  1. We all know 2014 means 2018 at best ......c'mon now.......this band has lost its purpose and integretty

Nothing on CD touches the brilliance of the Illusions------

Great live shows still----but thats it

Jon is everything that Axl wanted to be: A relevant music in his 50s playing to stadiums worldwide, making donations and helping the people, and hanging out with the likes of Bono, Clinton and Obama.

Is this sarcasm ? I hope so-----Nothing you said bj stands for is close to what ROCK N ROLL is all about------- bj is where he is cause he is smart and has a pretty face------IMHO the only thing well he does is act

on a sidenote---I just saw the bon jovi guitar player play live on daytime tv with his new band.........and they sucked big time.......had to change the channel it was so bad

  4. Where's the AFD remaster?

Mobile Fidelity cut a mastering of Appetite that was pretty good, but not enough of a difference in sound to make it a make or break when matched against the standard Barry Diament mastered CD.

In all honestly Appetite is a great sounding record that doesn't even need a remaster. If it was really well done than it would be cool but unfortunately a lot of modern remasters just pile on the compression and high-end to give it the false impression of detail that can be harsh to listen to when you crank it up. And god forbid it has a lot of clipping as well

i agree alot of these albums that are being remastered today dont need it. all they do is compress the shit out of it and ruin the album. the one album that should be remastered is born again by black sabbath but they cant because they lost the master tapes

Born Again---thank you----one of the most killer and underated Sabbath records ever-----!!!!!!!!

  5. The '98 remasters are utter garbage, loud, compressed pieces of shit. They were the first set of CDs to fill my Maiden collection of course, since they're the easiest to pick up. Recently I've just started collecting the Japanese 1st pressings. In the case of Maiden, the Japanese 1st pressings were copied directly from the master tapes. I recently did a comparison of all CD versions of SSOASS and the Japanese 1st pressing was audibly better than even the Capitol or EMI 1st pressings. They're also quite valuable too - some of the 80's albums go for more than $100 on eBay!

I know--just popped 50 bucks for killers 1st press BT------powerslave is going for 125 !!!!!------who would have ever thought !!!! Many people traded original pressings for remasters that blow--

  6. After getting the enhanced Maiden remasters from the first 6 albums last week------ they are horrible. Comparing the Castle 2 disk, the later enhanced remasters, and the original Capital US versions------the Capital originals are far superior and sound the most like the original vinyls. Luckily I was able to cop the first 6 Capital originals for around 7 bucks each here in Chicago at Reckless Records. I also ordered from ebay-- the "Black Triangle" EMI Toshiba Japanese pressed Killers CD -- to see if there is a difference. I here the BT's are the best -----

  7. I have been so looking forward to the new Rush and Smashing Pumpkins.......New Pumpkins is better than anything since Mellon Collie..... IMHO.......Rush is killer and their most progressive since the early days IMHO. I am really surprised at how good the Pumpkins cd is (streaming for free now). thoughts ?

  8. I think they should say a few words----like how the idiotic hall of fame inducted Blondie and Madonna and the mighty girl of rock Bonnie Raitt before Kiss and Rush and the rest of the true rock in roll bands deserving....what a sham.....I hope nobody plays from GNR and Axl walks onstage and gives everyone a big classic and deserving------ F**K OFF !!!! with his middle finger!.......Garden Of Eden BABY !!!!!!!------Not a problem you can stop---ITS ROCK IN ROLL......IMHO...peace

  9. He's not gonna cancel any shows and take time off, but it's interesting he went out of his way to Tweet that. Maybe he was hearing shit about how he sounded on certain songs in Chicago? But anyway, he just had a whole month off, so if he's sick it's just bad timing. He'll just grind through it and be fine in a few weeks.

    Thanks ---I agree

  10. Didn't think "The Man" ever got this sick. I was wrong. I have seen GNR 7 times since 1992. He was clearly sick listening to the feed. I feel a little ashamed since I dogged the mix----but ya know what ? If the show was cancelled------He would have got so much shit----Even though the sound was bad I would have never missed it for the world-----wish all the negative comments would focus on our main man who stepped up to the plate and sent none of us home that night before a 3 hour show

  11. I have seen at least 50 shows at HOB Chicago----This was the worst sounding and mixed show I ever saw there for the most part. I could barely hear Axl at all until the last 45 minutes or so. The solos were great but at times too quiet. I really think the guys behind the board or somebody screwed this up. Hard to hit notes when you can't hear yourself maybe---maybe 3 guitars in this little venue was too much. The show did have many killer moments but I thought the Allstate show here last November was far better. KILLER SHOW !! These guys are an arena band . Still I'm glad I was there and I don't blame GNR for the crappy sound and mix on various songs. I also just watched some of the live feed and it is the opposite of how the venue sounded---His vocals are too high in that mix----go figure --- thanks for coming to Chicago GNR-----most fans leaving were really happy with the show
