proved this already?

  12. Yess it's super exciting of him to pull out a song for the fans

I like it alot, it has traces of 1999 and Rasberry Beret- but I felt like he could have done more with it

The prominence of the guitar throughout it sealed the deal for me though B)

He's going to be featured on Jonathan Ross's last night show aswell in a few months.

  13. I'd think that part of the reason you don't hear songs like Coma and Civil War is due to the vocal strain of the songs. Those beat the shit out of Axl 20 years ago. That also ties into why each guy gets his own extended solo song so as to give Axl time to recover.

I used to kind of buy into that, but when you see Myles playing with Slash recently hopping from song to song with no breaks or solos (except for one) singing CW, NIghtrain, SCOM, PC and other vocally demanding songs it tells me maybe there is more Axl should be doing as a vocalist to keep his voice in shape if he's needing breaks and oxygen that much just to get through the show. They played 3 days in a row last weekend and he sounded as good the 3rd day (on an afternoon after a night show) as the Friday show, so there must be things you can do as a singer to work on your technique to avoid some of the problems Axl seems to have maintaining his voice.

Then again Axl is nearly 10 years older then Myles...

but still, you have to sing properly for your vocal chords to sustain longevity

Singers like Prince and Bono have lungs set for life- predominate wailers/screamers like Axl and Roger Daltry can only go so far

  14. Nothing but positives eh?

So how about the negative of only selling 10,000 copies?

It would sell more than that. Axl's name actually carries a lot of weight in the music industry and having an album with his name on it would sell pretty well considering.

Would it sell more compared to an album with 'Guns N Roses' on it? Of course not. But solo albums never do better than the band's albums anyway.

    So Axl has two choices.

Sell under the Guns N' Roses name and make money or sell under the Axl Rose name and make less money.

More like sell under the GNR name and be decieving to the originating fans or sell under his name and be more truthful about the matter

..obviously he wouldn't have kept the name if it didn't mean loosing a ton of cash. we all know his main priority. it was with money that with his last effort tried to bribe Slash into staying, i remember reading from his book.

I agree that Guns should have stayed blues based. It was the origin of their success- all the way from WTTJ to November Rain. What's rock n roll without blues?

  15. Of course I'd take it. The opportunity to tour and record with Guns N' Roses? Why would I not? Oh, right. A brigade of internet haters.

a load of haters in general.

Your moral high ground is pretty steep for a rock and roll band.

yeah the moral doesn't tend to get in the way of playing good music in my case

  16. I don't think any musician at all is going to consider the "legacy" or any bullshit. That kind of talk is for the fans. It would all depend on the context, what was going on in your own career, what kind of money and exposure GNR could offer you, etc.

maybe for any other band, but this is Guns N' Roses- a band every rock musician has acknowledged with wonder for reasons unneccessary to be stated

fan talk? what else is there that matters? if it wasn't for fans no band would be employed. what will go down in history is all that matters and will be judged apon. in the context of present state of GNR, it would only be a selfish move to accept a role in that band imo

Granted the opportunity to become a hired hand of NuGNR (whether your a guitarrist, drummer, bassist ect) -would you dismiss the legacy for your personal benefit; fame&fortune? Or would you take into consideration the broader picture of what a successful GNR took to be #1 and respectfully turn down the offer? What would you do.

Are you kidding? What other band would you get to play guitar solos, some of the best rock songs that people have a connection to, get paid to travel and meet people, (not to mention play with some of the most talented musicians.)

You would be a fool to turn it down, especially if you are a full time musician struggling to make it, face it, theres not a big demand for rock music anymore and if you believe you can turn down gnr because you want to make your own legacy as a musician, forget it.

There are VERY few full time musicians living comfortably.

    Good point
