  1. ^No doubt there would be a gap, but don't kid yourself that the label wouldn't take a professional manager's word worth a grain of salt either.

The label will be aware of Beta’s history as Axl’s wife’s house keeper, & more recently Axl’s personal assistant and mother. Hopefully the music speaks for itself.

If they know her reputation, then they hopefully know she's not to be fucked with. Finally, someone who's not going to sell Axl out.

  2. Having beta as a manager keeps all GnR doings in house, thats not really a good thing. She is axls rock and she should stay that way. There is always disagreements in buisness and sometimes you have to do things you dont want to,being so close to GnR in personal ways i would believe that it would be hard to play hardball with him and make him listen and comply with thing he doesnt want to hear or do.Pressure is the name of the buisness game like it or not you have to be forcefull to succeed.he needs her by his side not dictating things which is what a manager must do.Hope it all works out for them but from experience buisness and family dont mix well and they are as close as family can get.

That's actually a good point, and I agree. But I do think that a lot of time, Axl will not let someone play hardball with them. It's going to be his way or the highway.

BUT... I do feel like Beta has already proven that she can be tough. She did that when she gave Axl the ultimatum and told him she'd leave him if she couldn't manage the band. Match point: Beta. In a way she's proven she has the ultimate leverage, because he would never want her to leave him. And especially not take Fernando and Vanessa. But she should not abuse that power, and only threaten to leave Axl when it's really important to the surivival of the band, like in the instance of management, or if it could prevent a riot.

  3. Dude, he was playing 3 hour + shows every night. I promise you it's way more than you'll get from an average rock show. If you're waiting for a five hours how to be impressed, then keep on waiting.

99% of managing the band is keeping Axl happy. And who knows more about keeping Axl happy than Beta?

    Period.

  4. All of the above please! Also, I think it would be very cool if Axl released something totally unexpected and out of left field -- like a book pf poetry or the long awaited autobiography that finally sets the record straight.

  5. How much pressure is there on Beta now? Considering the personal relationship that her and Axl have. Now she's the manager, this could end up badly personally and professionally.

Or it could be the best thing that's ever happened to Guns N' Roses. Judging from the 2011 Super Tour, the great press, Axl doing publicity, and management clearly stating that they're working on releasing the new album, I think only a hater would try and conclude that this is she's doing a bad job.

  6. I just hope the industry takes Beta and family seriously. Otherwise we may not see Axl for for a long long time again.

Imagine yourself as an executive of GNR's record label, or livenation (or whatever that touring agency is called), you have a MASSIVE band like GNR on your roaster as a potential money making device. The manager of this massive band is the lead singer's housekeeper who has no experience and her position was won basically through nepotism and being close friends with the singer. No legal training, no business training, no experience managing even small time artists. Would you respect them? Of course not. You may dismiss them, try and avoid working with them, or actually try and cheat them.

I'm betting the costs for the next tour will be more than they have been for previous tours as Beta will have no idea what she is doing or how to cut corners and save money.

Just because she's close with Axl and generally cares about him does not mean she is good to manage him. In fact, it could be quite the opposite even if she was competent in the industry. Bad call basically. I've thought Beta was bad for Axl for years now though.

But since you do not know them, your opinion is as informed as my opinion of aliens and ninjas.

Except a bit more informed than that. Also you could very well know quite a bit about ninjas, I know enough about them to form an opinion about them. Aliens, less so, but given the size of the universe they almost certainly exist whether in a more primitive form than us or more advanced. Probably both. So your opinion on those two things could be just as viable as my opinion on Beta managing GNR.

What has she been doing the past 15 years? Managing rock and roll bands? Nah, folding Axl's laundry. She is in fact Axl's housekeeper even if she is more involved in business than a regular housekeeper. If you think big time record execs won't laugh at that you're out of it. I'm a small time business graduate and I even laugh at that.

You don't have to know someone, or know every exact detail of a situation, to get some grasp on what's happening.

Okay, Mr. "I Believe In Aliens," I think you're being very condescending in the way you discuss Beta and her role in Axl's life. While I'm sure she does take care of many things including Laundry, she does so in more of a motherly role than a strictly professional housekeeper/client role. But that's missing the point... She's been with Axl. She knows how to manage and work with his uniquely challenging personality. She's the one who can get him on stage. And I do in fact think that she's played a very crucial role in the behind-the-scenes functions of the band. There have been numerous interviews and reports about her helping to select band and crew members for tours. You can be quite certain that she probably heard more of the album in production than anyone outside of Axl. She understands him, his vision, and the true story about how others have literally tried to destroy him. This is invaluable. Especially at this critical point in Guns N' Roses history.

  7. I think it's as simple as this: Axl believes in the band he and their music and does not want to reunite with the old guys. Even for money. Especially not for money. Every business manager has tried to get him to compromise. And why wouldn't they? Their goal is just to make as much money as possible, so in a way, who can blame them? But that puts stress on Axl. Other managers can manipulate and con and pressure Axl, or deceive him into rushing Chinese Democracy out with no promotion and incorrect linner notes just so they can cover their financial asses with the Best Buy deal. And who suffers? Axl.

With all the coming Hall of Fame reunion nonsense, there's going to be more pressure on Axl than ever. So who can he trust? Who among all the soulless music industry snakes can Axl really believe in? Who will not ultimately be trying to make the reunion score happen? There's only one person who truly understands the real story of what went down with Slash. Only one person who understands why that should never, ever happen, no matter how much money people would throw at him, and no matter how much great press and popularity he would get. Some things are just more important... like honor, dignity, art and yes, even family. So in this very difficult, but very crucial time for Guns N' Roses, Beta is the only person they can trust.

  8. I just hope the industry takes Beta and family seriously. Otherwise we may not see Axl for for a long long time again.

  9. You can't argue with results. And the results for 2011 have been purely magical. This tour has been amazing, Axl's done tons of promotion, he looks and sounds better than ever, we got Youtube, Twitter and Facebook updates, and Axl graciously through Duff and the old fans a bone by letting him open for them. If you're not impressed by this tour, then you simply will not allow yourself to be impressed by Guns N' Roses anymore. Which is your sad loss.

As for the Beta's ultimatum... at first, I was a little shocked by that. Not because I don't think she would make amazing manager -- I do, and think that this has been a long time coming. I was just a little shocked to because I do not think she should ever threaten to do something so severe as leaving Axl, even if iit's to help him in the long run by managing all his business affairs for him. It would be unforgivably terrible for her to betray Axl in that way and take her family away from him, especially after Stephanie Seymour did that too him and we all know how much that hurt Axl emotionally.

But I think deep down, she really wasn't going to do that. She was just saying that to get Axl to do what was in his best interest. So, in way, that proves that Beta has the hard-nosed, cut-throat negotiating skills necessary be a real business manager. Just so long as she uses her shark-like business skills for good -- like getting Chinese Democracy 2 released, and not something bad, like forcing Axl to reunite with the old band.

Can you imagine Beta dishing it out to the label bosses and record execs? Holy shit, heads are going to roll. Finally, Axl's got a real fighter in his corner.

  10. Judging from the 2011 results, as cruel as it seems, I think maybe Beta should have threatened to leave Axl unless she could be the manager years ago. From what we've read on the forum, she's been really cool to the fans at shows, sometimes giving them backstage passes. That, combined with her mother-like love for Axl tells me she has what it takes to be trusted with managing GnR's business.

  11. Usually, I would never, ever under any circumstances support anyone giving Axl an ultimatum like she did when she told Axl she would quit working with him if he didn't let her and her family be the managers.

    when did this happen?

I have no idea where this is coming from. I sincerely doubt the actual truth to it too (willing to be proven wrong though!)

    http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/news/music/la-et-12-20-axl-rose-interview-20111221,0,691973.story

""We decided, 'No more managers,'" said Lebeis a few days after the Seattle concert. "Between me and Fernando and my daughter, we're dealing with the management." Lebeis added that she characterizes Rose as "more than a son to me," and that after Katsis' departure, "I told [Rose] if he hires another manager, I quit." One of the Lebeis three is almost always at Rose's side, be it in paparazzi photos or side stage during concerts, near the little makeshift dressing room that Rose frequently races into during guitar solos, or on that rare occasion when he actually sits down with a journalist."

  12. After all the ups and downs and problems with shifty managers, I'm glad that Axl has finally put people he can trust in charge of the band. It's taken us along time to get to this point, but I have a really good, strong feeling that we are about to enter the the most productive, prolific period in Axl's career. He's granting interviews, and talking to fans and appearing in national media again, and seeming happy, and even talking up the next release. All while putting on the most blistering, ass-kicking live tour since Use Your Illusion. This can't be a coincidence. This has to all be product of effective, professional management that's sensitive to Axl's needs and supportive of his goals. I was especially encouraged to read about how Beta's going to help clear the way for a new album by dealing with the record label for Axl. Holy shit. That is just what the doctor ordered. She may be the one person tough enough to crack a few heads down at the greedy record company office and get Axl what he needs to put the next album out.

Usually, I would never, ever under any circumstances support anyone giving Axl an ultimatum like she did when she told Axl she would quit working with him if he didn't let her and her family be the managers. One, I do not think anyone should ever tell Axl Rose what he has to do. But also because I was a little worried to hear Beta threaten to leave Axl because we know how unique and special their relationship has been, and even if she was only saying that to motivate him to let her be the manager, it still seems a little extreme consdiering how much we know Axl loves and needs her. Nobody wants to lose their 'mother,' even if it's not his mother by blood, but the "Mother of the Band." But it worked, and now Axl for once has a Manager that he can trust completely and we can also be absoluitely sure that she will never try and get him to reunite with the old band because she, of all people, understands how hurtful they have been.

We've had some great times and some dark times with this band. But now that we've finally got Beta and people we can trust at the wheel, I really feel like we're about to enter the "Golden Years" of Guns N' Roses.
