The Unforgiven lll starts out with a piano balled of the exact music for the classic movie The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. It is the music played on acoustic guitar before the final gun battle scene. Hope they gave Ennio Morricone some music credit on the album---TGTBATU is a killer movie and sountrack---

The first album Gish---- A brilliant masterpiece with influences from Rush, Pink Floyd, Zep, Cheap Trick, and My Bloody Valentine......IMHO
Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie are brilliant as well-----but Gish defined the band

A very underated rock singer is Robin Zander from Cheap Trick
My personal fav for metal is Michael Kiske from Helloween
Fav of all time is Uncle Axl

It's ok---the last couple of minutes are pretty good. Nothing special from the guitar solos but they are there. Problem is there are so many other metal bands paying better and more inspired solos these days. Sounds like they are trying too hard to capture their past INHO. It's only one song though....

I like Exile the best
-
Epic was a brillliant groundbreaking masterpiece---but nothing Mike has done has touched it since IMHO. I thought Angel Dust was very average. Saw them on tour opening up for Metallica and GNR in Indianapolis. What a great show that was.
Fav song---Zombie Eaters
One of the best covers i have ever heard---War Pigs
-
Cheap Trick still kicks ass and is still underated--1st 5 albums at least--they always give props to Bon Scott as well "A Friend From The Highway"----they leave Journey and Heart in the dust IMHO----
-
Never cared much for Ozzy's voice---but love the old tunes that Geezer and Toni wrote
Favorites would have to be Dio, Ian Gillan, and Ray Gillen (RIP)

Yeah I have heard FITR with Pearl Jam---but Wearing and Tearing blows it away IMHO. I would rather hear Hot Dog, Carouselambra, and I'm Gonna Crawl from In Through.
Hears a good story----Before anyone knew about Pearl Jam in the early 90's ( I was a huge Smashing Pumpkins fan ) I saw a show at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago where the lineup was in order--- Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, and the headliner Red Hot Chilli Peppers. No one at the show had a clue who Pearl Jam was--- One year later Pearl Jam was the biggest band in the world--bigger than the Pumpkins and Chilli Peppers (even though I hated PJ)--- two years later Smashing Pumpkins was the biggest band in the world with Mellon Collie-----Go figure
I always thought that Oasis were the biggest band in the world round 95/96.
No--95 was the year of the Pumpkins. In October Mellon Collie debuted at # 1 on the charts. Also it remains the biggest selling double album of that decade. I don't know about 96. Mellon Collie is often referred to as Generation X's "The Wall " and recieved 9 Grammy nominations and also had 5 singles released. It has over 2 hours of material. I think 96 might have been when Oasis was big but am not a fan and could be wrong

When I think of Bright Eyes I think of Blind Guardian----what a great song from Imaginations From The Other Side
-
What is also amazing is that this is the 1st and only live performance of Wearing and Tearing ever !!!
-
By far --one of the best--Jimmy Page and Robert Plant--Wearing and Tearing
I don't have a link but just enter those words on youtube for an amazing performance at Knebworth 1990----------Scorching!!!!!!!

Ok-- I'm a computer idiot and need some info if possible. The ATT Blue Room is broadcasting live performances from Lollapalooza for the 3 day fest here in Chicago this weekend Fri through Sun. I just bought my first "home" computer and I want to burn some of them on DVD if this is possible. Has anybody ever tried this ? My new computer does have a feature to burn cds and dvds. I am not good with computers so any info would be much appeciated. My goal would be to record on DVD as they are being broadcast at the ATT Blue Room Site.

Achilles by far for me. Presence also has some very underated stuff like Hots On For Nowhere (talk about killer riffs), For Your LIfe....etc.... Anyway, the amazing drumming by Bonham, the killer many tracks by Jimmy, and the great lyrics by Plant make Achilles one of my all time favorites IMHO
you have to give JPJ's thumping bass line some credit.
Yes! That's why, as far as Rock songs go, this song may be the best crafted one ...ever
Bonham's drumming alone puts it into otherworldly category
ChicagoComa: While Achilles is possibly my fav Zep song, Presence is far from my favorite album - I like about 1/2 of it, but that funky, jumpy stuff you mentioned, like Hots on or Royal Orleans, etc.....that shit just annoys the crap out of me
Exactly on the Bonham reply----but as a guitar player Achilles, Hots On, For Your Life, Candy Store Rock, and Tea For One are blistering classics IMHO----and for me Presence will always remain one of the most underestimated albums of all time ----and those who also hate "CODA" check out Wearing and Tearing and Darlene---
But I won't argue-----EVERY Zep album is a masterpiece!!!!!!----Jimmy Page is the ultimate riff writer of all time IMHO
My top 3 bands---- Zep ---Floyd---and Rush
BUT.... I will have to admit-- before I graduated to those bands I worshipped KISS, AC/DC, and Cheap Trick----then i went to progressive rock-----

OK ---JPJ never gets his dues I forgot and I'll admit----but the thumping is mostly Bonham---check out the Zed Zep DVD--- Bonham scorches on that---One of the performances that makes him an all-time drummer IMHO-----He is just on fire !!!!!

OK--so Rush to me is most underated band IMHO of all time.IMHO Rush never get the credit they deserve
Not from Canada are you..
No--I am from Chicago USA----but a huge Rush fan since the release of 2112 in the 70's
wish i coulda been a fan of rush since the 70s
but then again i would have had to experience the reagan years
Reagan kicked ass---Iran hostages were immediately released when he took power---he would have immediately smoked them IMHO----just my humble opinion though

OK--so Rush to me is most underated band IMHO of all time. I have 3 brilliant bands I adore more than anybody--- and they are Led Zep, Pink Floyd, and Rush----IMHO Rush never get the credit they deserve---3 of the most brilliant musicians to ever grace a stage----bash if you want----I have not even seen the performance tonight but I know how great they are. I know Alex Lifeson was influenced by Jimmy Page but he evolved with his own style and to me is one of the most underated guitarists I have ever heard. Just my humble opinion of course----another great thing is that the 3 members have stayed together for almost 35 years !!!! (Neil Peart joined after the 1st record)
La Villa Strangiato !!!!!!!

I would have to say the early 90's alt bands for me
Janes Addiction--Ritual and Nothing Shocking
Smashing Pumpkins---Gish, Siamses Dream, MCIS
Radiohead---OK Computer
My Bloody Valentine---Loveless (one of the most unique albums you'll ever hear)
Tori Amos---Little Earthquakes and Boys For Pele
There are also many Death/Melodic Death/Black/Power metal bands that have put out some
brilliant stuff but the list is too long
And of course the first 3 GNR albums !!!! ---Illusion # 1 being my fav
-
Yeah I've had this on VHS tape for many years. I forgot how good Misty was too. Rock N Roll I thought was just so so
-
I don't know how to link things but one of my fav Page /PLant live performances is Wearing n Tearing from Knebworth 1990. You can view pro concert footage on youtube. SCORCHING version. PLant's band in backing them up--- and I do love John Paul Jones and know how important he is to the mix
Recommend me some Smashing Pumpkin music

Some of their best early songs were only b-sides and not even on the studio albums as well like Starla, Pissant, Plume, Hello Kitty Kat, Glynis, Drown,--- I could go on and on...
