I'm not a fan of their music either, although I like some of the 90s stuff when they turned more to rock n roll and rhythm and blues, but that's beside the point. As a band I have a lot more respect for what they have achieved in the last 4 decades than what GnR has done, which is very little.

I simply do not want to see Guns N' Roses collaborate with Bon Jovi in any way shape or form. Would be like mixing my favourite drink with bleach.

Coldplay, Brittany Spears, Boyzone, all did more than Guns N' Roses. I'm a huge fan of the band who did the least and loathe those acts along with Bon Jovi.

What are the chances of members from Guns or those bands be a special guest on eachother's concerts? Especially with Aerosmith/Bon Jovi/GN'R all play within a day from eachother on the same venue(both in Rio and Sao Paulo).

Aerosmith/Bon Jovi/Guns basically rose to the top on the same decade(given Aero was a decade earlier, but they still rocked on the 80s/90s).

    Slash joining Aerosmith on stage?

Steven and Joe playing with Guns again?

Axl singing "Bed of Guns N' Roses" with Jon?

    Alice singing Coma with Guns?

If GN'R ever do anything with Bon Jovi I am officially done with Guns.

  3. Hey, whats the count on covers now from GN'R? The 2 on Live Like a Suicide, The 2 on UYI, The Spaghetti Incident (Buick Makane/BDS counting as 2), not forgetting Look At Your Game so thats 14, Sympathy For the Devil, Whole Lotta Rosie, Mother, Only Women Bleed, Always On the Run, The Seeker, Another Brick In the Wall pt 2, Baba O'Reilly, Imagine, Wild Horses, Dead Flowers, Heartbreak Hotel, Jumpin Jack Flash, I Feel Good, Black Hole Sun, the other new one, Beautiful mixed with X Japan song Richard and Robin jammed.....

Thats 36 and I know I'm missing loads. Half the GH album was covers.

I would  rather hear covers they recorded than all these new ones appearing (although I like BHS). I think I Feel Good is pish when Black Leather could be blasted.

Still no Don't Damn Me, ever. Unreal.

    Whats your thoughts?

Not in any order but this should get you started:

Like A Dog: Bomb, Chop Away, Rollin On, Hell Song, and Just Don't Know

On Down the Road: Sweet Caress

Ride On: Needles and Trance Mission (instrumental)

117 Degrees: Memphis, Grunt (instrumental), Good Enough, Up Jumped the Devil (instrumental), Methanol, & Surf Roach (instrumental)

2016 Singles: To Being Alive, Walk'n Song & Call Me the Breeze

Ju Ju Hounds: Somebody Knockin', Shuffle it All, How will it Go, Time Gone By, & Train Tracks

Up Jumped the Devil is not an instrumental. Its a cover with great lyrics.

  5. Glad someone posted the Robert John doc. Have always taken anything Slash said with a pinch (bucket) of salt after he said he couldn't get Izzy to rehearse those 93 dates when clearly, broadcast on the BBC, I watched him rehearse in Tel Aviv with them.

Also the 'Izzy doesnt like touring' thing is getting tiresome. The man constantly travels the world. He just doesnt play guitar at the end of each day. He loves travelling. He has said so in the Tunecore interview and other times.

What Izzy doesn't like is what Guns N' Roses are/have become. If it was Appetite all over again, 5 original guys playing rock n roll he'd be there. It's  not though, it's a bloated version with keyboardists, songs he prob doesn't care for and basically that version he left only this time with MORE managers, contracts, rules and bullshit.

There will be 3 more Izzy albums before there is a GN'R one, at the very least. And I am ok with that.

Long story short, even Daryl Jones isn't a Rolling Stone. And he's been with them since 1993. So there won't be anybody replacing anybody anymore. I can't imagine the Stones still going on after one of them dies. And honestly, that's how it should be. Keith and Ronnie's weaving is irreplaceable. So are Mick's voice and stage presence and Charlie's drumming.

I didn't mean being a member. Just doing some shows. And again HYPOTHETICAL 🙂

  7. With the awful news of Ronnie Wood's cancer scare it got me thinking: Along the lines of Axl/DC I'd bet Izzy would be a front runner to replace a Stones guitarist if needs be (although Stones minus Keef would not be right ever).

I'd prob rather see this than him back in GN'R tbh. I remember he was supposed to join New York Dolls and I was gutted when (typically) he pulled out but I'd bet Lazy Stradlin would jump at the chance to be a Stone for a tour quicker than he would be a Gun again.

Again just a hypotheses but fun to think about none the less.

I disagree, I just took issue with how Melissa was referenced in this thread, perhaps I shouldn't have said anything, I do not believe I am speaking down to others whatsoever, not unless they speak down to me, like the brownstone guy. All is cool as far as I'm concerned though.

Have to agree that you are being a dick and very condescending. How is calling someone Blue Bird being disresectful to women? If Richard had blue hair I'd call him a blue haired twat. Does that mean I hate men? Have your opinion but don't be a cunt.

I don't disagree with you, but Rosie doesn't make any sense. Besides, I'm not sure Angus would allow Guns doing one of his songs. Unless he gets to be apart of it. Having said that, Slash plays it better than Angus does (Apollo soundboard), so I'm not sure I would want Angus even on it, even though I love him.

Besides, Rosie is NOT a staple, The Seeker is. Its in the cards I bet, whether us die hard like it or not. I personally don't mind, I like the song and they play the shit out of it. Better than The Who imo.

As someone pointed out Guns put out a live cover in the 80's on the Live From The Jungle EP and the same recording was a b-side on the Sweet Child O' Mine single re-release. It was from the Marquee show in London, Guns have been playing Rosie since the club days.

The only change on the set list right now that would make me go to see another show would be "14 years" or "Dust and bones", if you know what I mean. I'm not interested in more of the same.

Sadly they could still do Dust N' Bones as Duff sang it once after Izzy left in GN'R and he has played it many times with Loaded over the years.

  11. GN'R must be (I haven't researched this at all btw) one of the only GIANT bands since the 50's and 60's to have sooooo many covers on theit greatest hits record. Even now there are new covers like Layla, Wish You Were Here, Riff Raff Black Hole Sun, The Seeker etc etc.

We all want them to play more GN'R songs, no question. But are there any previous covers they haven't played in decades tou would RATHER hear? Pick 3!

I vote Black Leather, Heartbreak Hotel and Wild Horses.
