  1. You know, now that I think about it, Axl probably just made it easier for Slash, Duff and Steven to perform at HOF by saying he won't be going. Before that there were doubts if there would even be a performance and now it looks like they are defiantly going to put on a show.

Seems like the awkward/difficult factor has been removed. Seeing as how much they "wanted to play", I say good for them.

Yeah, I mean fuck it, they should stick to their choice. I don't know Myles is the best choice, perhaps they should have gone with a bigger caliber artist but then again there was little time and the guy's available.

It doesn't matter what they do now, everyone will be talking about Axl anyway.

  2. Atleast some have the balls to say that CD was bullshit...Haven't listened to it in 2 years that fucking bad record it was...

Then those newGuns fans say that "you're just comparing it to Appetite and Illusions and don't want to realize that Guns has "evolved""...

First of all I didn't make any comparisons to previous records, just listened it with open mind but no I still think it's bullshit, really strange record =/

It takes ZERO fucking balls to say CD was shit. Everyone and their mother says it was shit, even many people who never heard the album will tell you this.

  3. Anyone who sides with Axl here....thinks he will come and be their friend. They are just kissing his ass. The plain, obvious and most apparent truth is that Axl fucked this up big time.

Yeah and what would they gain exactly?

Personally I just enjoy the shitstorm. Axl is a cupcake like no other, he really makes people rage like no one else. It's not like anything significant even happened for Christ's sake, he just won't be receiving an award and the whole web is ablaze.

  4. "We want him on that wall. We need him on that wall. It's about the only way we can sleep at night, knowing somewhere, Axl is watching over us all. And writing open letters to let us know he still cares."

    LOVING IT!

Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight.

  5. Can the mods close this one too? It's just trolling at this point.

I'm no Kurt Cobain fan. Smells Like Teen Spirit is the only Nirvana song I really know. That said, I feel he deserves a basic level of respect, especially if you don't even know that much about about him. Nobody here likes hearing Axl get mocked by idiots who know only a stereotype of him and and focus on the negative, so it's pretty hypocritical to give other artists that same treatment.

Kinda off topic but what was the topic anyway - you should give the albums a listen. I fucking hate "Smells Like Teen Spirit", it's incredibly overrated, too pop, an average song IMO, at least compared to the rest of Nirvana's stuff.

Nirvana really was way better than that but somehow for the public this one song is the definition of rebellion/nonconformism/whatnot when in reality it's anything but.

  6. Lol look at what one guy Thierry posted

"Bullshit thread. Honestly, I was blown away when I saw GNR in Arnhem last year, very tight band and Axl sounded excellent.

I thought they blew Jovi out of the water in 2010. I'd love to see GNR anytime soon again - especially since they started to play Civil War and Estranged again."

And he's a real BJ (lol) fan, been to plenty of concerts according to his sig.

Moral of this story: there are some reasonable people even among Bon Jovi fans lol.

  7. The hipster trend is way older than Kurt and Nevermind. I think that he did help to give the hipster trend a boom. As for PJ, Sg and AiC: I don't think so, they weren't trying to look diferent or something. In fact, PJ was even criticized by Kurt, who judged them "too mainstream" to be part of the alternative scene.

Nobody ever mentioned the alice. I think they were the realest band of the genre. Regular guys who only wrote about things they dealt with. Alot of nice lyrics, although often simple. But it was all delivery. Cantrells riffs, along with the harmony of his and laynes voices has yet to be reproduced since. Nirvana we're big because of image mostly. I don't think their music sticks in mind as much as alice in chains, and its a shame nirvana is considered the big band of grunge music. Every ten year old in america will claim to love nirvana but probably never even heard of aic.

    I totally agree with you.

    AIC>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Nirvana

I respect those who like/understand Nirvana, but for me they sound like a random mess.

AIC was on a whole different level. The quality of their vocals, lyrics and riffs is far superior to Nirvana. AIC is so f*%$ underrated...

    +1.

Layne Staley pisses all over Cobain.

Make it +2 that's how I see it as well.

Still appreciate Nirvana though, was a very important band for me.

  8. I think he means that noone cares who is in Guns as long as there is Axl, Duff & Slash.

And the second quotes means that the new guys are easier to work with because they are more professional than the original ones or the UYI line-up.

    that's what I understand

It might mean just that IMO.

Most of the so called public does not really miss the whole band but Slash and his top hat. He was so recognizable there's something missing for them. For most of the people who hate Axl for "braking up the band" GnR was Slash and Axl, the guitar hero and the loudmouth.

If a "reunion" involved only Slash and Axl the public would piss their pants with joy.

  9. Being paid for your work doesn't make you a sell-out. It makes you a professional.

Being paid more money to do things you don't want to do makes you a sell-out. So until you see Slash on stage with Axl, you do not have the right to call Axl a sell-out. As far as I'm concerned anyways.

Being paid to change your stance on anything makes you a sellout. Gene Simmons always said it was all about the money so at least that is consistent with him whoring out the Kiss name to coffin makers and condom companies. Axl specifically said "I think bands that charge fans to meet them is disgusting" and then he does it. To quote you "Being paid more money to do things you don't want to do makes you a sell-out.".

I don't have the right to call Axl a sell out?! Where are we man? Are we in a tyrannical country?? I don't have the right to express my harmless opinion that I have backed up with quotes?? Ha!

Axl will not be at the meet and greet. Your point has been invalidated in the simplest way.

Okkkkkkkk there is no getting to you. I'll spell it out for you, not to try convince you, but to show others how illogical your arguments are.

The band "Guns N' Roses" are doing meet and greets.

Axl is the sole owner of the band Guns N' Roses.

Axl sanctioned the meet and greet for his band Guns N' Roses.

It is on the official Guns N' Roses website.

The meet and greets take place after a Guns N' Roses show with members of Guns N' Roses.

The VIP ticket says Guns N' Roses on it.

Here is Axl's exact quote, verbatim:

"But overall, charging fans for it, I think, [is] disgusting of bands. Now if they did it for free to winners of a contest, etc., that would be different. Charging is lame."

Notice he said 'bands'. Even if he is not there, his band is. And he approved the whole thing.

Have a nice day sir :)

    All there is to it.

Honestly, I don't get the need some people have to defend everything their idol does. Axl clearly contradicted himself regarding this kind of stuff and, to use his words, it's lame.

  10. Please tell me that there is NO WAY that we can't ALL agree that DJ doing that hand to ear (Hulk Hogan thing) is fucking stupid and corny as fuck. Right??

Yes truly cringe-worthy every time. He does it during his solo too. Hey Deej people will applaud of their own accord if you deserve it.

I kinda like the guy but yeah, I agree this kind of behavior is super annoying. It always makes me think of shitty bands where the audience is half asleep and the poor performer tries to force them to do something.

Guess what, this is GnR, you don't need that kind of shit. Same deal with the GUNS - N - ROSES on the screen for the fans to shout between the songs. WTF if they want to shout it, they will, it's fake this way.

  11. Am I the only one that payed attention to the Bumble section when they were talking about a new album, sure you can't hear much of it, but it sounds like we might be getting a new album sooner then we think

    :xmasssanta:

I also found it fitting we got Ron to show off the TMS theme given that he was one of the people who wrote it.

WTF man they weren't talking, Bumble was just moving his lips and making gestures, having some fun to tease us. Nothing was being said.

  12. Personally I think anytime before 12am is alright, anything beyond that is a bit of a joke.

I think a lot more people would be satisfied if they said what time they're going to start (whatever time that is), and start close to that time.

Yeah that would be perfect. I mean why should a concert start at 8PM, let the support begin later and print the time closer to real start on the tickets.

I don't mind some waiting but sometimes it can be just extremely exhausting with nothing to drink etc. Still, I don't get the whiners complaining they won't be able to sleep well before work next day. Well boo-fucking-hoo, the delay is a given with Axl so you signed up for it.

    The statement is cringeworthy, however.

  13. but,but he's not fat. he looks like most average 50 year olds....

Are you actually disputing that? I'd wager he is actually in better shape than the average 50 year old American man.

    Ali

He's a rock star. Rock stars are not fat and certainly not average American men lol.

Good to hear if it's true.

Rock stars are not fat or overweight/bloated? Duff must have missed that memo in the early 90's. Same thing with Meat Loaf, Scott Stapp and Rob Thomas. They're human, so human issues are not beyond them.

I really don't get it why people have the need to say "he's human" over and over after RIR. Sure he's human, rockstars are human, they're not fucking Martians. The image of a fatass is not really what comes to mind when you think of a rockstar now does it?

I mean really, do you think of Axl as an average middle aged man? Sure, he's a man and he's middle aged but he's Axl fucking Rose.

Do you really not get it? The problem with the image you described is that it isn't reality. It's a distortion. I just listed several rock stars that have had issues with their weight over the years, just like regular people (aka humans). It's not unheard of. That's reality, not your "image" of a rock star.

    Ali

Yeah man I do get it, it's totally obvious.

Let me explain. Do you think Meat Loaf (let's leave his music aside, but he was mentioned earlier) with his fat ass looks like a prototypical rockstar? Probably not. Sure the "prototypical rockstar" is just an "image" but it's in our heads. When you think "rockstar" you think "badass", not "Meat Loaf fat". People don't (or at least didn't) think of real rockstars as mere mortals, they are something more, forces of nature, idols. This image is partly what makes rock what it is. That's why I said a rockstar is not an average Joe.

  14. but,but he's not fat. he looks like most average 50 year olds....
