Exactly. Nothing on CD rocks as hard as this. I really wish we heard Chinese Democracy as it was originally conceived w/ Sean Beavan before the cavalcade of producers got their hands on it.
This.

Brain is the best drummer GNR ever had.
Brent Fitz is ok.
Frank is doing alright, but I'd have liked to have seen Matt get the job.

I've met Duvall and he's a gent. Cantrell is cool too, but quieter.

1) Honestly Dies'! That response was the next step down from 'neeeurgh, so's your Mum'
2) No, I am 100 million percent sure, I am talking about Queen, y'know Queen, with the Indian poof with the tache and goofy teeth and the leotard? That one yeah. The one with the guitarist whoose hair looks like he's been in a spin dryer? That one. The 'bring ballet to the masses' band. Yeah, that one I'm suprised at you really, as someone who has never been found wanting in the crusade to take the mickey out of the effete and poncey that you'd let a collection of massive quims as Queen get away with it.
Really though, bag of shite
There's absolutely nothing wrong with femininity or homosexuality. I'm not really a fan of Queen though.

Awesome. There will always be detractors. But, even if he does just the full tour and stops at that, from a legacy stand point alone - Axl will have really swung for the fences and hit it out of the park with this one.
This must be immensely satisfying for Axl. He took a huge chance and it's paying off. Imagine filling stadiums all over the world with two iconic bands. Nobody else does this. Nobody.

I know that Bon used to play the bagpipes when he was in school, either in Scotland or as part of his upbringing as an emigre' in Oz. But I think that Axl has enough musical ability to learn the bagpipes to play just one song - if they get a crew of bagpipers in to accompany them it would just be a great visual spectacle (unlikely, but we can always hope).
But, they havent sung it live since 1979, and if the real reason that Angus doesn't do this song is out of respect for Bon then Axl will have to really try hard to convince him. Bring out the Scottish kilt and do a dedication to Bon.
The bagpipes are really hard to learn. It takes a long time and generally has to start in childhood.

He even mentions in one of the clips that he really sucked on the first rehearsals, and Angus told him to keep trying. He also says that he finally understands the benefits of rehearsing, but is glad they are over.
I hope he's learned. Nobody expected him to sound this good; and even though he's 54 and a bit chunky and was considered a lost cause by the public, he's winning back the global spotlight again. He's probably the biggest rockstar in the world right now. The chances of that happening were slim. Very slim.

Tommy is indeed a badass. If you don't have his Bash & Pop record you should definitely get it. A overlooked classic.
This. Never Aim to Please is a hell of a song.

Thanks a lot. Tommy is a badass, whatever anyone thought of those line-ups.
The leads are a mess, and the drums aren't great, but this is pretty good.

Does anyone have a link to Going Down? Thanks.

The lukewarm reaction to the (pretty rubbish) new single by the Stone Roses should be a warning about how new material should be approached carefully.

You all seem to be forgetting that he was singing after he broke his foot at the Troubadour.

I remember Alice Cooper once saying years ago that Axl Rose was a pretty good golfer. No joke.
How did Slash agree to play all these Chinese songs?

I couldn't agree more. I really don't want GNR to play Anastasia.
