It's funny how times change. 2 years ago if you were given the option of having Slash and Duff back on the condition of having a female keyboardist join the band you'd all be like "So, you mean we get Slash and Duff back! AND on top of all that... Pitman is gone? FUCK YEAAAHHHH!!!!" *passes out with happiness*

But now you've all assimilated. It's all "she's useless and has stupid hair Waaaaahhhh!"

Back in 2006, Axl looked and sounded amazing. Intact now when I look back at some of those performances by Axl I am absolutely blown away but I still remember people were cribbing about Axl's performances and comparing them to the 80's. Now the same people crib about the current incarnation and praise the 2006 performances.

Enjoy what you have. Nothing lasts forever.

That is the notion I get around here. I wasn't following the band closely at the time he was in it but I obviously saw a few videos here and there. I don't have a lot to go by but out of the dozen or so CD era guitarist he bothered me the least. Then again people talk a lot about Paul Huge but I don't recall anything overly annoying about him. I used to watch that RIO show quite a bit.

It was his fake persona and his inabilities that pissed most people off. He didn't fit the band whatsoever, image or sound wise. CD has a few great songs, yes, but it had nothing to do with Ashba. He even got Axl onto that Ashbaswag crap which was just the worst thing ever.

I'm so happy to see Slash and Duff back, I had completely given up on GUNS after 2006-2007 until 2016.

So I guess those drum sticks way back when truly were Steven's and this was all part of the original plan. I was starting to believe that the back surgery thing was some type of cover up but hey, I guess it probably was true. Nice to see him in such good spirits and good touring shape! He deserves it 100% and I'm glad they've at least got him around even if he's not doing the full shows.

I was thinking that too and the fact that Steven isn't playing on more songs right now could be due to the recovery process after the back surgery, kinda like easing into the process again.
