So,
I finally opened up my Hard Skool clear vinyl I received as a gift with my membership this year because I wanted to hear the live tracks and got a pretty big surprise.
For starters, the beginning of Absurd (live) has pretty heavy static on it for a new record but even crazier, Shadow Of Your Love (live) is incomplete!!!! The grooves on the vinyl end abruptly at the start of the last verse, in the middle of a word "And I ain't stand..(ends) . The rest of the last verse and the end of the song are not on the vinyl.
I was just wondering if anyone else ran across these "issues" or if I'm just the lucky recipient of the extremely rare 2/3 complete version of Shadow Live !!!
It was a little hard to do with the clear vinyl but I included the picture to see if the grooves look noticeably different than the ones anyone else might have.
I can't imagine getting much help from Guns customer service since this was a "free" gift but wanted to see if anyone else had this problem.
Also, if any kind soul is feeling festive and would allow me to listen to these tracks clean and complete it would make a great early Christmas present and would be much appreciated!

For those that are interested it premieres this Sunday .
From the commercial I saw, Marc Canter is one of the people interviewed for the documentary. He's also mentioned in this article.

Maybe we could vote on all the music videos next.
Not on the songs themselves but strictly on the videos made for them. It would take awhile though, there's a lot of them.
We could vote on them all together or split them up by albums
and even have an unreleased category which would have Better, You Could Be Mine (Directors Cut), My Michele Live, I Don't Care About you etc.
of course if we want it to be complete we'd have to have a category to vote on the best lyric video too
could be fun
We'll see if Estranged still beats out Jungle

Thanks for pointing out the additional link!
I don’t get to read every page of every thread so I missed that completely. I’ll check out the River is Rising clip now too.

I received my cassette and cd last week, they arrived pretty quickly after they announced they were being prepared to ship but I guess that isn’t the case with everyone.
For people like me who only bought the cassette or cd, does anyone know where I could hear the live version of Absurd from the vinyl?
-
Yeah, I know.
Another album with new material and a free live stream for everyone to see ,where you perform the whole album live. Plus interviews and TV guest appearances where things are discussed and openly promoted and not shrouded in a complete fog of mystery.
Where did Slash get such crazy f**kin marketing ideas?

For those who haven't heard and are interested Slash will be streaming a free " Live at Studios 60" concert on his youtube channel next Friday. The band will be performing the new album in it's entirety. Afterward there is a Q & A session for youtube premium members.
I just found out about it and thought I'd give everyone a heads up.

I'd be interested to Hear David talk about image 326.
It's from the same photo shoot where he discussed getting his old photo slide back recently and Slash's couch. In this image though it looks like Slash has a four track cassette recorder set up on the table being propped up by a box of cassettes. I wonder if David remembers if he was recording anything while he was there, or perhaps if he played any of his four track demos for him.

Russ,
Just want to say I'm a fan of your channel ! I found out about it here when you posted messages about the GNR related ones but have since watched more Non GNR related videos on your channel and enjoyed them a bunch even when it's not stuff I'm super into.
I saw the video where you showed the GNR Vegas reunion 2016 bootleg vinyl and was just wondering if or how many other GNR bootleg vinyls you have in the collection ? I've been collecting GNR boot vinyls since I was a teenager and would love to see your reviews of some of those if you have them in the collection. I'm not sure if there's much demand for that or whether you'd bother shooting a video for it either way but would still be interested to know if you've collected any others. Looking at how large your vinyl collection is, seems like you might have a few other GNR boots in there somewhere.

My favorite has always been the first one they released, Marquee 87 . Even though it's live I prefer it hands down . I think it's way better than the Illusions version. The one without the phone call is also preferable to me than the album version, never cared for the whole phone call interlude crap.
My least favorite "version" was always the 92 Illusion tour arrangement, where they stretched it to twenty minutes and added the "give me some reggae section". It was just too much for me, I usually skip it when I listen to those shows. I just don't think Knockin has to be twenty minutes long.

Hey everyone,
I just read in the paper here in NY this morning that at The Tribeca Film Festival this month there's going to be the premiere of a new Shannon Hoon documentery that is composed completely of the "home videos" he shot of himself throughout his career going right up till the day he died. It says there are no interviews or voiceovers from anyone else, just completely Shannon speaking in his own words and shooting the footage. I'm a big Blind Melon fan too so it sounds really interesting. For those who aren't it mentions that there is also footage of him backstage in Los Angeles hanging out with Axl and Slash in the movie. Don't know if that's the only footage with Guns but thought I'd spread the news because it will definitely be footage no one has seen before. Lets all hope it's not just a six second snippet !

Hey everyone
I ended up getting two of the Duff vinyl slip mats that came with the more expensive Nightrain fan club membership packages from last year . I'm not looking to sell it but was just wondering if anyone had an extra Axl or Slash one they'd like to trade for the Duff one.
Thanks

Yes I have that one also. Didn't bother listing it since it's a thicker graphic novel and didn't come out in the 90s, so I wasn't sure if Kevin would be interested. It is a pretty thorough retelling of the story though and even goes into the breakup, Velvet Revolver , Buckethead etc.
Did you enjoy it?

I just watched the video and saw that Kevin asked that if there were other comics then people should add a comment about them. There are actually 7 other GNR comics from the 90s and I have all of them. There's a large (magazine size) version of the Revolutionary comics issues he shows in this video. There's also a Revolutionary Comic of Guns n Roses 91. There's also one that's called Guns N Roses Live, which covers some of the 91 shows. The last Revolutionary comic was called Greatest Hits which was just portions of the first issue, 91 and Live comics reprinted together. Two other companies also put out comics , one of them did a stand alone issue and the last company did a two issue series on them. I included the covers if Kevin or anyone else cares to check them out.
Another fun fact that some might not know about these comics is Axl was very upset about that first Unauthorized comic that came out and how they were portrayed. I believe he even sued them to try to have it yanked from stores. The comic company even spoke about it themselves in later printings of the first issue. Guess he lost because they kept coming out with the later issues but the company did eventually go out of business. These comics were by NO means totally accurate or even illustrated that well but were fun when I originally bought them as a kid . I also have the Aerosmith, Metallica and The Doors double issue that was released when the Doors movie came out. Even though they were comic books they sure don't shy away from all these bands sex life, drug abuse, craziness etc.

I'd appreciate if someone could PM me as well. I'd love to hear it.

It's definitely a bootleg. I have it myself. It's from the Ritz 88 show. There are better sounding audio sources for the show. It would probably only be of interest to someone who collects GNR bootleg vinyl. By now you can get more complete and better sounding Ritz audio even on vinyl. To be honest I wouldn't really know what you should sell it for if you want to get rid of it. It is rarer than some of the other bootleg 7 inches but not sure what a proper asking price would be.

For those that are interested , it's pretty much a live performance piece of Duff reading excerpts from the book with backing from a live band. It's interspersed with little animation portions, interviews with family, Duff, Slash and Matt and some live/family footage. Not much GNR footage at all but an interesting performance. For those that haven't read the book it presents a pretty good "live" adaption/ visual representation of the book.

It definitely has some Marc footage in it . VERY short clips so far but stuff I haven't seen before.

Hey everyone,
Don't know if it's been discussed yet but I just stumbled upon the Duff documentary on Netflix. I didn't even know it was released yet. Just started watching now. Figured I'd pass along the news for those who didn't know.

Yeah, I actually never got to meet him . Nice name huh, Sweetheart ? From what Danny told my brother and I he could be anything but a sweetheart sometimes. He was the first person to go I'm pretty sure because he was very hard to deal with. Danny got a new singer for The Vibes .
Though, I don't know how true that all is because we all know lead singer's are usually humble and very easy to deal with
The whole album is on youtube if you want to check it out
Whiskey A Go G0 1986 full video on youtube as of three hours ago!!!!
