YEAH i dont like that tour very much because i cant stand GNR without izzy

but that was certainly a major improvement in every sense over the 1992 circus-tracy-roberta-zig-zag era

is here any pro shot video from that tour except argentina 1993?

i have nice audio recordings of hartford 1993, argentina 1993, and of course all the izzy 1993 shows

any others skin and bones shows that are worth listening?

I would kill for a pro-shot video of any of those Izzy's shows in 93.

the AFD period ended in 1990

    your argument is invalid

Nostalgic? Do you realise that the UYI's turned 25 years now, right?

If he just played AFD and Lies songs only, then you would have a point. (I mean Slash and Duff plays CD songs too....) It's obviously not the case so...

Your theory or wish makes zero sense, imho

yiiiiiiiiiisus... ok, my argument is invalid. It does make zero sense.

Why would he kick her out after the AC/DC shows?

Do you realise that this is two separate bands, right?

Your theory would makes absolutely no sense, because GNR performs several songs with keyboards on it plus he need some backing vocals

That's why i wrote that if he doesn't want her in the band, she wouldn't be there in the first place

My point was that the AFD line up was a raw band, no keybords or synths needed, just loud guitars as ACDC. And maybe Axl, having fun with ACDC, becomes nostalgic of that sound and wants to comeback to those days, clear now? Obviously is just a theory... or a wish.

Don't you think that GNR music is more complex than AC/DC? I mean for 40 years AC/DC did not changed shit and GNR have alot songs that have keyboards and synths and that is because Axl wanted it.

I definitely think GNR songs are more complex than ACDC songs. But I was comparing the raw sound that GNR had during the 80's. Not the piano/synths shit.

How is this even a topic?

If Axl doesn't want her in the band, she wouldn't be there in the first 7 shows in the first place....

I think you need to read the topic again.

I am a barça fan too and i strongly disagree on Ramos. He's a hell of a player, he does the dirty work. Too bad he's playing in RM.

I'm not saying he's a bad player, but he is a dirty player. He's been playing for RM for 10 years and he's the most sent off player and its history...

He's Sergio Ramos, I think they would let him in for free lol. I saw his Spanish team mate Cesc Fabregas at the Manchester show in 2012 :)

Judging his face Axl must be a Barça fan.

As a barça fan I fn' hate that picture with all my heart. The woman is a tv presenter known because she suins every show she hosts. The guy on the right is one of the most dirty player in the whole soccer universe and he plays for Madrid AND HE HAS NO CLUE ABOUT ROCK BECAUSE HE IS A FLAMENCO LOVER!

Today I remembered these two interviews made while Matt and Gilby, separately, were in Brazil years ago.  Amongst many subjects, I point two:

    1) Both are very nice guys, especially Gilby.

    2) When Gilby pointed that the band evolved when he became a member, I thought about Fortus and Slash. They make such a talented duo, increasing the possibilites for the band. Izzy is a fabulous and unique composer, a master, and should be involved with the reunion tour. But, musically, the Slash/Gilby and Slash/Fortus duos are better for GNR.

    Gilby

    Matt

    Part I:

    Part II:

I don't see any evolution in the Slash-Gilby duo. I can barely listen Gilby's parts during the UYI tour.

WHAT? Did I ever say Axl is a dictator for chosing Ferrer over Steven? I never did that and never would. I love Axl and, as I said like a hundred times, I think the band have the right to chose who they want to be their drummer. It'd be a shame to me if they decided to keep Steven 100% out without giving him the chance to play at least a few songs at gigs, but it's their decision and I respect it. Leaving Steven aside, I can't believe they chose to continue having a drummer who (IMO) sucks at half of the songs when there are way better drummers to play the songs, like Brent Fitz who would have been really easy to get but again, I respect their decision, even if I don't understand it and completely disagree with them.

Back to Steven, he has all the right in the world to be upset if Slash doesn't believe him when he says he's been sober for almost 2 years. He's not blaming Slash, he just want his efforts to be recognized 'cause he's working hard to finally overcome his demons. But if you take a minute to read his interview, he's taken full responsibilty for his actions, said he's the only one to blame for what happened to him and that he did this to himself, not the other guys. He also mentioned how it took them like 10-11-12 months of being sober to finally be able to think clearly. He's gone a long way and is finally doing well, he just want the other guys to acknowledge it instead of putting him down.

One last thing, none of us wanted Slash or Duff back in GNR because of what they've done in VR, SMKC or Loaded. I personally wanted them back because GNR is their band as much as Axl's and because of what they had done IN GNR. Same goes to Steven and Izzy, I want them back because this band never sounded as good to me as when those five guys were together, not because of Steven's infectious smile or because Izzy is a cool gypsy. Still I'm not complaining about how the band's doing, I'm really happy overall. I just don't understand why some people claim we don't have reasons to want these guys back when we clearly have our reasons whether you share them or not.

    Tremendous applause1

"At this point in time, I will not be playing at any of the April 2016 GNR shows,"

That's a quote from rolling stone itself. He said only the April shows, he also said "at this point in time". It's not like Izzy is banned from anything GNR related, I think gnr wants him to work but he's on strike. Hopefully both sides can work something out.

OK! I was thinking about his first tweets, when he texted "at this point". Well, Fortus is in for the summer tour anyway... hope to see the guy as a guess and then step forward for the place.

You have to remember that Duff and Slash took the risk to fire Scott Weiland, one of the most respected rock singers, out of their band because of his drug related problems.

Do you think that after taking such a drastic decision and after the mess that was GnR for the last twenty years, they would bet on Steven Adler for an entire tour ? They didn't even bet on him for their personal side-projects during that time gap.

It's sad but it is what it is. When you are a professional musician and you get to play at that level, you don't risk losing it all on someone that inconsistent.

I'm not sure if Weiland was a respected singer. His own band fired him... twice.

The majority of people who are going to be buying tickets to see Slash and Axl don't care who the drummer is either.

I do care about who is going to be the drummer, specially if the drummer is Ferrer. Another thing is since we have Axl, Slash and duff we don't complain too much about the others. If we can't have the original line up, the big 3 is enough.

He was now clean/sober and had to see his friends kill themselves on a daily basis, there were riots because Axl was late or whatever, they were spending millions of $$$ on music videos, he's asked to sign a contract which made him a hired hand even though he wrote the songs, he turns up in Chicago (sober) to work on UYI and finds the band in the usual disarray, the band takes so long to release UYI that Izzy can't even remember the songs they've worked on because they were recorded so long ago etc ...... Go read his interview in Vox 1991 (before he even quits Guns) and you can tell already that he was ready to checkout because of the superstar bullshit that seems to be the polar opposite of what Izzy stands for.

    THIS!

What would you do if you are clean and your friends are always with drugs around you, your best friend in the band is rioting or being late the whole fn' time, you are asked about being a hired hand when you have written a huge amount of GNR anthems? That tells me a lot about Izzy's personality.
