Yeah understand your point and I would be frustrated if I had tickets to a show that was cancelled, but it's probably fair to say that since 2006 it would be in excess of 90% of advertised shows have gone ahead...

With regards to releasing of songs - we had an official release of CD for March 2007 that came and went (with no update), secret releases of Absurd and Hark Skool, Perhaps release date leaked and delayed, then this delay. So currently they have not managed to hit one single date of any original music release since TSI.

You know what’s funny, I spent hundreds of dollars I earned on those tickets and not a word about the cancellation. We were supposed to just accept the non answer.

And that's not going to happen when 95% of the audience goers are "casuals" who doesn't care about new music or how the band functions as long as they get to hear Sweet Child O' Mine and November Rain once every few years.

    Always have something don’t ya

Yeah that's fair - but to counter the point, at least with a show ticket you know you will get a show. Whether you think you get your money's worth or not, that's a different story, but still you actually get something tangible.

Not always. I stated that I bought tickets to a show in 2002 and they pulled the plug on the tour.

this is habitual and coming from someone who is quite literally the definition of a double talker.

Yeah agreed here but the principle remains.

Currently I'm £15 down which absolutely pales in comparison to the money I've spent on the 19 shows I've attended, but the point remains that if they treat us with utter contempt then honestly they can shove it.

You know it’s easy to just say it’s only 15 bucks

What’s the problem now? The truck that transport it was broken?

is ridiculous, it supposed to be produced or at least advanced when they promoted it

Well I guess that's one way of looking at it. For me if I saw "Perhaps official release 📅 available in-store jbhifi" and I turned up to the shop and it wasn't there I'd be disappointed a little. When I see just a shipping date I have no expectations of seeing it even close to that date. That's just me. If I look at it as a promise then I'm inevitably setting myself up for a negative emotional reaction. I won't preach about how people should live their lives, just voicing an alternative way that works well for me.

I bought tickets to a guns show in 2002. They canceled the tour.

this band has a bad history

This is basically how I feel.

After years and years of no new music, we finally get our first unheard song in 15 years. We’re all excited and impressed GNR did something cool and unexpected. They released a music video. They actually promoted their song. A delay is one thing. But the sheer audacity of delaying it 6 weeks the day off without telling anyone is downright disrespectful. I really don’t think it’s going to be released anymore at all.

I almost think GNR management has had enough with our side of the fanbase and is trying to just get rid of us. A lot of the hardcore fans seem very burned over this, and I don’t think I’m really going to be supporting the band anymore myself. People will write this off as a conspiracy, and it may be, but there’s almost no other explanation that makes sense. It really feels like the hardcore fans are just hated and something management and the band would rather be without.

You’ll just be told that it’s all your fault for expecting anything and gaslighted into oblivion by ass lickers on here

you are entirely justified in your feelings btw

You lot are a bunch of piranhas, calm the fuck down haha. You guys just made me realise why I would never ever consider taking up a leading position in politics, The I want all and I want now type of crowd. Hard pass on that one.  The song will be out whenever the creators of said song will damn well please

    People are rightfully pissed here.

Oh fuck off.  Seriously, go fuck yo mamma.

Last night I told everyone to just stay calm and sit back and wait, cause once that vinyl reaches even ONE person that doesn't have a legal obligation, this song will spread amongst fans like wildfire and there's no way to ever put the genie back in the bottle.

Well....that all depended on it ever actually being pressed to vinyl.

I no longer believe this record is going to be manufactured.  The band will just cancel all orders, refund any money already collected, and call it a day.

The only way we were ever gonna get this song is if the physical record came out, and it's clear now that that is not going to happen.

It's possible the song was never really even supposed to be released.  It might have been dangled in front of us like a crowdfunder....get so many orders and the record will go ahead.  Not enough orders, you get nothing.  Or maybe this was yet another example of Axl claiming he was never "informed" and when he found out, he pitched a fit and got it canceled.

We will not be getting The General.  This release is never going to see the light of day, despite the obvious bullshit Fernando is trying to pull.

Those of you thinking a "digital release" is imminent and will finally deliver....stop.  It's not going to happen.  If they wanted this song to be released digitally, it would have been.

When December 8th rolls around, you'll get another email, this time informing you that the record was flat-out canceled.

Our one chance to hear this song was this weekend, as fans started to get early copies of the record.  THE RECORD DOES NOT EXIST.  We will NOT hear this song!

    Accept it.

For the record, I was being facetious.

im sad that I agree with you on everything here
