  2. I'm going to be speculating out my ass here but I think it could just be that Beta is very protective of Axl (as are most who would deal with him, in the sense that they don't want anything that would piss him off) and since Slash has been stated as the stick in the craw she might just be keeping axl away, and it might just be feeding into it.

Yeah thats pretty much exactly what I was saying/thinking. Of course I'm speculating too. I wouldn't say that makes her a total "yes-man" either - again I think there's stuff going on none of us will no about and there comes a time when you know what your boss/"son"/friend needs and wants and you cater to that and do your best to help them through it. Beta's not the bad guy here. Neither is Axl and neither is Slash. Marc has said it himself a million times and you can easily see it yourself from all sorts of interviews/books/footage of the guys involved - Axl thinks Slash did and said this and that - add media spin and a bit of miscommunication and all the other people and opinions and you've got one guy hating the other for things he doesn't even think he's said or done. They're kinda both wrong and right at the same time. And it's too far down the road now for it ever to be fixed as far as the band/playing together goes. It would be nice if these former friends could at least be friends/civil again towards one another in private before it's too late for them....

  3. There's a huge contradiction between thoughts and actions there. She has an unheard of amount of influence on Axl so if you think she knows this is for the best, why not use it for good instead of 'evil'?

There's only a "huge contradiction" if you believe Beta doesn't have Axl's best interests in mind. I think she ultimately does. A lot of people on here talk as if Axl is a puppet and the puppet masters are team Brazil. I think Beta does what is best for Axl in terms of what Axl wants. Everybody knows the best BUSINESS thing for Axl to do is a reunion - everybody - Axl, Beta, Slash, the industry, the fans - everyone. It's not what Axl wants though - obviously some things are more important to him than money. So I wouldn't say Beta is some evil puppet master keeping the classic GNR from re-uniting. Beta/team Brazil ultimately "handle" Axl and cater to his needs and wants (be it positive or negative from a fans point of view) - I don't think for a second Axl's mind is made up for him by anyone but himself. Information may be filtered/held back or whatever but no-one here can seriously believe Axl really wants to re-unite with Slash and the only thing holding that back is Beta?!

  4. I think Beta hates Slash more than Axl does,

Why?? I've always thought there must be some deeper reason why things are so bad between Axl and Slash. I can't just be GNR/legal stuff.

Slash was reaching out to work with Axl awhile ago but looks like he finally gave up after the Hall of Fame. Who knows maybe in a few years he will reach out again.

More info on this please!!!!! :-)

  5. I can't believe some think he is singing better now than he did in the 90s :scared:

Why?? Listen to the outro of any 2010 rocket queen. Then listen to the outro of RQ ritz 88...

88 doesn't have to be better just because it was GNRs heyday. Axl was beyond insane on particular songs in 2010. Don't know exactly why but he just was and on some songs the best I've ever heard him IMO. It actually boggles the mind how much his voice changes from tour to rour/year to year.

  6. Oh holy mother of fucking Jesus Shit. What the fucking fuck??!!!!

Put out ANY fucking show from 2010. ANY FUCKING ONE! Not this weak-ass, no rasp, weedy falsetto dross.

And not that I ever had a problem in the beginning with the idea of New Guns but don't advertise them with slogans that relate to the other 4 people who aren't there anymore i.e. most dangerous band in the world. Whoever put that on there and for whatever reason is a douche. It's 2012, that band isn't dangerous to anyone. It'd be like Bon Jovi calling themselves the hot ladykillers, coming to a town near you.

Actually, one thing might come out of this: all of the idiots who claim that Axl's shitty vocals in 2011 and 2012 were down to poor quality youtube recordings and that he sounded amazing at their show blasted through a giant PA with thousands of people singing along, they'll finally have to admit that what's going into the mic at the front end is the same weak-ass crap you can hear in every youtube video and brilliantly-recorded-from-near-the-back flac bootleg.

The web is full of terrible, embarassing pro-shot from the last Rio and plenty of awful performances captured in great quality on iphone 4's from the last few years. Please for the sake of fuck give us something to be proud of and put out a 2010 show.

    Erm...what?

I don't get whats so hard to understand. Jordan is absolutely right. No he's not trolling. No he's not hating. I'm not trolling. I'm not hating. Axl was generally FUCKING INCREDIBLE in 2010. Don't know why - why was that particular year so standout?? I heard vocals (Rocket Queen always sticks in mind) that to me where the BEST I'd EVER heard in 2010 - better than 80s/90s even. I don't get why the vocals change so much. But only fans with blinkers on can't tell 2010 apart from all other eras.

And yes I have seen the band live numerous times including the year in question.

  7. Hey Marc - I think love him or hate him (or anything in between!!) Buckethead is one of the biggest mysteries in the history of GNR. I find any information about him fasinating.

    Did you ever:

    1) meet him face to face?

    2) have a "normal" conversation with the man?

Thanks in advance should you reply to this one :-D

  8. Absolutely nothing to be drawn - GNR is a brilliant band - The Stone Roses is a guy who thinks he's Page, 2 guys that should stick to being in Black Grape or whatever and an absolute fucking GOON talking into a microphone. I'm sorry but I just don't get Ian Brown. Listen to his fucking dour, soulless "vocal" on that live vid above. What am I missing with this guy. I saw his solo act live once in an arena - worst show I've ever seen. Although his guitar player then was entertaining.

  9. GUN

If your talking about the Irish band GUN from the 80's I loved their first two albums but lost track of them after that.....

I saw them at Toads Place in New Haven, CT just after their first album was released, after a Joe Satriani concert in a nearby theater, and their was literally less than 20 people watching the show....never understood why they never broke here as their albums were fantastic

Were they an arena headliner in Europe back in the day?

I don't know if we are - I'm talking about the Scottish band. Their first album was 1989 I think but they were most prominent in the early-mid 90s. They are most well known for their cover of Word Up.

They were pretty massive in parts of Europe and done well in UK. Dont think they done much or anything in the US.

  10. Of course they need money. Everyone thinks that rock stars have shit tons of money just leaking out all over the place, but the reality is that even "rich" people have bills too - it's all relative.

I agree - when I read the OP I don't see it being about Lars or Hetfields own personal fortunes or whatever. Fuckin look at Metallica - its an organisation - there's likely at least a few hundred people that rely on that company to pay their wage - roadies etc and other folks.

Dunno if the same applies to GNR though. They could need it for legal fees haha. And Hammet saying you can't stop for 2/3 years - Axl stopped for about 7 haha - does that mean he was much richer????????
