How is it unnatural to cure cancer? People die from cancer everyday. People don't die from "the awful moment waking up and still realizing they have a penis" disease. That hardly makes sense.

It IS unnatural to cure cancer.

If we were living in the wild, and your vision was impaired, you would die and your genes wouldn't be passed on. People invented glasses so that people can survive even if they have impaired vision. Same with cancer. Chemotherapy is natural? Get real. Curing cancer is unnatural, it's something humanity invented, basically to stop (or slow down) nature's natural selection.

Basically, pretty much everything we do, this day and age, is unnatural.

So a sex change is also unnatural. But it helps someone feel better. It makes someone happier. It gives a person another chance at a life that he didn't want to live, at first.

How is that like curing cancer? It is quite similar.

It fails to really pull me in and really care for the characters, like The Wire did.

I don't like the whole Lydia plotline. Bores me to tears. The rookie and his Officer I like watching, the chemistry and relationship between them is intriguing.

Although it is, like you say, character driven, not much is really happening. There's like one thing that happens each episode to each character. And the acting is sub-par. By practically everybody except the latino guy.

I saw ep of Touch seemed interesting but how do they keep that going.

Southland 4. Lucy Liu and Lou Diamond Philips join. no real story left to tell they are just rollin around waiting to get shot.

Finished season 1, on your advice, and the acting level is still cringe worthy. I like the rookie, he's a cool dude. The plot lines are also pretty mediocre. Can't believe you compared it to The Wire.

Anyway, I downloaded both first seasons, so I'll watch the second one, in hopes that it will be better.

Touch is crap.

Seriously. I can't believe so many people like it. It's awful.

if you like The Wire or The Shield check out Southland.

It's not as serious as those shows but it's funnier and more exciting and unpredictable, with more depth to characters.

Started watching Southland. Watched 3 episodes. The premise is cool. But so far the acting lvl: minus 5 stars.

It's not about the chords, it's about the chord progression.

They just transposed all the songs into the same scale. The progression is highly popular. They did an awesome job, though. Very funny.

You could basically take any 12 bar blues song and turn it into a huge million hour song, too. :-)

oz, no. it was good until season 3 until adabsi died. but then the story seemed to get so ridiculous! and even cheesy at some points. it ended terribly and left me cringing

I agree the ending was total bullshit. But the series as a whole was amazing. And the first three seasons are miles ahead of anything Mad Men will ever be.
