About going out on the road of his new solo album

“As far as touring, I want to hold off before I book anything, I want to see how the album does. I want to see where people really take to it. I don’t want to just book a tour and go out – I want to have a plan, I want to see how people respond to the record and then I’ll book the right places at the right time.”

  2. http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/gene-simmons-says-guns-n-roses-appetite-for-destruction-had-an-honesty-that-rock-and-roll-had-been-missing/

KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons recently selected GUNS N' ROSES' debut album, 1987's "Appetite For Destruction", as one of his thirteen favorite LPs of all time. Speaking to The Quietus about the effort, Gene said: "The thing about that record is that it had an honesty that rock and roll had been missing. The '80s were a terrible time when guitars didn't sound like guitars and there were drum machines, but then all of a sudden here comes this group, Guns N' Roses, who plug in their guitars and just didn't mess around with any fancy stuff. And the songs were undeniable!"
He continued: " 'Welcome To The Jungle' is an undeniable song in the same way that The Rolling Stones' 'Satisfaction' has that great riff with the lyrics on top of it. Great lyrics, great imagery, and as soon as you heard that high-pitched voice that harkened back to a Robert Plant-ish approach to singing, which hadn't been heard in quite a while… Well, it still works today. That's got to be coming up to 30 years old, but you put that on today if it was a brand new band, I would say, 'Who's that?' That intro is almost symphonic, and it just defined the band. You hear that song, and then the rest of the album follows through. 'Welcome To The Jungle' is head, hands and feet above the other material."

  3. http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/steven-adler-matt-sorum-wouldnt-take-part-in-guns-n-roses-reunion-unless-i-was-involved/

During an appearance on the March 2 edition of Eddie Trunk's SiriusXM satellite radio show, "Eddie Trunk Live", original GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler was about how he would feel about a hypothetical reunion of the classic GN'R lineup which would include Matt Sorum on drums instead of him.

"Matt wouldn't do it," Adler insisted. "I see Matt practically every Monday night, and we talked about it. He wouldn't do it unless I was a part of it. And I said, 'Well, dude, I would do it without you.' And he said, 'But you're the original guy. You're the sound of GN'R. I'm not. So it's different.' And I said, 'If I did it, if Axl [Rose, vocals] wanted to play the '[use Your] Illusion' songs, I would have you right next to me. You come up and I'll either take the throne or sit where I sit.' Sort of like [the way we did it] at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame [induction in 2012]. They didn't show that part on TV, I don't think, but [Matt] played 'Brownstone', and then I came up and played 'Sweet Child' and 'Paradise City'."

Adler continued: "But, yeah, I have nothing against Matt. He didn't do nothing. I had resentments with him, but I talked with him and I worked everything out. Everything. I would love to share a tour bus with him."

Steven also spoke in more detail about his desire to see the original GUNS N' ROSES lineup reunite for a new album and tour. He said: "The whole reunion thing I would love to do just because of two decades of new fans who have never seen what the magic was. And I would love to be able to show them, but that's Axl's call."

He continued: "I just keep hearing that [Axl] has this thing with [guitarist] Slash. I hope not. 'Cause it's too old already. Time goes on. We're too old. We've gotta move on. If he has resentments I hope he doesn't. Thats all. I love him, and I love all those guys. Let's leave it at that. [Laughs]"

Asked about the fact that Slash recently tweeted a "Happy Birthday" message to Axl, Adler said: "I think that's great. 'Cause he doesn't have nothing against Axl. He loves Axl too. The four of us all love Axl. And I know that. 'Cause we had something that was so magical and so special, and nobody can ever take that away. And no matter what anybody did to anybody time's supposed to heal all wounds. Let's move on. Let's all be happy and do what we love doing. And if we have an opportunity to play for the whole world and let everybody love it 'Cause that's every musician's dream: to play music that everybody loves. And we did that. And I said, 'Let's take advantage of it and show the world' I mean, personally, myself, I wanna show everybody how appreciative I am that they love our music. 'Cause I love a wonderful life. Well, finally but a wonderful life because of them. I get to do what I like to do, and that's play music."

Adler continued: "It's been a wasted 25 years that the magic between Slash and Axl hasn't been together and making music for the world. I mean, that's like Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, Robert Plant [and] Jimmy Page, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry. And it's a shame that Axl and Slash weren't making music together, 'cause they were born to make music together. Slash is great by himself, Axl is great by himself, but together they are frickin' amazing, and nothing could stop them."

Steven also spoke about the last time he saw and spoke to Rose. He said: "It was in Las Vegas, I think, [in] 2006. [GUNS N' ROSES] was playing at the Hard Rock, and I went down. And then his partner, Del James, saw me in the audience, in the back, and said, 'You'd better leave. I don't want Axl getting pissed.' I left, I went home, I was walking in the front door and my phone's ringing. I pick it up, and it's Del. And he says, 'I'm so sorry. Axl wanted to talk with you.' So I went back. And we drank a three-thousand bottle of tequila, and we hugged, and we made our amends to each other, and it was wonderful It was just me and him sitting at the bar with a bottle of tequila, doing shots and just talking. It was really nice. So I love him."

  5. From another site:

"Ladies and Gentlemen - big update to this story. Spoke to some friends in the know and it seems the truth is Perla is just feeding TMZ a sob story. Rumour is Slash moved in with Meegan is Los Angeles and They have travelled together.

Perla fed TMZ her ultimatum story but she is deceiving the fans because this relationship has been known for many months ( by the people close to them ) and they are not hiding. They just decided It was time for the public to know so it didn't look like Slash was cheating.
He filed for divorced over 6 months ago and who knows how many months they did a trial separation. Perla is in denial and Slash fans are being used by her for sympathy.

ALSO - When Erin Everly posted a picture of her and Slash it was from when he and Meegan paid her a visit in Atlanta (seems it was in the last 6 months ). I'm told she is upfront with fans that she is fond of both Axl and Slash because She sees them as her old family."

Axl Rose and Slash can’t work together, won’t speak to each other, won’t even reunite for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame but the next Guns N Roses record could still feature a collaboration (of sorts) between the former bandmates.

That’s what current Guns guitarist Richard Fortus seemed to be suggesting, anyway, when he put in an appearance at a workshop on Nov. 20. Speaking to attendees, he weighed in on the ever-fascinating subject of if or when GNR might release another album, saying, “There’s so much stuff that’s recorded. There’s three albums worth of material, easy. Axl is very secretive — he doesn’t want stuff getting out. He wants to create stuff then release it when it’s ready. He’s also a bit of a perfectionist, as you can imagine.”

Such a perfectionist, in fact, that it might only be on the next Guns N’ Roses record that he’s finally ready to release a song that got its start way back during Slash’s tenure with the band. “Some of the stuff comes from nothing and some of the stuff were ideas that were already there,” Fortus explained. “Some of the stuff Slash did — it was the beginning of the seed of a song that’s been around for a while.”

Of course, given the amount of tinkering Rose tends to do with material, who even knows what “beginning of the seed” will mean for the final song, or if Slash will even be able to hear his own input in the end result. If nothing else, it’s yet another example of the fact that no Axl Rose track is released before its time … and only Axl knows when that time will come.

  7. Good show, happy to get DTJ (though crowd response was muted) and VERY happy to hear 30 Years to Life for the first time. Man, they really need to turn up Slash's guitar, could barely hear him first few songs.

Crowd and venue were better in Paris, while I'm happy that Slash can fill arenas now, the Brixton Academy show in 2012 had a lot more energy. My first time at Wembley Arena, what a depressing soulless venue, dampened my enthusiasm for the System of a Down show I'm seeing there in April (should have got a Zenith ticket instead :P ).

Beneath the Savage Sun is a BEAST live, that and Anastasia have become highlights of Slash shows for me.

Good to see crowd singing along to singles from more recent albums.

Hopefully he does some club shows again in the future.

They only really stood up when he played SCOM and PC! I saw a load of people around me sitting down for most of it! Not many recognized DTJ apart from this one guy a few rows back from me!

Were you standing or seated during the show? I had a look around at the seats at a couple of points, and yeah, vast majority were sat down, poor crowd :/

    Seated
