You can really tell Axl was in peak vocal conditioning for AC DC and once Brian rejoined he really let his vocal shape go the difference from 2016 to 2018 is very obvious

That Coma was awesome for current Axl not gonna lie. I wish they fucking mixed it better tho. Shit Mix.

Thats true indeed. Fun fact, the costs for CD are still rising, since they are still working on that stuff (like Hardschool). CD was and still is the most expensive album ever made.
I wonder if we will ever get a Slash / Duff version of CD. It would be cool if Izzy came back to write even if he didn't tour. This should be the time with COVID for them to be in the studio.

A lot of your info is about 50% correct but that’s whatever.
Smile was recorded in under a year unlike Axl who took fucking forever. Brian wasn’t on crazy drugs, he smoked some hash and did acid like once. He developed his mental health issues years after. Technology of the time was a big reason why Smile wasn’t finished, editing all those little pieces together was not an easy task.
As for the music they aren’t even comparable, what Brian was doing was ground breaking. CD is interesting but there is nothing on there that hasn’t been heard before. The Downward Spiral is far beyond and that came out in 1994.I re read that sentence with crazy and drugs. . What I should have said was Brians mental health was declining and his use of drugs was increasing. Hey I'm pretty new to the world of Brian Wilson so I'm sorry If I'm off... I think there are some parallels though.

So I've always been into Guns but until Recently I haven't much gotten into the Beach Boys beyond the hits. Their first few hits the Beach Boys took Chuck Berry riffs and layered Freshman style vocal harmonies over them for some quick straight forward rock and roll. But soon Brian Wilson... the main song writer quit touring so he could work with session musicians to expand their sound. He hired the best session musicians and spent all day in the studio recording and re recording what would become Pet Sounds. When the band came back from tour they, mainly Mike Love, told Brian that it wasn't really the Beach Boys it was Brian Wilson with the Beach Boys doing vocals. However when Pet Sounds was released some critics really liked the growth of the music and it had on it some great tracks such as Wouldn't it be Nice and God only Knows which Paul McCartney called the greatest track ever written.
Before Pet Sounds the Beatles had released Rubber Soul and Brian wanted to top it. After Pet sounds was released Brian spent 8 Months recording Good Vibrations the single for their next Album he was making titled Smile. This album was to compete with the Beatles Sergent Peppers. The Beach Boys re-recorded the vocals for Good Vibrations 50 Times.
By this time Brian was getting crazy with Drugs and was recording all sorts of things including instruments from all over the world, talk back during tracks, dogs and horses among other things. He had a huge sandbox in his living room he put a piano in which reminds me of Bucketheads Chicken Coop. Between the dogs and the Chickens I suspect they were both filled with poop. Remember Axl got Pissed when he saw Bucket was watching hardcore porn and was furious it could be bringing a bad energy to the recording? That is such a Brian Wilson thing.
Brian Struggled to complete smile and by this time was cancelling sessions when the energy in the room wasn't right. From what he was able to deliver to the band and the record company neither of them liked it. Mike Love told Brian... This is too out there, we're a simple rock band, don't fuck with the formula. The Beach Boys took what they could from Brians tapes, stripped it down and released a stripped down version of the sessions called Smiley Smile. To me this is like the version of Chinese Democracy we got.
When this happened Brian spent the next three years in bed. Not writing or recording much, not touring.
To me the parallels between Brian and Axl are plentiful. They both had an artistic vision and worked with a plethora of musicians to try and achieve it. The results could at times be out there and weird. Some of it I find brilliant such as Twat, This I love, Catcher Brian may, even Madagascar. Piano Driven Ballads are Axls bread and butter. Some of it I find Weird such as Scraped, If the World. It's a new sound but it had a filler vibe. And some of it I find weirdly experimental such as Prostitute, and Shacklers. There are very few elements of what I expected such as Decent almost there Rockers like CD Better and IRS. Just Like Good Vibrations was Smile's only song to remind me of their past sound.
To Me Paul McCartney and the Beatles was what Reznor and NIN was to Axl.
If Axl is Brian Wilson Slash is Mike Love: Don't Fuck with the Formula.
Just for Fun Adler is Dennis Wilson, Duff is Al Jardeen, Izzy is Carl Wilson and Dizzy is Bruce Johnston.
So to me Chinese Democracy may be our generations Smile and Axl Rose is our Brian Wilson. We hope that he will write and record music but has a recluse personality and Mental Illness that can get in the way. Both have been touring, but Brian has still been writing and recording.
Brian finally went back into the studio to complete Smile in 2004. I wonder if Axl will ever go into the studio to finish his original vision for the CD Trilogy.

I'd rather hear nothing from Axl than to have him make some cringeworthy video like madonna did.

Is this worth it? I'd be interested on the guitar renditions. they do of chinese democracy.

Yeah man, I am still waiting with baited breath for Oh My God (with Silkworms snare sample +3db) to show up
I'm good with alternate leaks plus or minus a couple dbs. LOL.
I could imagine a phone call asking Axl to go to the studio so they could mix and him saying, nah, could you just bring me versions of a million different mixes so I can listen to them at home?
But there are still some unreleased tracks with vox out there.

Man this would be a great time for new leaks

No, just that one-minute, potato-quality cellphone recording that Evader used as the template for his artificial version.
who needs the real Axl, when we can just use Artificial Axl!
STILL better than Myles Kennedy Or Bridgeschool Axl
Do you have a link to what Evader did on youtube for the general?

I recently revisited the CD leaks and I thought some of them were pretty good. If you guys are interested, I made an album tracklist below that flow cohesively.
It's a very rocking album with fast paced rhythms, great guitars and no ballads. It begins quite organically and then it slowly turns into a weird futurist hellscape. I like it better than CD actually.

Izzy's Writing and Rhythm, Slash's Lead, Adler's unique Drumming, Duff's Bassline's, Axl's Voice and being so Hungry they had no choice but to put their all into making the best fucking music they could. The way Izzy and Slash complemented Each other on Rhythm was also very special. The best Track on UYI is the one Adler played on... Civil War.
Once they got money it alll started to fall apart slowly. The music they wrote for UYI while writing for Appetite was the best. They lost the pieces one by one. When Izzy was no longer there to write, there was nowhere to go, except the Chinese Democracy Route. The fact that Axl had the new band re-record Appetite shows you how important that formula is to GNR. Hell, even the best VR stuff was the stuff that Izzy contributed.
We Need Down By The Ocean Axl... Make it Happen!

WTTJ. I was about 6 years old and was watching that movie where Morgan Freeman was a principal that came out in 1989. Lean on Me. It was where they showed how run down the ghetto high school was. I couldn't believe the sounds my ears were hearing and thought, oh my god this is so bad ass! It was orgasmic. I was really into Elvis, the Righteous Brothers and Jerry Lee Lewis before that, as well as the Grease Soundtrack. I watched the credits to see who the band was which sang about a jungle... and sure enough it was Guns N' Roses! The next day I begged my dad to take me to the mall which had a record store, remember those?, and bought the tape Appetite for Destruction. Been a fan ever since. After that my cousins introduced me to Metallica, and AC DC Couple years after that... Alice in Chains and Nirvana. I had some pretty cool albums for a kid in elementary school and then middle school. MTV also helped after that. My cousin Chris had bought UYI 1 and 2 but didn't like them much so I got those CDs for free. I also remember buying GNR Lies. I got 'The Spaghetti Incident!?' as an Easter Gift. I remember being in High School when the Trailer for End of Days hit on 9/9/99. I taped the commercial and put it on the computer and ripped a CD. Bought the Soundtrack the day it came out.
Here is the scene. Overdubbed in Spanish but you get the point.

I'm glad this isn't actually the Halftime Show. The only way I'd like to hear them do the halftime show would be if Axl rehearsed his voice, which he doesn't really do anymore...

Axl sounded real good till he started running out of breath. Good song for his voice these days. It's a hard song to sing tho.

Is this as good as it seems?

Cant believe Axl was in the studio for a decade deciding either if he liked the drums 1.5 db up or 1.5 down.
We've only heard a few variations. Imagine the hundreds of different versions out there lol.

I started to see a link to something and got way too exited lol.

The only new thing I can find is an old thing... The anti quiet leaks. Is this different than that collection? I can't tell because I have that collection but not this collection. Are they different or the same?

I like the versions of The Blues and Rhiad with Brain on drums. The drums on both versions of Rhiad are awesome but Brain's are better, IMO.
But if you don't care about the drums this disc probably won't interest you too much.
Does brain do that little fill they do live now on the blues? Is bucket on Rhiad?

Does this live up to the hype? How are the guitars in it??

I don't like the drumming much
Would you take a NITL 'selects' Live Album with the tracks that have been released so far?
