I was at Three Rivers Stadium watching my favorite band while his mommy was wiping his fanny with a wet wipe. Too funny.

Judging by their accurate responses, my guess would be all of them.

Well, I thought this thread would be a good place to post the below article (mainly cos I'm trying to avoid receiving hate mail from Madison). It seems the highly respectable sodahead.com has a current poll going asking the question: Guns N' Roses 'Chinese Democracy' Tour: Can Axl Rose Still Rock The Stage?

So far about 30 people have responded, and of the 30 about 25 have responded with "No". Actually, they aren't saying "no", they're saying things like (and I quote):

I love Guns N Roses, but it's the original band that my heart belongs to, not the new.

Why was Axl Rose repeatedly leaving the stage during Sunday’s show at Rexall Place? The Guns N’ Roses frontman seemed to run backstage in the middle of every one of their songs – and it wasn’t always to change his shirts.

Was it to get a hit of oxygen? Water? Helium? Or look over his lyrics? (No, he reportedly uses teleprompters, and yes, it looked like there were a few screens scattered around the foot of the stage for the 47-year-old musician to peek at.) Whatever the reason, his vanishing act was the only major bummer of G N’ R’s 180-minute show, which started at 10:30 p.m. (Almost 90 minutes earlier than the band’s last Rexall show in 2006.) Whenever Rose wasn't on stage, the concert tended to lose momentum. His bandmates might be wizards with their instruments, but they didn't possess his charisma (or those of their G N' R predecessors).

OK, so the sound wasn’t always pristine, but we’ve come to expect sludgy mixes – especially when it comes to L.A.’s finest rock 'n' roll hellions, including Motley Crue, Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver (G N’ R minus Rose). His screeches were often buried under the squeals of his three guitarists, but when he was audible – as on such oldies as November Rain and Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door - he sounded better than ever. Or at least better than he did on his last visit.

His latest batch of tunes – from the much-delayed and maligned Chinese Democracy - were hampered with the worst mixes, as if G N’ R’s sound technician was still trying to figure them out.

Axl Rose misinterpreted a Twitter message from Slash, when referring to a benefit concert he [slash] planned to benefit Haiti.

On the 13th, Slash tweeted, Looking into organizing a big fund raiser concert for Haiti. Apparently, in Axl language, he mustve thought that Slash was looking for a way to get the band back together, so he responded with, On a side note, pretty low n selfish usin the devastation in Haiti 2 start (false) reunion rumors. Axl's camp claims they were "hearing" reunion calls when there were no such suggestions out there. But by making Axl comment on this "non-existent rumor" - he's in fact created the rumor and managed to paint himself as the bad guy.

As I mentioned earlier - my biggest concern is that Axl is being given misinformation and then being asked to comment on this wrong information. And that's not cool. He needs to hire a professional PR person who will be plugged into everything that's happening in the GNR world and not give him misinformation and bad advice. It makes me sad to see this because I think Axl is a good person with a good heart - but bad advice and poor PR is hurting him and his image.

Is it bad PR or bad people that he has surrounded himself with? Personally, I think Beta, Fernando, and the rest of the "family" have brainwashed him in to believing that EVERYBODY is out to hurt and misrepresent him. Therefore, only 'they' can provide him with the "truth".

Look, man. I have to get up and go to work on Tuesday. But if someone were to call me up asking - if on that same day - I would play my acoustic guitar with a guy that I didn't particularly care for from college (knowing that it would raise ALOT of money for a charitable cause) I'd be there. No ifs, ands, or buts. I just thought that Axl was of the same caliber to do the same. Guess I was wrong.

If I where Slash, I would take out a full page ad in Variety or some other newspaper, asking Axl to reunite for a concert to help the victims of Haiti.

Just a reunion? Ha! No offense - actually please go right ahead and take offense - but any nimrod could have came to the conclusion that reunion rumors were going to be imminent after 'Chinese Demcocracy's' release. That put the Guns N Roses name back out there to some degree. The first GNR material after a 15 year drought. Now granted, it wasn't actually GNR - and the material left a bad taste in most listener's mouth - but still, it got people to thinking again about how great of a band that was that gave the anthems like 'Jungle' and 'Paradise' - ballads like Patience and November Rain. It got people to thinking 'how great would it be if THAT Guns N Roses was back? Aside from that, I think the rest of us were just praying that since the album debacle was out of the way, maybe it would mean that Axl could move along with his life and give the other 98% of mother earth what they really wanted. Unfortunately for us, we learned that Axl has become even more bitter with the passing of the years, and for some even more bizarre reason, he felt that an album - that fell out of the Billboard after only a few short months and spawned absolutely zero hit singles - warranted a 4th low selling tour.

Why would we do that? We don't censor discussions on this forum.
