  1. Not most on mygnrforum.

The haters are in the minority here, trolling the posts of everyone else, who are still enjoying CD and the bands current tour.

In fact, I implore you to scroll up, and find another member spouting the same, or even similar nonsense to yours.

Edit: Just saw the B-real quote in your sig -

Thats all we needed to know about you right there.

Shall I quote you M.Shadows, Brian May, or that guy Slash and we'll see what they made of the album?

I'm really not sure how another's opinion would lessen the validity of mine, nor do I see how my sig is relevant to this conversation other than you "attempting" to discredit me because you disagree.

I started a thread yesterday that was tossed to DnB, I'm assuming because it incited some ridiculous reactions from children. I'm not arguing with management's decision to move it, but I do think it posed a valid question. The OP took the last paragraph of my thread and started another (for whatever reason).

  2. You almost could call it a "bait and switch" tactic.

    Which some people consider unethical.

It would have been more justifiable had he issued a press release back in the 90s stating that GNR was going to continue but only as a tribute band - with a revolving door of musicians - who would milk one album for a decade, three tours, and on top of that, the material would not appeal to most.

That whole "I want to bury the old band" rhetoric and "the fans being rewarded for their long wait" was very misleading for alot of us.

  3. True, great post! great thread

The club thing with only Chinese Democracy songs is a great idear...

But that would mean no Nightrain.

Fuck that. Axl has a right to play the songs he wrote.

I agree that he should be able to play the tracks that were written by him, but should he be able to play the tracks that Izzy wrote the vocals to, or have someone else cover the riffs that Slash was responsible for? It may not be a crime, but considering all of his hyping of the new material and burying of the old band, you'd think he'd want to play the fresh "mind blowing" stuff, if it exists, rather than make his current lineup look like an over-bloated tribute band that exists soley for nostalgic purposes and financial gain.

  4. I think this next album is going to have some real rocking tunes and show the world that this new band is serious.

Serious about what? I bet come 2012, 1 or 2 of these "members" won't even be in the band anymore. Sorry, but I don't see anything "serious" about these guys. Shame Azoff's secret plan wasn't successful.

  5. I know how to "free the bird", change the name of the band.

Axl had to do that since he got the cute idea of destroying the band in 1994, Phil Collins didn't need to use the name of Genesis to keep his fame to date!

...Paul McCartney is still around as well ! so I wonder why Mr Rose still wanna fool people around (at tellin' that GNR is alive? )

True. Once Ringo dies, I wonder if Paul will consider himself "the last man standing" and start calling himself The Beatles.

  6. I know many fans are sceptical, they wwant the old band back, but as soon as they hear us live they shut up (Dizzy Reed).

[Dizzy Reed] is no longer on speaking terms with Slash and the others from the classical period. And he apparently don't miss the lifestyle either.

Oh - I'm sure he "doesn't miss the lifestyle". I mean, what would there be to miss about being in the biggest rock band in the world, having shit tons of money, chicks, and drugs at your disposal. I'm sure playing half filled arenas with a tribute band is equally as rewarding. Wasn't this jackass homeless sometime in 08/09?

Get over yourself, Dizzy. You are obviously a desperate pawn who now resorts to massive ass-kissing because you know damn well Axl could replace you with just about anyone with a pulse. The fact that this guy tries to sell us that "things are better now" is beyond laughable. Oh, and no offense to Dizzy, but somehow I doubt that one of the most legendary guitarists of our time cares about what some nobody keyboardist thinks about him.

Did Dizzy play on Appetite For Destruction? Ya know, the album that made GNR famous. No - I don't think he did. If I was him, I'd just keep my mouth shut about what is or what's not better. Enjoy your half filled arenas, zero commercial appeal, and flying coach while your "boss" takes the corporate jet, you stooge.

  7. On another unrelated note, I've changed my name on here because Myles Kennedy is fucking awesome.

I've changed my name to Mad Hatter because I thought Depp's Alice in Wonderland was pretty sweet.

Well, that and my posting rights were removed from my last account without explanation.

  8. You know whats funny, 90% of people who are as fanatic for Slash as you are like that because they are 12 and saw him in Guitar Hero.

    I see ...

What's your generalization for 90% of those who are Nu GNR fanatics?

  9. Fallon and Letterman....and pretty much every other talk show does short 5 minute interviews....

Oprah usually does at least 15 minute ones. She would use skype quesitons, audience questions, etc... I could only see Oprah or George on The Hour doing an interview like this.

I'd bet my paycheck that 90% of Oprah's questions would revolve around a reunion / Slash reconciliation. That's exactly why he'll never again give an unscripted Q&A with anyone.

I also bet someone would have to tell Oprah that he even released an album called Chinese Democracy.
