"There's zero possibility of me having anything to do with Slash other than by ambush, and that wouldn't be pretty. In a nutshell I personally consider him a cancer and better removed, avoided and the less anyone heard from him or his supporters, the better." - Axl Rose
I guess opinions change.
Maybe he was actually ambushed and someone's forcing him at gunpoint to act happy and friendly with Slash and Duff, and that's the reason for the "reunion".

The entire month of April. The GNR museum brought me back to the 80s in 2016, which is ridiculous and awesome, since I didn't even exist back then.
Also the Patience trailer video. That felt so magical, almost like returning to the warmth of your home after a long absence. Cheesy, I know, but I remember thinking "Finally!" when I first saw it. Extremely satisfying stuff.
The Axl/DC London gig gets an honorable mention for me, because of Slash and Duff going to see their friend make one of his dreams come true and absolutely kill it.

Brain > Sorum
Well, to his credit, Matt played drums for the band's two biggest albums after AFD and his inclusion did keep the band together, since it forced them to finish writing and recording the songs. Not to mention the tour (and no matter how high he was, he still played perfectly, without any mishaps). Axl used to say he was a breath of fresh air when he joined GNR and Slash and Duff love his playing, so... He has a lot of integrity in that regard.
Frank, on the other hand, can't really pride himself on that much, can he? Your comparison with Pitman isn't well-placed, because Matt did keep Guns together and had a huge input in the songwriting and touring, while Pitman was like a bad case of lice.

Uh...first of all, not every picture in the universe comes out perfect and tabloid-ready, especially with awkward people like Axl (in the sense that he didn't have a very good idea how to express affection, both physically and emotionally), and every celebrity/model photoshoot produces thousands of pictures, of which they publish only the best.
Secondly, making extreme conclusions like "he was only in love with Erin", "he and Stephanie just lusted after each other" or "he didn't look comfortable around Erin" are pointless. He was in love with both of them (TIL, Sweet Child, the DTJ dedications, the lawsuits, etc.), we have no idea who he loved more (probably Erin, but again, we just don't know because we can't read his thoughts).
As for reciprocation, well, Erin truly loved him, while Stephanie probably only wanted his money and his...- 7

I didn't think it was possible, but Baz's revelations have made me fucking love Axl even more. He is an angel. Very fitting, in fact, that he sang Fallen Angel as the SCOM intro way back when. He's just a completely unpredictable beautiful puzzle made up of sharp yet fragile glass pieces... And those glass pieces are the solidified tears of an innocent ginger child from Indiana. *sighs*

Am I the only one that actually likes Cornshucker? It's just a silly crappy session song and they were having some fun. Kinda like Axl and My World, only Cornshucker actually has great music which makes it listenable. And even if it is based on true events (which is most likely the case), it doesn't affect me in any way, shape or form so I see no reason to dislike it. Same thing with It Tastes Good, Don't It and to some extent OIAM (albeit for different reasons) and ISE.
People could use some, as Melissa would put it, "chill".

A-FUCKING-MEN! At this point I'm going to fly to one of their shows just to hold a protest sign saying "Eastern Europe never ever wants to see you fuckers live, so don't bother coming" to spite Axl and make him do the opposite.

I'm more confused in that thread than Axl is confused about his sexuality.

Adriana Smith made it sound like Axl dragging Slash into bed with him was something that happened quite a bit.
So Slash probably had good reason to be paranoid when Steven told him he'd had sex with Axl All these times he must have woken up in Axl's bed (or their shared bed in the storage space), not remembering how he got there... Poor guy lol.
Please, he wanted it. It's not rape if it's consensual.

Frank really fucks up the ballads, yes, especially Estranged. I always feel like Slash is struggling to keep up with his insane (and not in a good way) drumming during his solos, which is ridiculous since what makes the solos on this song perfect is their melody and flow. Sorum's opening fills (I don't remember what he called them but he mentioned people made fun of him for overusing them) are iconic on NR and Don't Cry as well, so changing them up to show off or whatever the hell he thinks he's doing, is moronic to say the least.
The other songs are for the most part fine, with the exception of Jungle and OTGM.

Yes! Anything goes live please. And I think they will try to get Izzy no matter what for atleast one gig. Money doesnt matter at this stage of the tour anymore they all made a fortune. Just no way it wont happen. And hope Steven drums for the whole show if they play AFD in full
Imagine 55 year old Axl singing "panties round your knees with your ass in debris". Yes please!
But yeah, they're probably going to get Izzy and Steven for at least one show to mark the anniversary. I can't see them joining full-time.

Oh great, telling Axl what to do. Now that's exactly what he won't allow, never. Thanks a lot Rolling Stone.
Oh, he might allow it, just 20 years of fuming + a negative bank account later.

Yeah we all want to hear Slash play the shit out of that Les Paul, but think about it - wouldn't you prefer if he played the shit out of said Les Paul on a new song instead of Layla?
13 hours ago, cqleonardo said:why people love izzy so much on stage, i just dont get it
They don't love him on stage, they just want him in the band. Because GNR fans can never be 100% satisfied. I personally don't want him to play with them as much as I want him to get in the studio with them, since it's his songwriting that he's renowned for.

Yep, they sound the same. I've always figured it's the band's way of playing You're Crazy without Axl struggling to rasp through it.

This is ridiculous and way too immature and mainstream for grown-ass men to do. And the only reason they did it was to get on Mexico's good side. GNR haven't been anti-establishment since the 80s, so if it was Killary that was chosen, they'd be licking her ass and not batting an eye at all the evil she's done as well.
Now who's spreading hate, violence and restricting tolerance? Because it seems to me it's the pissed off democrats who whine about a democratically elected president. Are you people really that fucking ignorant that you can't see you're doing the exact same things you take (unsubstantiated) pride in criticizing?

Fuck yes, R&L isn't a GNR type of festival imo. Muse are a better fit for it.
Though a much better opener for Japan would be Sherbets or some other band of Kenichi Asai's, like Jude. Babymetal is shit.

Though I have to agree with @SerenityScorp, from the little I've seen (I'm not very up to date on these matters anymore) it really isn't all about relationship drama and fucking these days. There seems to be a lot more short novel-like stuff with all kinds of plots and from all kinds of genres. I've been meaning to read that Victorian era England horror story that was recently posted, but haven't gotten around to it.
Same. Speaking of rockfic, does anyone have any clue about what happened to the author Sophia's stories and if they still exist somewhere? Cause I remember she had some actual well-written plots (a rarity) and specifically a fic based on Wish You Were Here, and I can't seem to find it anywhere. It says they were deleted.

Awwww Axl, poor baby. I wanna cry and give him a hug. Seriously, with these constant reminders about how awful his life was, it's impossible to judge him for the models or TB etc. I hope he's really solved all these issues - it seems so judging by the past year, but... you can never be sure with this problematic man.
Is Guns N' Roses your favorite band?
