It's awesome to see Izzy making regular posts. Who would have thunk it?

I obviously hope his non-inclusion changes before Vegas. But another thing is I really hope it was more than just a money issue keeping him out.

If there's anyone you would think Axl shouldn't stab in the back its his childhood friend from Indy who he hitch hiked to LA to meet up with. The 1 guy who through all these years has maintained a friendly relationship with him.

I just hope it was about more than money.

Friendly...except those times he was calling Izzy a double talkin' jive motherfucker

  2. Andy Greene finally did write his article: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/izzy-stradlin-no-involvement-in-guns-n-roses-reunion-20160301

From the piece: "At this point in time, I will not be playing at any of the April 2016 GNR shows," the guitarist said in an e-mail to Rolling Stone. "I've also not been in the studio recording or writing with any of the others recently. There is so much speculation, but so very little info, [that] I thought I should reach out."

Doesn't surprise me but couldn't people ask Twitter to be like "hey, this guy is saying he's the real deal. Can you get in touch with him, as he might not know how to get in touch with you, and see what the real story is?" Again, I don't know how Twitter works, but just saying for those that still don't believe it seems like they should be doing everything they can to get some proof. Forcing Twitter's hand or at least bringing it to their attention would be a nice start.

This is what Twitter says about it: https://support.twitter.com/articles/119135#

I don't know how Twitter verification works. I'm shocked though that people HERE haven't gotten in contact to investigate this Twitter's validity. Like, I just feel some people are so interested in finding out whether its real, can't you lead Twitter to the source and have them get to the bottom of it? I doubt they'd be on the look out for verifying an Izzy Stradlin Twitter without a little nudge. Just to speed this process along, for those of you that don't believe it.

I believe the person has to contact Twitter, who will then see if they fit the criteria for verification.

  5. I really enjoyed Slash and Duff's autobiographies, agreeing with the general consensus that Duff's come off as a more personal tale. Slash gives good info on the band as a whole, Duff is more about how he fit into the band. Haven't read Steven's.

A few things I've read since question some of Slash's recollections - for example when in the book he says he quit and gave no indication of returning, but others didn't see it like that (can't remember exact phrasing, it has been a while). There are interviews from 1997 and 1999 where he contradicts that, saying something to the effect of 'it's like a long break, if we can work it out I'll be back'.

Watch You Bleed has its flaws. There are factual errors. But it's an engrossing read. I'll randomly pick out a few paragraphs from it and then see myself going on for pages. Maybe because of the story he's telling - it was a whirlwind decade, after all.
