  1. The date is the 23rd. Not the 28th. :)

    Anyone updating?

I'll do it if there are no other takers. I'll update twitter @cc4rhu

Don't know if anyone is planning on driving up the A1 to get to the show but from Washington services up to the Newcastle turn off has seen delays of around 1 hour the last few days. Personally I would take the A194 off from Washington heading towards the Tyne tunnel, left at Whitemere roundabout and along the Felling bypass and over the Tyne Bridge.

Edit - Just thought, could someone let Axl know

Wow, really appreciate the honest help you're trying to give but fuck me...out of the fire into the frying pan springs to mind! Felling by-Pass and the Tyne Bridge at rush hour? Personally speaking, leave 30 minutes earlier and stick it out (A1) but yeah, see what you're saying.

Totally different now that the second tunnel is open

I'd be gutted if I lived in Newcastle knowing that I missed him in such an obvious place laugh.gif

I know I thought the same thing. Do you think that means they're staying at either the Hylton or the Copthorne (or whatever it's called now). If he went that far along the Quayside there's a good chance they popped in the Sage too?

  3. I've always wondered why we know so much about the recording of the AFD album but little about the UYI recordings. Pretty much every book describes the exact same things on Appetite. I'd love to read about the recordings of UYI and TSI and and how they fit into the massive world tour.

  4. My mate is a HUGE U2 fan, only likes the GNR hits - Great day, few beers down the Quayside, concert, ....anyway he moaned and moaned and moaned all night about Axl, etc... He was doing my fucking head in and all he said all day was "At least I'll get to finally hear Paradise City" !!:laugh:

I've been gutted about that for the last six years and now the knowledge that it pissed just one U2 fan off makes it all better! Fuckin' hell Subsy why didn't you tell me this years ago?

....he never asked me to go this year?

    Shit major derail - Updates!

I'm going to this too. I live in Gateshead so it's my local. Was a Newcastle 06 and Gateshead 93. Really looking forward to this. Can do updates but don't really want to as I'll be right at the front enjoying the show! No beer for me as I can't stand for that length of time and not need to visit the toilets!

  5. I went to the MEN in 06 and in 2010, and I am going tonight (my home town show), and it may not be a totally different set list to the shows in 06 and 10, but you know what, i dont care. I was never fortunate enough to see the original band, but I love this band and version of Guns N Roses; I love the music of Guns N Roses, both shows in 06 and 10 were amazing, and I am expecting another amazing show tonight.................I can not fucking wait!!!!

Excellent post. I saw the original band in Gateshead 93 and I am just as excited now to see them in Newcastle. (Almost as excited to see new episodes of Dwarf in October Mr Flibble!)

  6. From classic rock:

Slash will be looking at the artists and music that helped to shape his life and career. It will include Led Zeppelin, Rose Tattoo, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, Queen, Rage Against The Machine, as well as his own records.

Slash’s new album Apocalyptic Love will be released in the UK on May 21 in an exclusive Classic Rock Fan Pack form.

  7. What's the odds of tickets being still being available on March 9th for the Newcastle gig?

My exam period begins from May 21st annoyingly, and we don't find out when our exams are till the 9th of March.

Last time there were plenty of tickets available for the arena around that time. Standing were available for about 3 weeks before the show but then sold out. Seats were available on the night.
