Trying to be objective I'd say Perhaps is about a 6/10, maybe 6.5/10.

There's a good song there that suffers from some odd mixing choices, repeated lyrics and a weak solo. Like Absurd, I'm expecting the live versions will be a lot better, and I'm looking forward to hearing it in Vancouver.

(For reference I'd say Hardschool is about 5/10 and Absurd maybe a 2/10)

agree with everything you said except absurd is not even 2 for me..

can't stand too much FX on axl's vocals

they need a less is more approach

my wife just asked me to pause the song because she was sure there was something else playing in the background.. told her that this is CD era axl... so 98347938457 parallel tracks running

Loved it! Just back at the hotel,  not a bad track at all, shame the didn't play a couple more but absolutely brilliant

who else does a 3 hour set without a pause? i think nobody.. i think this is the last thing you can complain about

  3. best £38 ever spent - they played coma! i would have paid £38 just for coma alone..

unfortunately i was the only person singing it end to end and then I realised people around me were looking at me like im a freak for knowing coma's lyrics lol.. f them.

axl didnt take an oxygen break before or during the song which i thought was crazy.. somewhat suicidal even. laryngitis around the corner.

there were some mickey moments of course and i think hard skool absurd back to back was a mood killer for most but overall much better than tottenham concerts last year and probably better than the Nitl concert in the olympic stadium a couple of years back..

    Long time lurker here!!

Been on the fence for so long on whether to go for this one but fuck it. The guys seem on fire, Axl 61 so this is probably my last decent chance, and they kept dangling Perhaps in front of me!! :hahafyou:

So here I am! Very very hype! Seriously considering skipping half a day of work to go see Darkness too

Only thing is .. I hope I read the last few pages 20 min ago. I bought my ticket for face value from AXS and reading some of you lots getting 1/3 face value ..... wish I thought of resale :violin:

Anyway hype train is on! Perhaps it is the General's night tonight! Any one of you going and want to group up do feel free to inbox!

BST hyde park is just about the worst place to watch a concert. Extremely high drink prices, sun shining directly on to the stage in a way that makes it impossible to see the screens clearly (but luckily today is cloudy), very strict 22:30 curfew (so the whole show is before when it is fully dark)..

GN'R was really bad with their timing in the last two London shows. So people are mad at them. They were never going to sell out a place as big as hyde park. They poured all the money into instagram advertising etc but nothing worked. They created artificial scarcity and tried to drip-feed tickets into the system and that didn't work either. I bought my ticket for £38 but today there will be tickets going all the way down to £10-15 i'm sure. Only reason I'm going is because 1) they say the band is on fire and axl made a huge effort in glastonbury - there is a desire to change and get better and I can only respect that as a long time die hard fan, 2) i live very close to hyde park so it feels like it would be inappropriate for me not to go (as if axl is going to scold me for not coming :D :D)

Golden Circle tickets are also around £110 and below face value right now.

I blame fernando for all this. Worst manager ever. And their background screen animations are far too old-school and cheap looking as well. I can't believe they still let that happen..

  5. I can tell you that any London show in Hyde Park in June is a show where the stage is directly facing the sun until around 9:30pm and it doesn't get dark until the end of the show at 10pm. I think this creates an awful rock concert experience.

There is a strict curfew at 10pm as the area is surrounded by some of the worlds poshest hotels and houses. It won't go a minute past 10pm.

Considering how late the band was to the last London concert in Tottenham and how short their setlist ended up being.. I can imagine them showing up at 9pm and playing for just an hour. 30th June is a late festival date in Europe. By the time they get to London, they will have played in at least 15 other festivals around Europe (rock am ring, graspop etc. and possibly also Glastonbury which is the highest profile festival they could ever play at). By the time Axl is London, his throat will be gone again and he will need to bring more than just C. Underwood to save the day.

Anyway... consider the above before paying 2x-3x the amount to see a band in Central London. You aren't paying for a good concert experience, you are paying for the sheer cost of organising any big gathering in one of the wealthiest areas in the world.

I wish they played at o2... but they never do as they only seem to go for max $/minute these days.

I haven't made up my mind yet on whether I will go but I don't think there is any rush because this one won't 'really' sell out. Ever. It will be made to look 'artificially sold out' by ticketmaster as they regularly use this drip-feeding tactic but it won't ever fully sell out. If it does, there will be plenty of cheap 2nd hand tickets on the market too going under the face value.
