Today I remembered my younger self, growing up watching famous Tokyo and Paris shows on VHS, thinking about how it would be a dream to see those guys perform live one day. I've been lucky enough to see Axl three times during recent years and I've also seen Slash, but to see them together, it feels like my childhood dream will be finally fulfilled.
I will do my best to get to the rail but VIP packages are out of my budget so hopefully there are not many wealthy Czech die-hards to steal my spot, haha.
I'm so glad they haven't skipped Czech Republic as the last time they were around. Also it's the same venue as Axl/DC earlier this year! I'm curious if they can sell the same number of tickets as DC as there were close to 60k people according to reports. The last time Guns played Prague in 2010 they sold like 15k but it was an indoor show so this time it will be definitely at least double of that. 4.7. is also the first day of the biggest festival in country - Rock for People, so it doesn't seems too strategic as many casual fans who would be attending won't be able to.- 1

Finally got home after the show and I must say - wow! What a fucking blast I had! Had too much tequilla the night before, so I arrived to Prague at 2pm, three hours later than planned. Luckily enough, I had my buddy waiting at the start of the line and managed to get there. He was waiting with Japanese girl that he met in the city on Saturday. She saw GN'R 20+ times including both Vegas nights. We all managed to get to the rail and close to the center of the stage.
The atmosphere at the front was great and so was the weather. It was the hottest day of the year so far. During the songs, everyone around me was dancing and enjoying themselves so I was a bit surprised coming here and saw comments about lame-ass crowd (I'm with Andy on this one). I think you can't expect 60k people jumping throughout the whole show unless you're in South America. There were also many people from all around the world so it's not all on Czech people, haha. Right behind us there was a guy from Vancouver who have tickets to see Guns in Seattle.
Speaking about Mr. Rose, I saw Guns two times in 2010 and 2012 and this was really a completely different Axl. Smilling all the time, cracking jokes (this time for real, haha). To those who were afraid that moving Axl won't be able to pull these songs the same way he did, he proved them wrong. I think there was a bit of an overreacting on the forum yesterday. He sounded just fine live and also on the videos I saw so far. His voice cracking from time to time is just a result of trying too hard. And not that he was walking, but he was dancing most of the show. Even did a bit of the snakedance during one song. There was a "Touch Too Much" chant from the crowd, Axl heard that and said something like "I think we might do that" but the band started to play another song already. Before the encore he must agreed with Angus they're doing it. What a treat by Axl!
Also a lot of great press from Czech media and fans who attended the show. Many people who don't follow recent shows were afraid of Axl's behaviour because last GN'R show in Prague started like two hours late so everyone was surprised they started even 15 minut earlier last night. It feels so good that our favourite frontman is finally gaining back his lost credit, playing for those massive audiences. To me, he once again proved himself the legend he undoubtedly is.

It's a bit worrying that he was already losing it by Paradise City. That was what? an hour into the show? Does that mean that out of a full length show only the first half will be good?
It's not the time of the show that makes him not so good sounding. It's the songs.

It''s still the same since 2011. Sounds good on easier songs, but can't pull out rasp where he's too busy to breathe. It's this way for the last 5 years and at this point I don't think it's gonna change, so take it or leave it, I guess. Personally, I'm glad he's still around and having fun with his old mates, but I'm 100% sure he will be bashed by general public based on clips of SCOM/PC/YCBM...
It will always be such a shame they haven't found peace before '10 tour. Back then, there was a hope for concquering the world again. -
He is lying he says this every year
He's just brutally honest.

Tbh, I could not see this coming, but this is the proper way how to put things without months of unnecessary hinting comments.
The thing that bothers me is that if Ashba couldn't make it with Axl anymore than nobody can.
Despite all the hate he was getting there, he deserves respect for this gesture. Good luck to him in his future with Sixx: A.M.!- 2

Ok, with Ashba officially out, it's now up to reunion or we will never see Guns N' Roses again I guess.
Ashba's farewell letter:To Each and Every One Of You,
6 years ago I received a call that changed my life forever. The call was from a dear friend of mine (Katie McNeil-Diamond) who was working with Guns N’ Roses. It was an offer to audition for Axl Rose and earn a role in arguably the biggest rock band of my time. While I thought it was a complete long-shot, I decided to go ahead and give it a try. Much to my shock and surprise, I got the gig. And so began the most incredible journey I could have possibly imagined. I was blessed with the opportunity to not only work with one of the most talented bands but also to share the stage with a living legend and a truly gifted human being, Axl Rose. The amount of confidence and trust that Axl placed in me was genuinely heartwarming and truly career-defining. In the years that followed I traveled the world many times over and played these incredible songs night after night to the most enthusiastic and loving crowds. As you can imagine, the friendships that were forged during that time were deep and long lasting. But the most beautiful surprise of all was YOU... the fans. You welcomed me into your lives with open arms and showed me love and support that I could only have dreamed of. From the very first time I stepped on stage and started playing "Welcome To The Jungle," and felt the crowd erupt, I knew my life would never be the same. I'm not gonna lie...I was terrified!! But you were so accepting. You immediately turned my fear into pride. For that, I am truly grateful.
So now it is with a very heavy heart and yet great pride that I announce that I've decided to close this chapter of my life and encapsulate the wonderful times that I've shared with Guns N’ Roses into fond memories. I have reached a point in my life where I feel its time to dedicate myself to my band Sixx:A.M., my adoring wife and family, and to the many new adventures that the future holds for me. I have always been driven by my passion for creating music and Sixx:A.M. has always been a place where I can express myself honestly and share that passion with my two brothers and bandmates, Nikki Sixx and James Michael. As you know I have also been blessed with the love and support of my incredible wife, Naty, who has been at my side for much of this amazing journey.
As I sit here writing this letter, I want to take a moment to thank Axl from the bottom of my heart for not only the most incredible experience of my life, but for truly believing in me. You are a true friend and a champion of mine and I am forever grateful. And even as I move on to pursue other endeavors, I will always remain one of your biggest fans. I also would like to thank each and every one of you fans for your love and support throughout the years. Without you, I am nothing. Please know that I do not take one minute of this amazing life for granted.
I hope that you all join me as I forge ahead. Let's conquer the world together!
With love and respect,
Dj Ashba- 7

Listening to those previews with headphones on, I must say there's some promising stuff on this record. Looking forward to all the tracks except Run2Me which sounds like 1D1H v.2.

Another new song out and it's much more Pumpkins sounding than Beige. Diggin those riffs but it's missing strong chorus. Still got me quite excited about new album!

Really not a fan of the new stuff but this acoustic version is gold.

What happened to Baron Von Storm?
-
Nuno Bettencourt
- I think he would join GN'R.
- He would fit in current Guns with his style.
- Played with Fortus before.
- He's combination of both - soulful and technical playing.

DJ, after Axl, Duff and Dizzy, was the favourite of the crowd.. At first, the people were like "who the fuck does this punk think he is?"... But after a few songs, he really connected with the crowd, even more went he jumped into us.
Yeah, he obviously loves to interract with the crowd. I will never forget how he got trolled by TM. DJ's cluelessnes and that trollface at the end makes it DJ's highlight of his five years in the band.

So this is the first time since 09 when we don't have a single photo of Axl before the tour starts? It makes it all even more exciting, hope it won't be another disappointment. There have been many lately, c'mon Axl, make this one a positive night!

Oceania is fantastic album, but I don't like the studio version of title track. I thought it was much better live and those three parts of the song fit together much better than on CD. This is probably my favourite version of the song:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15BeoPYUuk4Other than Oceania and Chinese, AFI's Burials comes to mind. They had their peak back in 03-06 but they are still releasing great music. There are many people who never appreciate them but in my opinion they are great band with strong catalog of quality music past or present.
I would also throw in second Beady Eye's record because many people thought Liam can't do shit without Noel and you can tell he's not so relevant anymore, but I really enjoy that record. Definitely one of my last year's favourites. -
Love dubstep pause in Death Valley.
Young Volcanoes should be this year's summer anthem.
Pretty solid album overall, all tunes are catchy. -
BBF can't promote Ashba Swag properly.

Torches is great and they're really good live too. Definitely one of better bands out there.

...for those who think that Axl's vocal performance is a good one. Yes, he's maybe trying to sound like Neil, but his voice lacks power. I mean, it doesn't sound too bad, but he can do much better even without rasp. I'm not against using non-raspy voice on some songs but he has to use it properly which is quite hard without practicing.

Openers for Europe/NA 2017
in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS

I would love to see AFI on some dates as they will be in Europe by the same time as GN'R. They even covered My Michelle a while ago. But it's more like my personal wish than real possibility as I don't think they would be a good fit neither are big enough anymore to open for reunited Guns.
