I think it's now safe to assume that the only way we'll hear the finished tracks (The General, Atlas, Soul Monster, etc.) is after the current lineup completely reworks them. God knows how long that's gonna take.

Too bad, since the current finished versions with Bucket and Robin will probably never be heard, other than possible leaks.

Great write up and I agree with all of it, even inspired a little...but I still think Scraped is weak/a filler. It don't really matter as all albums have them but not up to some of the highs.

I managed to get to the front of the 02 in London last year, by hanging around early but the security was cool and they let you go for pisses and by beer etc and go back. You did well dude!

There were signs pointing to Chinese Democracy being released in 2002 - new songs were actually being played, Axl unveiling the album artwork, etc. But the album wasn't released for 6 more years! So I don't look at the signs indicating anything, I look at the results. Axl said in December 2008 the Better video would be out "in a week or so" - there were signs indicating it would come out (CD recently came out so it made logical sense for there to be a music video) - but it didn't come out. I'm not trying to be negative, but this is reality - "signs" don't make it so, especially regarding anything GNR related

Great news, I hope this is the start of CD promotion.

I know this might sound stupid on these boards but along with Cosmonaut by Wolfmother and Learn To Be Still by The Eagles, this is probably my favorite song of all time by any band. First time I heard it I was speechless! Epic song, epic solos, epic vocals! Too bad Axl can't really play it live... It's like nuGnR's Sweet Child O' Mine, should be really good live.

Interesting interview. God, things have changed. He seems pretty chatty in the interview, now we mainly get radio silence and the odd cryptic tweet!?

It is very quiet on the band front at the moment. I hope that means that they are working on a release.

It is amazing that absolutley nothing has been leaked. Either they have shut right down or security is realllly tight!
