Speaking of a reunion show, YouTube has a 2017 show they did in Slane where the crowd was DEAD. 😬🥴😵💫 The Crowd politely clapped like it was a fucking high school Talent Show you REALLY didn't want to go to, but your 16 year old niece is one of the Talents and you did it out of Family Obligations. 😬🥴
Slash was fucking FROWNING, which I don't blame him. If I were straight shredding on the guitar and got polite claps, I'd be frowning too! 😬🥴
I was at Slane and you're talking absolute shite.

Common sense. The history of how much just gets swiped. (Olly Moss/Gearbox etc)
Common sense would be assuming that its produced under copyright license especially with Slash's dealings with Universal and their horror stuff. A lot gets 'swiped' as you keep putting it but a band as huge as GN'R aren't going to get away with that, your local band for a Halloween show, sure.

You don't open with a new song unless it was recently released and the crowd would recognize it. But this is GNR so everything is out the window lol
They opened Rock In Rio 2 with Pretty Tied Up, months before anyone had heard.

Interesting, gonna take a listen.
I remember Mark and Izzy were working on something together prior to JuJu Hounds? Or am I wrong?Marc appears uncredited on Ju Ju Hounds.

I asked Steve Gorman about this on the AFD podcast and he said himself it was bullshit and Izzy was never considered.

I haven't heard it yet, but what's the Aerosmith Pump thing?
cheers

Sadly yes. Duff has went way down in my estimation too. The way Axl is performing, Slash too, it's just dead, no Izzy etc. It all just proves it was too little, too late for me. Sad.

The Big Three refers to Axl, Slash and Izzy Stradlin NOT Axl, Slash and Duff McKagan
Gilby Clarke suits GN'R much better than Richard Fortus, who I love, but no.
Frank Ferrer ruins November Rain live.
Rhiad was good.
Street of Dreams is painful.
Prostitute is genius.
Izzy's Ju Ju Hounds, 117 Degrees and Like a Dog are better than any other solo album from Guns members.
Ain't Life Grand is Slash's best post Guns work
Listening to Duff's Tenderness is akin to fucking a Coke can

Slash had to double up rhythms on Civil War and Locomotive and Axl played rhythm guitar on Shotgun Blues and West Arkeen on The Garden. 3 of those are great songs without any Izzy contributions. So theres that I guess.
Izzy always plays amazing on their songs though and they always ride so much higher on Izzy's. It really is such a fucking shame that things couldn't be worked out with Izzy, Steve and Matt. I know the average Joe and a lot of hardcore fans are happy as fuck with the "reunion" but I'm gutted.
It's STILL not Guns N' Roses for me. Those 7 guys inducted in 2012. That's Guns N' Roses.

Why do you always censor the word „fucking“?

Thought it was interesting that Ron's new band Sons Of Apollo will be playing that same festival as GN'R.
Reminded me of Download 2010, we were backstage and Slash and STP were playing a few slots apart, we watched both from the side of the stage and Slash (who had bad blood with Scott at the time) blew us away by coming up to watch STP with us.
I have a lot of cool stories about that day. Was amazing.

Is Man U not cool? I always thought they were? There you go, I learned something today. Wasn't David Beckham considered cool?
He's considered a thick twat mostly in the UK. Especially by those not English.
Cool clubs: it would seem my own team Celtic strikes a chord with the rich and famous mostly due to its representation of Irish immigrants and heavy left leaning fan base. Robert Downey Jr, Keifer Sutherland, Snoop Dogg, Lana Del Rey, Coolio, Jay Z have all been seen wearing Celtic shirts and attending games and inside the UK have attending fans like James McAvoy, Billy Connolly, Rod Stewart, Paulo Nutini, Gerard Butler.... The list goes on.
Our sister club in Germany St Pauli are considered pretty cool too cos they share our left leaning politics and have that whole Skull & Crossbone merch and a huge punk following.
Some people follow a band like a football team or any other sport esoecially to the 'extremes' of seeing it as a represantaion of themselves which is what teams in the UK are like.
I don't. I see music like food, its a matter of taste, not necessarily support. I wouldnt berate someone for not liking bacon or spicy food so I'm not going to charge through and go nuts on someone if they dont follow or rate my favourite band/guitarist/sing etc. Its daft.
As someone mentioned though, ones cool is anothers hate.
Just my 2 cents.

My point is they were going for global domination from day one. Well at least 3 of them. Arlette's book can be in her language because it would sell there and is about HER. Its a WORLDWIDE brand, this is the WORLDWIDE web and not everything has to be in English.

I think in this interview she said that no one knew GN'R when they first arrived to the UK
Yeah she did but they established a following there before any outside LA which was the WHOLE IDEA.

I dont know what the book is about, to be honest, but I assumed it would be about her life as a publicist for big bands and artists of Hollywood...
So I assumed her target audience would be in America rather than Belgium or dutch speaking countries... wouldnt ya think?
That's odd.
Not really. The band are HUGE worldwide, and its about HER success, not theirs.

Izzy is uncredited on Civil War but he plays on it, if you listen carefully to the left channel you can hear Izzy's guitar, it has his tone and style of playing, totally different from Slash's style, but Slash do some overdubs on clean guitar. Coma is the opposite, Izzy is credited but Slash do all the guitar parts.
I respectfully disagree. Izzy was in Europe getting sober at the time of the recording of Civil War. Slash recorded his parts as it was released for Nobodys Child a year and a half before UYI.
On Coma its clearly Izzy, especially the chops at the start of the solo (which Richard never does annoyingly). Izzy has spoken about Coma many times albeit mostly to do with performing it live.
Izzy has aslo stated he is credited for everything he did. If anyone can help out with a link to that thatd be awesome.

Well, I'm old school. Mobile phones do my head in. I keep mine usually switched off in my pocket.
I use mine for work, news, internet, camera.
Are they really still called MOBILE phones too? I mean who in this day and age still has one hardwired to the wall? To me its just phone.

There's no substitute for reading a newspaper or magazine. The amount and quality of information in them is so much superior to that found online....not to mention the reliability and accountability aspects formed by ISPO and suchlike.
Also (and this may just be a personal thing) you consume and retain things you read in them so much more. No distractions maybe? You scroll through stuff online- reading a paper or magazine makes you ACTUALLY read them. They also ensure you aren't only reading the news stories and articles you want and choose to (i.e. the echo chamber) and are instead being subjected to ideas and thoughts that may challenge you or stop you forming a shielded world view where the only thoughts and opinions you hear are those identical to your own.
Thats absurd. I have The Guardian, New York Post, New Yrok Times, Sky News and BBC news all as apps on my phone. Constantly updated, with videos and most of all free and a shit tone more content than in a paper.

Really? I buy a newspaper when I'm travelling and buy two magazines per month.

anybody else pissed off by Izzy?

Have you even heard an Izzy Stradlin album, his 1st the Ju Ju Hounds has Nicky Hopkins on piano, Ian McLagan on keyboards on every album until his death and he had the Waters Sisters from the Illusion II KOHD sing gospel shit on Come On Now Inside. If anyone loves piano and backing singers it's Izzy, lol
