Then there's Fan Dumb. Fan Dumb is the underbelly, where Serious Business becomes obsession. They are the fans who claim to be the watchdogs of their fandom, but in reality, they're the rabid dogs that need putting down. It's tempting to say literally.

The key characteristics of a Fan Dumb tend to be someone with an over-developed sense of entitlement and / or victimization and, usually, an under-developed sense of humour or perspective about the subject of their fandom, coupled with an obsessive level of an interest and, frequently, some rather irrational views on the whole thing. GNR were touring in 2002, a decade ago, with much the same Appetite heavy setlist, plus some 'new' stuff (Madagascar, Street of Dreams), a few solo spots, end with Paradise City.

Much the same in 2006 but we got a few leaked tracks (Better etc). Then even more of the same in 2010/2011, but we finally heard more of Chin Dem (ie the songs that werent leaked). Other than a few changes here and there, the basic skeleton of a GNR show has essentially been the same for years on end, and IMO looks tired and uninspiring (please... no more Jungle/Its So Easy/Brownstone in quick succession, I cant take it....). How many times has the band toured South America with the same setlist? Twice?.... hmmmm

I think the argument for the band to stop touring and start getting creative is completely valid at this stage of the game.

I think your desire for new music clutters your thinking. I, too, would prefer them to go to the studio and release music, rather than yet another tour, but I can't really complain when bands in general want to play their music, and as long as fans actually attend the shows it is from an artistic and economic perspective validated. And considering this is Guns N' Roses, any activity is more than what I would expect.
