I had no idea that Axl was feeling any love for Slash in 2006. I really hope that someday... we get the full story on what happened between them, and why it took so long to bury the hatchet. I'm surprised that Slash didn't reach out to Axl in 2006, surely he was aware of the quote.

Apparently he was abrasive/abusive, to the point that band members and management were pushing Axl to dump Tommy, though I'm sure a potential reunion played into the management side of things. Bumblefoot has talked about the abuse he received when he joined, though I don't think he called anyone out by name. And then at some point Tommy threw down his bass, yelled fuck you at Axl and walked offstage. Allegedly.

To be fair, the situations aren't really comparable... it's a band he's never played with and songs he's never sung

According to the video with the orthopod (posted 4/8), the plan was to start putting weight on it after 4 weeks so I'm guessing the cast is either going shortly or already gone. They'll probably switch to a removable soft cast or some such

Izzy also didn't show up to the studio, video shoots, rehearsals or to do press and was no longer writing with the band. It wasn't just Axl who was ticked.

The band introductions from Tokyo, Paris and one other place (I think it was Chicago) are available on youtube and Axl always skips Slash. Do you guys think this was a respect thing like "you're a main man too so you don't need an introduction like me", or was it because they already hated each other to the point where Axl couldn't even utter his name during the intro? Hate to bring this up when things seem to be going so well with GNR now, but I'm curious!

 

Slash was usually introduced separately - before a solo section or a showy intro - but he was alwasys introduced

Yeah but again, Marc didn't even know Axl & Slash were speaking, much less planning a reunion. Just like with Vicky Hamilton, this may be intentional disinformation...or it may not.
