  1. 1)  Oklahoma City 1992-First GnR show and didn't disappoint.  Waiting for 2 hours sucked after Smashing Pumpkins got booed off stage, but the show made up for it

    2)  Arlington, TX 2016-The first leg of the NITL tour and it was awesome.

    3)  Tulsa, OK 2017-Amazing show with Dave Grohl coming on for Paradise City and Taylor Hawkins rocking next to us in the pit during Rocket Queen

    4)  Oklahoma City 2019-Not an amazing show, but really good with Dead Horse (first time since 93) and Locomotive back to back.  Special for me to take 2 sons to their first rock show

    5)  Irving, TX 1992-Texas Stadium with Metallica.  Pretty good energy in the crowd but Axl was pissy and they played for 90 minutes flat.  Don't think they even did an encore but can't remember for sure.  Metallica was pretty great though.  Hated the acoustics in there.

  2. Listened to the youtube leak a couple of times and thought Monsters was pretty great.  The General was underwhelming but I've stayed away from most of the locker stuff so expectations were pretty hard to live up to.  It'll be fun to listen more and hope it grows on me a bit.

Fun distraction from work for a while though checking out all this forum action.

  3. It's awesome, I keep playing it. I think it's even better than the album version because of his energy. When P5 posted 'PROSTITUTE!!!' at first I didn't believe it, and immediately thought: Hope that goes well... But it's great, it gave me goosebumps. It's just perfect to me.

And I wasn't bothered by the singing along this time. It's nice to have people singing along with a lesser known song. So Axl can see it's not in vain, it's not only keyboard warriors that appreciate a change in the setlist from time to time, people who actually attend the shows are also very excited  Their reaction in the beginning is great.

Can't wait to see what the last two shows will have to offer...

I think he didn't move around too much because it's a song they have hardly played live, he seemed to be looking at the teleprompter quite often. It seems to me that he really went all out to make it a success, and so it was.

    This was an A-plus performance.

Axl was on fire and sounded amazing on both songs.

Axl still has it, and I really hope all the positive press for this show gives him and Beta some real confidence and they quickly head into the studio!!!!!!!

So true on both of these! I haven't had GnR goosebumps for a long time but I got 'em at the 3:00 mark when he nailed it and seemed to get a little pumped up himself.

  4. Drop all covers but KOHD and LALD (I'd drop LALD but let's be real), and give us a piano-and-axl-only version of Prostitute. At least the first verse and chorus and then straight to November Rain. That would be awesome.

Nailed it. Great idea. I'd love to hear a stripped down Prostitute before November Rain.

If I was doing the set list I wouldn't have a Dizzy solo and the covers would be a little bit more well-known. Dizzy's solo at the show I went to in '11 was not appreciated at all and I think the crowd would get a lot more hyped for the opening riff of Hair of the Dog or Black Dog or something like that than an AC/DC song that a lot of the audience doesn't know.

  5. I don't think it would be huge by any means, but I do think there are probably a few non-forum peeps who would be interested to find out that the story Slash and Duff have been saying for years may be false.

One thing I bet ya it would do is get a response from those 2. It could be very interesting to hear that!

  6. Cornrows/braids and dreadlocks are two completely different things, S&T. Braids CAN be attached to your existing hair to make up for losing some. Dreads come from not taking care of your natural hair and it growing together however you want to "shape" it.

I love me some Axl, but I have no doubt those cornrows in 02 and 06 were nothing but attempts to fight father time and combat a loss of hair. Braiding makes hair shorter so for the 02 braids to be that long his reg hair would have to have been down to his waist almost. Hardly anything about them looked natural to me. Not slamming him, cuz it would really be tough to deal with that as a celebrity and lots of us would probably do something like that if we were in that position, too. Oh well.

  7. Before I go and catch up on these last 12 pages of comments, I'm gonna go out on a real limb here and predict that Volcano, Soulmonster and Ali have all defended Beta's message?

If this is all true, then I don't know how even the most devoted fanboys can defend it. Axl should be embarrassed to have this woman representing him. One humiliating event after the other. They are turning this band into an absolute joke.

Axl has always done this and apparently it's Beta's style as well.

They focus on the ONE bad apple instead of concentrating on the 18 apples in the bunch that are still in great condition.

One guy leaks a 10-year-old song that doesn't have Axl on vocals. Be mad at him - all night long. I agree. If the leaker is in your camp - fire him. More power to ya.

BUT........and this but is as big as Oprah's............the response from GnR fans has been about 90% positive. And the response from the general public has been, for the most part, more positive than negative.

BUT instead of sitting back and going "holy cow - people are really loving this song. Our fanbase is stoked and exciting and saying they wish they could hear more, and people are excited for a new album, and some people are even saying this single could be a huge radio hit.....let's get the ball rolling! How exciting that almost everybody loves this song."

Instead of that...............we get angry messages about how people have ruined the fun and ruined everything. RUINED what fun? Your fans are desperate for new music, and they LOVE the new song they just heard. Your fans are HAPPY right now to hear anything GnR related. DOESN'T THAT MEAN ANYTHING TO YOU????

Just friggin once I'd love to see Axl and Beta put the MILLIONS OF AXL FANS first.

Just like the BBF chat thing. So 100 posters on here would LOVE to chat with bandmembers, but 4-5 guys are jerks about it..............so instead of concentrating on the 100 positive people, they let the 5 negative people run thes show. Instead of answering and chatting with the positive people (the majority) and ignoring the negatives "stupid question, next"........they just refuse to come back. F*ck the 100 positive people, the 5 negative people are the only thing that matters.

    It's just ridiculous.

I hate that Axl and Beta/her children have the attitude.

The fans are NOT your enemy. They are the reason that you guys live in that huge mansion and live like kings.

BETA............AXL..............how about concentrate on your MILLIONS of fans who love you and are dying to support your career by buying new music and seeing you on tour, and STOP focusing on the few negative people out there?????

    ********************

Axl-Morris...........how do you explain the fact that this forum is 10 times more active than HTGTH where nothing negative is allowed?

    Well put. Very good points!

  8. earlier this year, Richard did a guitar workshop in Oklahoma and said it will come out late this year or next year. There is a video of him saying it that I posted awhile ago.

This was before Axl said yada yada about Silkworms.

He 100% said it. Out of the clear blue just when they asked him about what he's doing this year--"We've got stuff recorded and we hope it get it out this year." Then I asked him afterward if it was CD or newly done stuff and he emphatically said "Oh, new stuff."

I've looked all over for video of that and couldn't find it, Twat. Could you please point me in the right direction for the video? Thx.

  9. i wonder if there is more pending on this issue... im not sure i accept the twitter comment as the official response to the questions posed. It would be great for someone to ask Fernando or Beta that question, confirm if that was the official response.

This is what I was thinking, too.

It sure wouldn't be hard to type up a quick little paragraph and post it someplace.

"Hey guys, thanks so much for all the support you give us. Sorry that we don't have more set in stone right now, but we're working on getting some exciting stuff done. There's some music on the not-too-distant horizon and a live DVD is still coming out. We don't have all the release scheduling finished yet, but as soon as we do we'll make sure you guys hear about it. Stay tuned and thanks again!"

    Is that so hard???

  10. The article seemed more focused on the business aspects, in which case it was pretty damned spot on. Chinese Democracy was the model for how *not* to release a come back album.

One of the points I can not agree with more is that the record should have been released in 2000 when it was 99% finished until Roy Thomas Baker recommended that Axl re-record it.

That's exactly what I took out of it, also. Great points. Still think there's a good chance that if CD had come out in 2000 or Nov 2002 we'd all be having different conversations about it and its commercial success.

Of course, after 11 years who knows how much we would even still be talking about it??? We might be talking about bucket's new mask or Robin's new hair cut.

  11. Anyone who posts on this board but says they never want to see a reunion is so full of crap it's pathetic. .

    +1

I don't want to see a reunion, it just wouldn't work. Too much water under the bridge. I saw them at their peak and I think if they got together now it would be a big let down for them and the fans..

You're full of crap for not respecting other peoples opinion, who made you forum dictator?

Of all the absolute shit that gets spewed on this board every day, you pick this to zero in on and call me a dictator??? Get over yourself.

  12. Fortus was a well known session player within 'the industry' before joining GN'R, from what I understand.

This and that is it. It's the same reason Slash used Josh Freese on his album. They're both ridiculously talented musicians known for their professionalism and work ethic.

Fortus said at a seminar that it would "blow you guy's minds" if people knew how many bands he played guitar for on their albums. Mostly unbeknowst to the artists. He then said that Freese did a ton more of it than him. Producers have them come in at night and clean up or re-record the parts.

It would be interesting to know when that offer was made, though.
