That's a quote that we've literally read about Axl a thousand times. So despite some "educated" posters around here who have a problem with what they call "Axlites" or anybody who's pro Axl rose, GOD FORBID, hey it's another example showing that gnr breaking up was never axls fault alone. And it's clearly not his fault alone that Izzy isn't involved.
Hope this isn't directed at me. I fucking love Axl.

Thanks again to all of you guys. I truly feel @ArtTavana is the best guest we've had on thus far. Although who we have planned for next show is pretty mind blowing I'd say. Once again, please leave us a review on iTunes. Brando and I are trying to get this thing big, and there are so many big guests we hope to get on if we can keep the momentum going.
OMG who is the next guest? I'm excited to listen. I have to say I've been a lot of radio shows (local L.A. and BBC) and you guys were by far the coolest. When it comes to GNR, you guys provide a cool and fair platform for the various characters in their universe to voice their opinions. So thank you. Cheers.

Loved the podcast, thanks @Elevation516 I always feel a little saner when I hear other people enthusing over GnR.
. @ArtTavana great interview, Interesting that you mention you managed to track down Juju Hound members and talk to them, do you know if there's any truth in these guys working on something in 2017? I heard rumours of a box set, marking 25 years, seems unlikely but I have my fingers crossed.
An Izzy interview is really great news, I think? Hopefully it concentrates on his current solo work.
The Ju Ju Hounds original lineup of Ashhurst, Stradlin, Quintana, and Richards...is not going to happen again. At least not any time soon, and sadly, probably not in this lifetime. That being said: I look forward to one day, when I have time, spending my days writing their history...

Wasn't the guitar solo in the desert scene shot in Arizona or New Mexico? (aka not in LA)
Yes. New Mexico (where the helicopter hovers over Slash soloing outside the tiny church), but most of the iconic scenes were shot in Los Angeles. For example, the interior shot of the church was a Catholic church in Los Angeles, etc.

No worries, I wasn't trying to jump on you or anything. When I listened to the interview I thought you went on the property or something and didn't want other fans to think that was ok to do, know what I mean? I'm looking forward to your article and I hope that you'll post it here when it's published.
I totally get it. I will definitely share it here when it runs

If he did as much research on Izzy as he says he did then he should know how private he is and how much something like that would creep Izzy out. I'm pretty sure that's even why Izzy stopped interacting on the Beenafix forum years ago was because of somebody showing up at his house. I'd love for Izzy to give an interview as much as the next person but we should still be respectful of his privacy and personal space. Just because it's easy to find his address doesn't give us a free pass to go visit like it's Disneyland.

i mean, he probably doesnt like it, but he is probably somewhat used to that?
I left him a note. Once you read the story, which I hope you all do, you will see that I had no intention of invading his privacy beyond leaving a sealed envelope in his postbox (which is located in front of a tall gate). I couldn't even see into his property, nor did I care too.
His address, while publicly available, is something I will not reveal. In the piece, I give no indication of exactly where he lives, or where he dines or does other things (even though his friends and other locals did give me a lot of this stuff). I did my best to protect his privacy while creating what I believe is a profile on a rock and roll icon who is a mystery to us all. I hope i have not offended him or his fans.
I look forward to being back on AFD for a sequel!
Cheers,

Nice photos mate you should upload more!
I've always liked the original AFD cover. To me it's not sexist it's simply a stylized image of "there's always a bigger fish". I had a look at the artist's other work though and yeah, he's probably a juvenile dickhead lol.Provocative work is often misinterpreted or used by others to shame the creator. The "robot rape" art was beautiful and it made a statement about humanity. The "sexism" is nothing more than a misguided criticism by people who wanna take GN'R or Axl Rose down. To be fair: Axl Rose has often forced people into criticizing him. He's a rebel. The original AFD artwork was really cool. Glad I have the OG vinyl.

Nope. But at least GnR is back big enough to warrant a RS special edition. People still want it.
True. I am looking forward to a magazine doing a full issue on the reunion.

It's cool. Sort of. Just a bunch of rolling stone articles on GNR from the past; some of which can't be found easily online. But nothing really "new." Most fans will read it once and enjoy the photos but it's a way to sell mags. That's all. Biz. Nothing thought provocking or fresh.

Art, I'll try to be vague here, but methinks you might know something about his next interview? Yes? No? If you're who I think, I'm the person who knows Izzy's mom. If this makes no sense, please ignore. Ha.
I'm just checking

"I expressed my feeling to Axl," he continues, "and the very next night on MTV I saw that I was going to be replaced by the guy in Jane's Addiction. So I took that as an indication that I'd really pissed him off."
Does anyone here know what Izzy's last interview was?

Yeah, I've spoken to people who had copies, and eventually threw them away. It was a scam? Holy shit...

Anyone have an act they'd want to see open for GN'R at this historic gig? It's their first time at Dodger, so I'm imagining there will be some surprises
If you're in L.A and going on Aug 18/19, reply to this thread and let me know how you feel about it! I'm guessing there's gonna be a gang of people at the Short Stop to pre-game...

Oh, that's so cool. Thank you. Yes, Pitchfork was kind enough to let me geek out on that one
There is always stuff that has to be left off. Nothing major or worth mentioning, just small details that I may save for a follow-up one day...
