I talked with a promoter a few years ago that looked into it. GNR was between 400K and 600K I believe. This was in '06. AC/DC was around 1.1 mil. Bon Jovi 600K, Metallica 800K.

When I first read Axl's tweet, I honestly cracked a big smile. I knew there would be some crazy drama. The fact that GNR might go back into the woods again for awhile was somehow intriguing.....

It's grown on me. I like the live version. All the distortion and elephant sounds kind of ruin it for me.

Because they are some of the greatest songs ever made, by a very special band. The songs do not grow stale, or sound dated. The subject material is easy to relate to.

I also think that many of you are judging Axl's current vocals from crappy, low-quality cell phone and YouTube videos.

Clearly, a voice like Axl's will not translate the same with these recordings. Go to a show. If you saw Axl live in 1992 and again in 2010, you would be hard pressed to tell the difference.

That Wembley performance of Sailing was one of the best performances I've heard from any band, ever. Axl is incredible there.

Absolutely #1. I love all types of music, but honestly don't see how you can put anyone over GNR if you consider yourself a fan of rock music.

Definitely packing a few more lbs but I would say he actually looks very healthy. Still moves around the stage and hits all the notes as good as ever. Training harder and slimming down some would probably quiet the haters though.

He is, and he's really starting to figure it out, getting top five finishes. Even though he's only on the Citroen junior team, not the full factory effort. Will be cool to watch.

It's really refreshing to see some knowledgeable race fans in here. Kimi is the man, probably the the outright fastest driver in the world today, if not always the most motivated. His GNR connections only make him that much more awesome.
