I dont have a premium membership so no lanyard for me, lol.
I'm not hot and I won't be dressing like that for a show or selling my meat just to get noticed by the crew guys
But I will try something else and figure out a way to get a picture or autograph without putting myself under their rules.
I'm going to be wearing the lanyard but not holding out any hope - I'm too far from the action to be noticed. That and I'm not a skinny 20 something...maybe they'll want to meet my Axl lookalike boyfriend instead!
-
I'm loving the plaid...I will also be wearing it as homage at the concert
-
So Fine...it would be great! First time seeing Duff also. It's one of my go-to songs on the UYI. I never get tired of it.
-
curious too...I'll wear mine and will get my boyfriend to wear the shirt

I think the sheer fact that this reality I myself have waited 18 years for is happening in 2 days, I'm gonna squeeel like a pig when I show up to the stadium. I live on South philly and have off so it is going to a relaxed ass day. Btw anyone remember this from the ollllddd site? This will be my get up. Pulling this out of the closest for the first time after 10 years of having it.
I've been in shock since tickets went on sale...I won't believe this actually is happening until concert night...at the venue.

You and I are bringing wife's who are not big fans of GN'R... thank God they love us.
My guy is also less than thrilled that I'm dragging him to the big city for this...he did enjoy seeing Slash with me a few years ago at Bluesfest so hopefully this doesn't suck too much for him. If I could bring a girlfriend I would have instead, we'd have more fun. It's a big downer being so so excited being next to someone who is bored/annoyed.

Good to know I'll be in no rush that night
Same! so unexcited about the opener. Thought for sure Sebastian would show up - maybe he'll do something in the actual show. I think he was at one or both of the Ottawa shows I attended years ago.

It's not a show, it is Duff's movie or documentary called "It's so easy and other lies".

Not sure you can check the whole thing online. I think it's been played in theaters but maybe there's a dvd out there.
Thanks! I've read the book but didn't know he made a film about it. I will hunt it down.

Aww, now the topic jumped to Axl/Duff love
I've got some stuff about that!
Duff about meeting Axl for the first time
Duff and Axl challenge of voice sustain?
FF to 1:30. Duff offers some love and support to a sad Axl
Do you know what "show" this is from? The first one with Duff talking about meeting Axl. I'd love to check out the whole thing. Thanks!

Ugh, is it really that bad looking? I am going to wear my night train shirt from last year. I still have not received this years. Such a piss off that they finally get their stuff together and let the day club slide. Well I guess...the fan club has never ever functioned, so not a really high hill from which to slide.
If I were coming from Ottawa, I'd consider taking Via since you are probably spending the night anyway. Union station is literally down the street from Rogers Centre.
My boyfriend will wear the shirt he says - it's just too new and a heavier cotton than I like to wear. I should update my address - living near Huntsville these days. Going to stay on Bloor - have to Subway it to the show/back. It's okay, part of the fun I guess. Honestly I'm still a bit shell shocked any of this is actually happening. I have only watched one little recent live clip but not more as to not ruin the experience in Toronto.

Toronto July 16th baby - first time seeing Duff perform
-
Section 232L Row 10 (105) I was two hours late in getting pre-sale tickets...I'm just glad I noticed the email at all that day or I likely wouldn't be going. Never been to the Skydome before and it's been 6 years since my last visit to Toronto. A bit nervous about driving down there but I'll manage. I'll be wearing the gay Nighttrain fanclub thingy that they sent this week.
-
I just got my t-shirt on Friday (9th) and I'm going to the Toronto show on the 16th. I did purchase both hoodie and t-shirt but only received t-shirt. Maybe they think it's too warm for a sweater?

Any insight on which company is handling ticket sales?
-
Aww.
Can't say I'm surprised. Hence the reason I didn't post another topic, cause I have no idea where anything goes anymore these days.
Basically ensures no one will see it at this point.
I had a dream a handful of nights ago, very vivid too. It was kind of a small garage type show for less than 100 people and somehow I was in charge of getting water bottles and towels for them...I remember being stressed about not having washed enough towels (apparently I was bringing them from home) and being confused as to how many bottles of water to buy for them.

Not that you're suggesting a reality show but it's close enough I guess.."Another thing that I don't know you'll ever see is a Axl Rose reality show. When I see that shit, I laugh. Here's the only other time that he got made at me. I had just finished shooting Supergroup for VH1. It was on TV in America while we were gallivanting across Europe. We had a beautiful dinner at some incredible Italian restaurant. We are sitting there and I go, 'Dude, I just shot this reality show for VH1 and they paid me this amount of money, man. It was fucking easy. It was only like two weeks. It was hilarious. Axl, if they paid me this amount of money, they'd pay you like a million bucks for 10 days of some shit.' He's looking at me with this look on his face and he's all quiet and he goes, 'Sebastian, you don't understand.' I go, 'What?' He goes, 'I will pay VH1 $2 million to leave me the fuck alone!' I would bet my life you won't be seeing the Axl Rose reality TV show.
Sebastian = Extrovert Axl = Introvert. I don't blame him...he deals with enough public scrutiny. A little mystery goes a long way.

We should thank Duff.
he's getting a big old hug from me if I ever meet him!
-
We've not heard a peep from Axl. This might all be going ahead because he is (somehow) on the verge of bankruptcy and has had to swallow his pride to keep the wolves from the door.
LOL!
I literally laugh out loud every time somebody says Axl is going bankrupt!
He holds controlling rights to the biggest debut album EVER! with 40 million+ sales and his NuGNR Vegas residency grossed 15 million. The Use Your Illusions Tour money is surely still floating around, along with the success of those albums. On top of that, even in his down time he made money touring and the 8 million that Chinese Democracy sold. Not to mention merchandising rights on anything GNR. Axl has PLENTY of Money!. There may have been massive money blowing on the Use Your Illusions tour with late fees and theme parties, we all splurge on shit once in a while but we keep a safety net just incase, I believe just like with the drug use shit Axl always knew how to control himself, he may have done those things but he could cut himself off at any time. Axl is probably sitting better than anyone in the band besides Slash, they all have done well, the ones who need the money are Steven & Izzy and theres no word on weather or not they're in yet.
I think people tend to forget that while cd sales have slumped, Music usage rights have NOT. I'm assistant manager & investor at a Strip Club and we're a smaller club and we still pay $10,000 per year to the big 3 music companies (BMI, ASCAP, SESAC) just to play their music, that covers nearly every major recording artist and now theres a 4th company trying to get its paws into things. Now figure this, Bars, restaurants and Strip clubs all have to pay to legally use this music, now add this on to your figuring...how many restaurants, bars, strip clubs are there in the world? do the math...now that you've done it, you can clearly see just off of that alone Axl doesn't need to EVER do a damn thing again in his life to make money, he just needs to sit & wait on the checks. The number of bars & clubs in Wisconsin alone could fund Axl's great grand children and their children off of his royalties.
Its definitely not like the Beatles where they pissed their whole music catalogue away selling it or just plain not controlling it, Axl at least controls it.
I've always been curious about this...how does one check up on a club's music usage? I can understand with radio because that's very public but a small bar etc would be hard to know what they play.

Does anyone else feel 'shell shocked' right now? hopefully I don't offend any vets here - been offending people all day. After all the lead up to this announcement I feel kind of numb to the news.
-
So I might have to sell a vital organ to afford seeing them. I just hope it works out in the best possible way for the band...sucks for the regular fan though.
No you won't. Top tickets are $250-75. There will be tickets that are far cheaper. Yeah, you'd be sitting up high but you'd still be there.
They made it sound like average tickets would be $250...the stress of scrambling for tickets if they ever came to a city near me is another deal. I always hated that bit.
Ran up to Duff in Toronto

So it was Friday afternoon and we had only been in the city for a couple hours and didn't know what we were doing, kind of aimless meandering (trying to get out of the fashion district) so we walked some sidestreets and come to Avenue Rd. So just before the Structube (Furniture Store) I see in all his tallness Mr Duff McKagan and he's walking with some shorter (than him) bearded fellow. I just start telling my boyfriend excitedly, "that's Duff!!" and him not being the fan that I am, wasn't really following who the fuck Duff was...*eyeroll* and so I didn't plan anything because all this happened within seconds, I just ran up to him and only said "Hi Duff!!" with a stupid-assed smile on my face probably. He looked a bit taken aback but then quicky recovered his composure and smiled and said hello back. THAT'S IT!! I didn't pursue the interaction further as I'm both an idiot and who really expects to run into their favourite bands bassist on the street out of millions of people that could be walking around. So yeah no pictures or anything, just my boyfriend as my witness. I am not what you would call outgoing, so these things are hard for me (talking to famous/non-famous alike). I wouldn't ever ask for a photo unless it was offered either, I find the whole fangirl thing a bit icky to be honest. I am kicking myself that I didn't at least thank the guy for very likely being the reason for getting "most" of my favourite band back together. But there you have it, a brief encounter that I can either enjoy or kick myself with for the rest of my days (haven't decided yet). So just goes to show you folks with upcoming shows in your city that if you're walking around, they could very well be too...and don't squander your opportunity.
I am a Nightrain member and so in the back of my head I was daydreaming of all the what if's with the possibility of a backstage upgrade or something (didn't happen mind you but of course you imagine the maybes) but the reoccuring thought was "I don't think I'd want to meet Axl" and not because I don't, of course I would, but under those circumstances I feel like we *the fans* are kind of a pain in their ass, an annoyance after putting on a really long, energetic show (Holy crap boys being mostly all in the fifties...) So yeah, the thought of meeting people that I've admired since 1990 or so kind of makes me cringe a little bit. I'd hate to be disappointed or get a photo with an unsmiling Axl, you know what I mean? So in my mind I thought, if it ever happened I'd want it to be Duff.
The universe heard my thoughts and gave me Duff but I wasn't quick enough on my toes. In the end though they don't remember us like we do.
*Also Toronto show at the Rogers Centre 07-16 was freaking amazing!! It's my 3rd time seeing Axl in the last 10 years and I'm beyond thrilled at the quality of his voice and the effort put in by everyone, they played flawlessly to my ears (which are still ringing). The energy they all have was so inspiring, they tired us out by playing so long! I think they went from around 10 pm to 12:38...and with hardly a break in between, constant big hit song after another. I don't know how they do this every other night but I'm glad they do and are! God do I love these guys! I'm going to binge on past/future concert performances from this tour now. They also impressed my boyfriend being less than a fan...to maybe a fan? I'll work on him.
