Speculating and proving a theory are two very different things. Don't confuse the two. Almost nothing in Ratbrain's thread, or most of the theories posted here, have ever been proven.

I guess I'm not following the logic here. Tommy broke a rib sometime while in Brazil. He can play two full sets with The Mats, as well as any GN'R shows (if there were any) before Duff took over, but can't play a 20 minute set at an award show?

It's a far trip for him for a small set.

I think Axl and gnr need Duff. At this point Duff is a very positive influence on everyone he is around, the pics of them doing yoga prove this. It would be good for Axl to be around a positive person he respects, not some hired/yes man. I know some of you worry about new music and all that, but for Axl personally, bringing Duff back will bring nothing but positive things. I wouldn't be suprised if Duff and Axl have been spending a pretty good amount of time together. Duff just exudes positivity, in the long term it will be the best thing that ever happened to guns n roses imo.

Missing Malaysian jet MH370 may have landed and not ended in ocean?

KUALA LUMPUR: The probe into the mysterious disappearance of the Malaysian jet is now looking at the possibility that the plane may have landed somewhere as no debris has been found so far, a media report has said.

A report in the New Strait Times quoting sources within the international team probing the

disappearance said that among the areas it was revisiting was the possibility

that the Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 had landed elsewhere, instead of ending

up in the southern Indian Ocean.

"We may have to regroup soon to look into this possibility if no positive results come back in the next few days ... but at the same time, the search

mission in the Indian Ocean must go on," the source was quoted as saying.

"The thought of it landing somewhere else is not impossible, as we have not found a single debris that could be linked to MH370. However, the possibility of

a specific country hiding the plane when more than 20 nations are searching for it, seems absurd," the sources said.

Another possibility was that the flight had crashed landed in a remote location, the source said.

Members of the International Investigation Team (IIT) who have been making efforts since day one to find the plane are now looking at the likelihood of starting from scratch, the report said.

The sources admitted to the daily that it was difficult to determine if the Boeing 777-200 had really ended in the Indian Ocean, though calculations carried

out pointed to the direction.

They pointed out that the Malaysian-led investigation team, together with experts from Inmarsat and the United Kingdom's

Air Accidents Investigation Branch, had to rely on a communications satellite, which did not provide any definite details, including the plane's direction,

altitude and speed.

"A communications satellite is meant for communication... the name is self-explanatory. The reason investigators were forced to adopt a new algorithm

to calculate the last known location of MH370 was because there was no global positioning system following the aircraft as the transponder went off 45 minutes into the flight," one of the sources was quoted as saying.

The IIT, the source said, was also looking at adding more assets to be deployed to the existing search area in the Indian Ocean, as well as widening the search area as they feared that the search team had been "looking for the plane in the wrong place".

The Beijing-bound Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 - carrying 239 people, including five Indians, an Indo-Canadian and 154 Chinese nationals - had mysteriously vanished on March 8 after taking off from Kuala Lumpur.

no matter what our opinion of Axl's methods, he's achieved more than any of us ever will.

But yeah, Axl has accomplished a lot more than most.

The way GnR went out was sorta fitting though, there are

plenty of bands that just hang around and make one mediocre

album after another. And while for fans that's good and everything,

it can sorta diminish what they did by swamping a solid discography

with garbage. Granted, you could argue that continuing to tour with

the GnR name is the same thing but eventually no one's going to

remember / care about the post-prime live stuff.

True they probably weren't ever going to be that important again. In a way, the feud and all that made CD much more interesting than what they could have done if they carried on. They could have done a Stones type mid-carrer slump before they did a reunion. what Axl has done is unprecedented and it's hard to figure out why etc., so that's interesting and frustrating, creates some tension and energy which is probably more interesting than what they would have done. Grind through tours, putting out samey albums that nobody really cares about. There's something comforting about the Stones or ACDC though, a togetherness. Axl is a very polarizing figure. I'm not sure if that is the key to his success. Or if it's just the music over the bullshit. Like you can do anything as long as the music is great.

I wouldn't call Keith and Mick brothers--they are business partners. I thought Keith's bio makes that clear.

The Young brothers are a dictatorship to the point that they almost kicked Bon Scott out before he passed.

Axl keep the door open for Slash until 2002. Slash did not like Axl's direction. He had wanted

to play small clubs and attract a different fan base? Too late, the dice were already rolled.

The essence of my post was to convey how anger, spite, egoism, hate and a lack of gratitude can destroy a meaningful life and rob one of so many opportunities, especially someone talented.

I don't think this applies to Axl. I think the media has won this one if

I'm not interested in Axl's private side, I have simply outlined the things that we have seen which are prime examples of how a person shouldn't lead a life and the consequences for doing so. We are entitled to judge something as being good or bad, and for the past 20 odd years, numerous things he's done aren't good deeds . You've totally lost the plot when you pulled out of thin air that I think I can be abusive and demand new music. I'm not being abusive nor am I creating any threads demanding anything. For sometime I have been considering the life of Axl Rose in the last 20 years. If anything, his way of living in the past 20 years is a prime example of how a human being should not behave. The very flaw of continuing to use the name Gn'R without Slash or other former members was that it had been rooted in nothing but hatred and spite, along with an irrational sense of self-entitlement. There was no message of love or forgiveness or letting go of painful memories and paving the way for a better and happier life. Hatred and spite are blind: they may only push you so far, then they will eat you up from the inside out. The opportunities had been endless for him in the past, having been availed to some truly talented musicians with a high calibre.

But with hatred as his motivator, he had forgotten to show gratitude for what he still had and to value and treasure it. For this didn't happen, he had forced one great musician after another to walk out the door. Music is made with love and compassion towards band mates, it is created on a mutual agreement rooted in honesty and sincerity. It is not created by using musicians as an instrument for the channeling of hatred, nor is it created in bad energy. Referring to Axl's relationships, I sincerely believe that he was not the sole abuser but in reference to my aforementioned sentence, good relationships are also not created by bad energy. It was this same bad energy and hatred instead of love and forgiveness in relation to his past that had lured him into such volatile relationships which had all ended catastrophically.

The man feels psychologically unrealised and defeated: the notion of family and children never took place, nor did the realisation of his music, neither of which any amount of money in the world could ever make up for. Now we as fans are on the receiving end of his hatred. For we have for the most part not accepted his band to be Guns N' Roses, we are not deemed worthy of new music. We are to listen to the endless touring of the same music and only when his own band is renowned widely as Guns N' Roses may we hope for anything new. Realistically, that is never going to happen. So I leave an open question to all board members: what valuable lessons can we take from Axl Rose? I will offer my lessons taken.

Don't hate or be spiteful: the foundation of any creation must be love, respect and an unsullied desire for expression. Don't develop anything amidst bad energy for it is not a secure foundation and will not last. Always make decisions in a clear and conscious state of mind, don't allow blind hatred to make them for you. Have gratitude and know how to recognise and value the goodness availed to you when it is there. And lastly, learn to forgive and let go of past moments, don't allow them to consume you and cloud your vision. They are not in the present or future unless you willfully choose to hold onto them and carry them with you.
