The crowd doesn't surprise me. Hell, I watched videos of the crowd in Vegas and didn't realize how much that crowd actually sucked too.
A fraction of the Mexico crowds put all of these shows crowds to shame.
It was the same thing last week at Coachella. It's the end of a long day and unless you're doing something like EDM where there is a repetitive constant beat people are jumping to, they're just going to listen and that's pretty much it. Plus, half of them are wondering what those guys are doing manipulating those funny looking things with strings on them and not just pressing buttons on a laptop to drop the beat.

totally spoiled by the periscopes. this is the only show besides the Troubadour that wasn't entirely streamed from inside.

Why are they bringing it back? For hip-hop and pop unplugged? MTV hasn't had a thing to do with rock in 15 years.

Outstanding to get both Don't Cry and Yesterdays

Well ,since the first vegas soundcheck was streamed on periscope, then yeah
Before Troubadour we haven't heard anything
Well, shit, I missed that streamed soundcheck then.

Well, they rehearsed both songs before the first vegas gigs, so....
But yeah, he may now knows what are the good songs people want to hear for so long
Well, they have to rehearse anything they play, since it has been so long for many of these songs, but was that common knowledge before the shows that they were rehearsing those songs in particular?

They must read the boards as people were begging for Coma before the Vegas shows and it has been played, and TWAT has been requested in here heavily the last couple shows and now it has been done live.
Need to get Locomotive in there now.

Michael Scott ftw!!!
The stage really is small, btw. That's not necessarily a complain, just an observation. But I guess there's no need for a big stage with Axl in his throne. I'm pretty sure the stadium stage will be a lot more impressive, though.

I know it's not good to focus on the small handful of negative reviews, but good god they are totally whiny and nitpicky as hell, as if they made up their mind before seeing the show, and in some cases, you wonder if they even saw the show. They all seem to have some cheesy fucking line(s) in them to start or finish or also as the title. That is some of why people always say journalism is dead. Click-bait, trying to create controversy, or just full of shit. Complaining about Axl looking like a man in need of a toilet while singing on the chair? oh he he ha ha so funny, toilet humor, brilliant. The fireworks were 'rather unimpressive'? Really? The Guardian clown didn't even mention Angus Young guesting, what a thorough review. And then he lauds boring shit like Run the Jewels, probably because Bernie Sanders introduced them.
It's simply amazing how you have a few reviews talking about how awful it was and 'some things should remain broken', yet most of the reviews talked about how they rocked the hell out of the show and brought back sorely missing balls and intensity to RnR.
The bottom line is that for some, GnR couldn't win in any way, shape, or form no matter what they did. In addition to revisionist history over the years trying to diminish the band's impact (Grunge killed em!, They were a vehicle for corporate rock!, They were a hair band!, etc. and all the other bs), everyone is convinced this is all about a cash grab and wants this to fail. They complain about how the band isn't dangerous, that they're sober, professional, and that they showed up on time (which is a common joke hurr hurr, because Axl has a history of showing up late, get it? lolz). Yet, had they showed up an hour late, they would have blasted them for that. Had they all been strung out on drugs and 'dangerous', whatever that means for 50 year olds, they would have called them sad losers that never grew up. It all has a reeking of agism as well. The lambasting of Axl for breaking his foot and using a chair is completely insane. And how dare he compliment the crowd....jfc how far does your head have to be up your ass before you start pulling that level of inanity out?
How about Get in the Ring on the setlist next weekend?

Remember too that this is an outdoor concert, in terms of vocal quality, and these streams and clips are from fairly far away.

why is every standing like Zombies LOL
been that way for pretty much every act I've seen on the streams. Just standing and watching. Occasionally someone on stage says "COACHELLA" and the crowd goes mild for 2 secs.
