I just finished listening to the Chinese Democracy album for the first time. I'm impressed. Bigtime.
Seein' as I hooked up Richard with a guitar that he used on that album, I should have listened to it long ago. Yes, I feel stupid for waiting so long.
Kickass record. There are some brilliant moments on it.

Richard is without a doubt the next best thing to Izzy and maybe an even better choice at this point in time. He's an undeniably amazing musician. He plays with a ton of emotional energy and I myself think he has a really cool stage presence. He's put in the time and effort to earn his place in GN'R and totally deserves to be a part of all this.

Hate for Fortus is hilarious. The dude doesn't try to show anyone up and never takes Slash's spotlight. He's a great player who adds to the show. He's your best option outside of Izzy.

Dude had to refuse gigs with David Bowie and Nine Inch Nails before...I think he's pretty comfortable regarding his career.
Richard moves too much for your taste ? At this point, all the complaining really starts to sound like confirmation bias : you are ruining your own experience and it's frankly hilarious.Yeah, Richard is an A-list rock guitar badass. I've known him about 15 years. (I hooked him up with the Fernandes Sustainer guitar that he used on Madagascar on their MTV return appearance back in the early 2000's. He told me that Axl liked the sound of that sustainer feature so much that he had Richard add some overdubs with it to Madagascar on CD.) In addition to his musical talents, he's one of the coolest humans you will ever meet, famous or not. Being in the same room listening to him check out guitars is a mind-bending experience. Yeah, he's THAT good.
Now, do I feel that Slash and Fortus are an official "Guitar team of doom"? HELL YES. I hope these 2 have a long lasting and very productive partnership. Those 2 can accomplish much. I hope to choose to. Izzy's not here. That was his choice. Even with Izzy IN the band, Slash is the guitar god. We all know that. Fortus is a bad mofo, and I'm glad that Slash has another guitar partner worthy of his talents.

According to the rumours, Forus wrote TONS on material post chinese democracy for Guns N' Roses.
Everything between 2005 and 2014 has Fortus all over the place : Lead parts, solos, riffs, rythm parts, arrangements and even several songs.
Slash may work on Richard's stuff.
It's better for Guns N' Roses, for the BAND, to have 2 great players who can express equally each other : look at the "Wish you were here" jam, Slash and Fortus both share the Leads and the result is sensational.
Giving Fortus a bigger space, a bigger role will be better for the BAND.
That's what's all about : beeing a BAND, Slash isn't in his solo band anymore and Fortus is not Gilby, it's not like Slash is playing with a guy like Gilby who has no technical skills (I love Gilby but come on... Fortus destroys him all the way)
Richard is almost a guitar hero by himself. The guy is like Jeff Beck. Give him more space. He is too talented not to get a full spotlight.
YES. I think the way the solos are allocated for this tour makes sense in this lineup, I mean Slash is the iconic guitarist in GnR, BUT... I hope they do a new album where Richard can get some more solos in. Then if they toured on THAT, you could give Richard more space without stepping on the vibe of the classic GnR tunes. Slash's 1 octave lower intro to CD gave the tune more balls and a more sinister vibe. CD was fucking amazing, going from a ripping Slash solo to a ripping Fortus solo. I really think Slash enjoys Fortus being in this lineup.

I'm surprised that the arena didn't burn down when Slash and Fortus went to town on RQ.

I wouldn't mind a Live Era 2000-2012 (with mostly Bucket stuff, some Bumble, and nothing by Ashba).
And... a "reunion Live Era" album with these gigs.
And... new music!
Is that too much to ask?!
I can live with that!

Fortus might be the only one of the nuguns era band that actually feels like he belongs in guns n roses. He actually has that attitude and background, style of playing, he doesn't feel like a hired hand. He fits guns n roses better the Gilby Clarke did. God damn Richard is awesome and I'm glad he's still there.
Yep. Fortus deserves to be there. No doubt about it.

Same here, and I'm not saying that because I know Fortus. This lineup is Led Zeppelin level.

Damn, Slash's tone is incredible. It's back to being crystal clear as opposed to that farty mud that was coming out of his amps before this tour.

I'd love to see a 2 DVD set released: live show with Guns and a live show with AC/DC. Even in the age of downloading, they'd sell a ****load of those. I'd sure as hell buy that.
