  1. When RIR comes around, Axl will be playing with himself.

I'm just waiting for the next "will axl be at the next VMA's?" thread.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I think people are more optimistic about RIR because Axl has spoken about how much he loves that festival.

Agree that it's incredibly unlikely, though.

  2. I'm in the same boat, stev. Love Pearl Jam and have wanted to purchase a few of the official bootlegs they released -- but there's just too much bloody choice and everyone seems to have a different opinion on which one is the best.

There are a few suggestions here: Digital Dream Door - Pearl Jam

    11/6/00 Seattle, WA

Regarded by many to be the ultimate Pearl Jam bootleg, this was the last show of their 2000 world tour and took place in the grunge capital of Seattle. 3 discs of intense performances that are a must for any Pearl Jam fan.

    5/3/03 State College, Pennsylvania

The Penn State show spans three discs, holds several great cover songs, and shows that the band is still down to earth despite their fame. After struggling with 'Satan's Bed', Vedder recaptures the audience with two powerful performances, 'Rockin in the Free World' and 'Yellow Ledbetter'. This was the final show of the first leg of the Riot Act tour and the band clearly doesn't want the performance to end, as evidenced by the extended encore segments.

    6/11/03 Mansfield, Massachusetts

This epic, 44 song set is the longest show from the bands Riot Act tour. It is unique because the band chose to open for themselves with an excellent 12 song acoustic set, opening with one of the most emotional performances of 'Long Road' of their career. The main set doesn't offer quite as many hits as the Penn State show, but we do get some unique song choices, such as the trilogy of 'Nothingman', 'Betterman', and 'Leatherman'.

  3. Child in Time!!!!

Man that is one of the greatest song EVER.

John Lord and Ritchie Blackmore, greatest musical duo ever.

    The Purps fucking rock!  rock3

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

    This is all true.

My Dad absolutely loved 'em back in the day. Has all of their records, and used to play them very often and very loud when I was a kid. I consider myself very lucky to have grown up with such a healthy diet of quality rock n' roll. :shades:

  4. Cool lists everyone --- except that I'm still the only one to have Room A Thousand Years Wide in my top ten. Now there's a heavy song - crunching riff, ferocious drumming, and Cornell sounding like a fucking god!

    ;)

OK, here's another question for you all.

Which album is better? Badmotorfinger or Superunknown?

  5. Cool selections, dude.

It's funny, I owned Badmotorfinger and Superunknown for years and years, but only got around to buying Down on the Upside at the start of this year. Obviously I still need to put some serious time into the album, because it's not grabbing me by the throat like their other stuff - yet.

I'll give Ty Cobb and Unkind some serious playtime over the next few days. :shades:

  6. I've been on a bit of a Soundgarden binge lately. Here's my list:

    1) Limo Wreck

    2) Black Hole Sun

    3) Room A Thousand Years Wide

    4) Outshined

    5) Like Suicide

    6) Slaves & Bulldozers

    7) Fresh Tendrils

    8) Mailman

    9) Pretty Noose

    10) 4th Of July

I guess you can do a top five, if you can't be fucked thinking of ten. :tongue2:

  7. - Coma.

Physically impossible not to start headbanging when you hear that guitar riff from Slash. Duff and Matt keep the song rocking all the way through, and Axl's vocals are stunning.

    - Enter Sandman (Metallica).

Once again, it's the guitar riff that makes this song such a great headbanger. The Black Album is a guilty pleasure, probably my fav from Metallica.

    - Ace Of Spades (Moterhead)

God I love Moterhead, and this is the song that got me listening to them. Loud, hard and fast - just like a great rock song should be.

A number of AC/DC songs could make the list also. Thunderstruck, Hells Bells, Back in Black, Long Way To The Top, etc, etc.

You Could Be Mine would be my second fav from the Gunners.

And although I'm not their biggest fan, it's hard not to like Smells Like Teen Spirit from Nirvana.
