  1. Voted yes. They're pretty amazing, and Bruce Dickinson is my all-time favorite vocalist. I pretty much enjoyed every single album. Rime, Moonchild, Starblind, Paschendale, Loneliness, Mother Russia, Afraid To Shoot Strangers, Sign of the Cross, The Clansman, The Thin Line, Killers. . . just pure awesome.

However, a point against them for practically copying a song in Hallowed and Nomad. :P

  2. I saw Rush on my birthday (June 20th). I'm gonna see Judas Priest, BLAZE and Yngwie Malmsteen (twice) later this year. If the price goes down, I might see Dir en grey in December, but it's pretty unlikely,

I hate you guys for seeing Iron Maiden. :P I can't afford to travel and they didn't come to California this year.

May/June, next year. That's all I can say right now ;)

Really? :D Well, looks like I'm seeing Maiden in May/June next year then, for sure. The only thing I didn't like about this year's setlist was the lack of Starblind and, to a lesser extent, the lack of Isle of Avalon. But at least The Evil That Men Do is back in the setlist.

If next year is TFF brought to North America, I'll be happy. If next year is Maiden England rehashed, I'll be equally happy. Maiden England has by far my favorite setlist from any band. SSOASS is my favorite Maiden album. :)

  4. Thirdly, the majority of kids and youth today(with an exception of myself) don't get into this type of rock music anymore. Kids today don't know what good music is. And because of that the radio never caught onto it. I'm pretty sure Britney Spears was number 1 on the charts when Chinese Democracy was released and that says a lot.

I agree with your entire post except this part. "Good music" is subjective. For some people, Britney Spears is the person that speaks to them the way GN'R speaks for us. What makes us so superior? :P

But I liked the rest of your post. :)

  5. Axl Rose.

Me, too. I've always been a casual fan of GN'R up until very recently when I went to see a tribute to GN'R and remembered how awesome they were. I started looking up some songs, but while I was looking them up, I noticed that everybody had something to say about Axl Rose -- and it was usually negative. I've always kind of looked at him as a controlling, self-serving A-hole, but, for some reason, that bothered me in this instance. I decided that he couldn't be all bad. So I started looking into things. The more I found out about him, the more I realized that either he's not a bad guy or that I, too, am a controlling, self-serving A-hole (to a smaller extent maybe). All the things he did that were bad made perfect sense to me. So I dropped my outlook on him and opted for a new one. Now I adore him.

While I was doing this, I stumbled upon a little song called, "Coma." That song is the most relatable song I've ever heard. It was perfect. That song made me officially a fan of the band, and it made me fall in love with Axl's voice. I started seeing Axl as an artist, not a dictator. His on-stage charisma added to my newfound respect for him.

Yeah, I know I shouldn't suddenly like someone's character based upon music and performing, but I dunno. It makes everything seem all the more honest, and it's this honesty that makes me adore GN'R. That and the attitude evident in every song.

For me, my love for Guns stems from Axl, and the amazing musicianship of Izzy, Slash, Duff, Buckethead and all the others is just the icing on the cake.
