  2. "Your only validation is in living your own life

a vicarious existence is a fucking waste of time

So I send this song to the offended

I said what I meant and I've never pretended

As so many others do, intending just to please

If I damned your point of view

Could you turn the other cheek".

The attitude and passion in the lyrics is what I admire most about Axl.

  3. I have all of the Guns albums on sealed Lps and also a bunch of promo/limited edition media as well. At first the obsession was driven by owning a rare Gun's Lp, etc. You know, the stuff that you used to see in the record store window, but was not for sale or you could never afford as a kid.

Now though, it is more about owning a piece of history. Some collect them due to their worth. I believe that value is kind of irrelevant though, as quite a bit of the Gun's stuff has remained stagnant in value since the mid 2000's. In saying that though, The true value of these collectables is in the eye of the beholder!

  4. I bought the cassettes from Kmart at Eastland, Aus, with my work experience money. My brother and I then found that Brashs were selling the Australian celebration edition (Gold picture disc with Coma T/shirt) a little while afterwards, so he bought UYI II and I purchased UYI I. The cassettes were well used and are long gone, but we still have our celebration edition boxes. I have even managed to curb the urge and keep mine sealed.

  5. I parked along Linlithgow ave yesterday, it's the closest road to the Bowl. There are no parking fees there on the weekend. Just be aware that the Grand Prix is on so it should be busy. It took me a couple of slow drives up and back before i found someone pulling out.

Is there any where to park near the music bowl ?

  6. There were two fellas, on seperate occassions, that became a little voilent, so security ejected them. The show continued on while this happened. Axl said "asshole, the power chords must have got to him" while the first fella was being shown the door. And with the lady friend, Axl kindly inzipped her leather jacket to expose her puppies. They then tryed to bounce, what looked like, Twisties off them into Axl's mouth.

  7. What an amazing show. Axl and the boys appeared to be having a great time. Ron charged around on stage and even took Axl's mic from him at one point. Tommy clowned around to the point that he balanced on one leg, karate kid style, for the duration of a sustained final musical note. Richard freely moved around the stage showing his usual energetic style of playing. Frank was unstoppable on the kit with plenty of extra drum fills and energy. Chris and Dizzy didn't miss a beat either with Dizzy clearly showing his talent during his solo. Hats off to DJ Ashba for continually attempting to flick his picks to a couple of disabled fellas up on the second level seating. After a couple of failed attempts DJ made his way upto the disabled fellas via a rear entry door and knelt down between both of them while still playing. You can't get much more up close and personal than that. Axl appeared to be having a ball. He showed plenty of energy with strong vocals for most of the show. The interaction between the band and the audience was fantastic with DJ, Ron, Richard and Tommy continually communicating with the fans. Axl even poured some beers and handed them to the fans, via security of course. He even introduced us all to a lady friend of his and her nicely rounded puppies! To round it up, everyone, except the two ejected people, appeared to have a great time. And regardless of the cold and rain the place was full, with the exception of the most distant lawn area. Here's hoping that you guys get the same kind of experience, that i did, with the remaining shows.

  8. Looking forward to a night of madness in Melbourne. Let's make this a show that Axl and the boys will remember. rock3

  9. The introduction to this thread is an interesting read, but i don't believe that we should be making assumptions about a person that we do not personally know. It is so easy to draw conclusions about someone, whether they be murderers or millionaires , that we have read about in the newspapers or magazines. As much as some of us would like to think so, i don't believe that any of us here are phycologists and therefore don't have the right to draw conclusions on someone's mental state. Axl is Axl whether we like it or not. Each to their own.
