Talked to a woman after the first vegas show who used to book their tours in the 90s. She said axl has 3 mortgages to pay. Dont know how accurate that is. She also said money is the main reason for this. But i dont wanna believe her

You should, money is always the main reason for these things. But not the only one.

I think Izzy probably just doesn't care or practice much anymore. I assume he still plays a lot of acoustic stuff since he posted those videos, but I doubt he's playing electric everyday (and those are two very different instruments, I don't care what anybody says).

Also, I know Slash wanted Fortus but for which band and what year? The Conspirators?

The man has recorded like 11 albums since he left the band... I think is pretty obvious he plays every day.

Echoes, Silence was the only album where I felt they tried to explore a different thing a little bit for the first time and I was hoping they continued that direction, but then they followed up with Wasting Lights which could have been a 90's FF record. It's a great album, but nothing new. And yes, the first FF album sounds not very different from, let's say Wasting Light. Of course the musicianship is different because he played all the instruments on the first album and now they are a tight band, but the music itself isn't really different.

It's the same genre, style, formula... Look at other bands that have been around for so long... they really experimented and tried different things... Foo Fighters started experimenting with how to make a record, different studio approaches and gimmicks like that, but the music has always been more or less the same. Listen to bands like The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead, or whatever, they really tried something else and evolved... you can't say that about the music in the Foo Fighters. I'm not saying they suck, I like them, but they haven't exactly evolved musically much over the years. And that's ok, they don't have to, I personally would have liked to see that, but I guess that's just not their thing as a band. Oh well.

I know that you weren't saying they suck. You can't compare Radiohead with FF, IMO. Foo Fighters is a rock band, radiohead is not. I think that their records have evolved, of course is still rock and some of the songs might be similar but I think there's an evolution in each one of them. Take the las record for example, it has nothing to do with wasting lights or Echoes.

That's one of the things I don't like about the Foo Fighters... they haven't evolved much. Compare one of their 90's records to their latest records Wasting Light or Sonic Highways... it's good, but it sounds almost the same. There's nothing wrong with not evolving and making the same kind of records all the time, but I like to see a band that has been going for so long to experiment more and not stick to the same sound and formula on every album.

wow, you really think that FF first record sounds the same as Wasting Lights? Or Echoes, silence...? If so, I strongly recommend you to listen the FF again.

But there is/was space for Layla, new Rose, the Seeker, wish you were here, the pink panther theme, beautiful by Christina Aguilera... Sure. Slither, Set me free and Fall to pieces fuckin sound like post 1993 gnr songs...

I think is pretty obvious why there's no place for a VR song in a GNR set. Those that you've said are medleys or covers that introduced another song.

He's a monster drummer but I don't think Foo Fighters are a great band even objectively. Music is okay I just don't identify with Dave or the lyrics. The average guy just never appeals to me because I'm average, I want to see a meglomaniac asshole stick it to the man. Or at least bring some fiah. I don't need a sound track to my mediocrity. I want the devil to be raised and burned. Angel Dust, In Utero, CD, Holy Bible, Sonic Temple, Rust In Peace!

Maybe I'm not objetive, but look the evolution of FF sound during this 20 years. He might not be one of the best guitar players, but he's for sure a hell of musician.

He might, but because of his sobriety, or lack thereof, he's not an option so there's no point in debating whether or not he's better than Frank.

I've seen Adler alive couple of times and plays AFD songs like nobody. He can play.

While you're talking about Steven replacing Frank on a tour this size you have to talk about his sobriety. Great drummer but there's more to being a great musician than playing great. You have to be reliable too! Anyway! it won't happen, not while there's a question mark over Stevens head.

Would love to see him up there at some point though, just can't see him ever being full time though.

Well, I know is very difficult right now frank leaving the band, what I meant is ferrer sucks in some GNR songs and I dont think Adler or Sorum would have the same problem with CD songs...

Axl doesn't like Matts style of playing, he has said it before. And Matt and Axl don't seem to get on that well. That's the end of the story for Matt.

Steven - plays well, but his sobriety is still a question mark, is he still sober?, is the back injury real? Could he handle everything that goes with a tour this size? he hasn't done anything close to this size in 25yrs. Could he play CD material? yes. I just don't see a good enough reason besides appeasing the fan base for GnR to bring Steven in for more than just a guest slot here and there. Too much risk, like a lot of other people have said before. Even Eddie trunk, who is a friend of Adler has his doubts about his sobriety and if he could handle being involved or not being involved. I just thinking having someone who's that fragile involve would be a mistake at this point. If he looks good in years time? and he hasn't had a slip I think he'd be a more attractive prospect.

I can't see a full time situation of Frank and Adler sharing the drum position though, guest spot at the most.

I'm not talking about the sobriety, Steven has a particular sound that fits in GNR like no other drummer in GNR.
