  1. So Lately I've been trying to get into some of the new "80's" bands. Crashdiet and Veins of Jenna mostly. As for new 80's bands this is prob as close as we will get. While I thse bands are ok, there is something about them that makes them sound too much like modern radio rock bands, and I can't decide what it is.

I mean they totally look the part, and I think thats pretty badass.

From what I can tell the guitar seems to be mostly there.

I think it may be the vocals that don't do it for me. I'm not sure.

Now I know they can't and maybe even aren't trying to sound 100% 80s, but for sake of discussion what makes it sound different?

  2. I hope people aren't misinterpretting my post wrong. I'm glad Axl kicked them off, I'm just questioning the Ulitmate-Guitar article, because I was pretty sure Axl had no intentions and never did ask them to come back.

  3. I was reading an article at ultimate-guitar.com: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/columns/fea...d_for_some.html . And they said this:

December: After publicly humiliating the Eagles Of Death Metal in front of an audience in late November, Axl attempts to woo them back as an opening act. Frontman Jesse Hughes informs his manager that Axl can “go and f**k himself.”

I was under the impression that Axl kicked them out and then EODM tried to "tell him off" and then THEY were the ones that tried to get back onto tour.

  4. Great song. Sebastian is the shit, I love that guy.

I will be gettting Angel Down also. It's good to hear somebody actually making good music like they used to make it. Not this Avenged sevenfold, green day, nickleback shit they play on they radio where all you can sing about is killing yourself because your gf left you.

  5. I like em both. King Diamond is better than Mercyful Fate I think(even though they are very similar). All of the King Diamond CD's are excellent.

  6. Who cares if he was? I know that the reason I like Nirvana isn't because of any of Kurt's views. The music just plain rocks.

    Nirvana were good. :)

No they weren't people just keep saying they were and you believe them!

    Haha. No.

I downloaded Smells Like Teen Spirit before I had even heard of Nirvana, and then got Nevermind without anybody telling me how great they are.

Just because someone likes Nirvana doesn't mean that they are just following the crowd

Just like me saying you like Guns just because people say they are good...

If you were able to download smells like teen spirit there's a pretty good chance you had heard of Nirivana.

And I agree Kobain is a hypocrite and I hate Nirvana.

  7. Excellent, I'll have to get that cinderlla DVD. That leaves 2 more. I'm really suprised Ratt doesn't have a disc they have quite a a few DVD's. We can also add Slaughter to the list.

Like I said, I've looked for complication discs, but here aren't many(if any) to be found.

  8. Read my first post...I said I liked Death/Black Metal. But that stuff isn't nearly as popular here as the shitty stuff, so you never get to see it. My original post was more concerning how much concerts have changed anyways.

As for Gn'R category call them w/e you want. I don't care. There not Metal and their no hair metal...there a combination of both. Good enough for u?

  9. And that leads me to todays music. What the hell is wrong with it. Seriously today's "rock" is utter trash. There is nothing to it, just a couple of douche bags that get together that can play moderatly well, and make shitty music. The whole rock industy has pretty much gone to shit.

Children Of Bodom have made the BEST FUCKING MUSIC EVER!!!!

And DragonForce are fucking great too. It's Poison who can't make music

Hey, I love COB. Dragonforce is great too. Sadly they don't tour as much as I would like.

  10. I'm just fuming that the threadstarter lumped Gn'R in with Poison.

Not really. I was talking about 80's metal in general. I know Gn'R and Poison are 2 different types of bands but they really aren't that different either.

Actually, GNR is nothing near metal. Influenced? Sure, a bit. But they don't play it. I would rather consider Poison pop.

Well it could be considered hair metal then. If you want to get into semantics then 80's Metal would be Maiden, Sabbath, Priest and such.

  11. I'm just fuming that the threadstarter lumped Gn'R in with Poison.

Not really. I was talking about 80's metal in general. I know Gn'R and Poison are 2 different types of bands but they really aren't that different either.

  12. How did that make me lose my credibility? Are you saying thats not what people consider the popular rock of today? Because if not you are not only a douchebag but you are blind also.

  13. A shit thread like this pops up every two weeks.

Have you ever thought, that maybe if you'd stop living in the 1980's and would open your mind a little bit, the music could actually be good?

It fucking pisses the shit out of me. Nowadays all you people can do is COMPLAIN. If the music fucking sucks in your opinion, why not fucking do something about it? I mean, I dont care if cant move on, but just dont tell us about how horrible your life is going to be when Bret Michaels dies or something.

I do dig the stuff thats out today. But that doesnt mean I'm not into the older stuff.

Did I say I was living in the 80's? Did I not say I'm a big Death/Black Metal fan? Or did you not read that part in your rage?

I could open my mind all I want and I'm never going to like fuckin nickleback and green day or whoever else is "popular" these days, and don't even get me started on rap. Secondly people who are into Hair Metal are not the only ones complaining about the music industry today, it's a stagnant pool of piss.

And ParadiseCityGirl...glad to see we are on the same page :D

  14. I'm not talking about the flying midgets or anything, and I don't know what you mean aobut poison...they always had normal shows. But what I mean is the enviroment the band and the music gives. If you watch the poison videos it was basically them on stage having fun and thats what the music was about. So therefor the crowd will be there to have fun. Now compare that to say a Slayer concert. They don't have fun on stage and the vibe the music gives you it about death and destruction, so people are gonna be moshing and beating the shit outta eachother.

Hope that clarifies my post a little better.
