Part of me wants as close recreation of the Appetite/UYI spirit/songs as possible because that’s the magic recipe that made Guns N’ Roses what they are but I also recognize that Izzy, a major part of that era, is highly unlikely to be involved and that times/people have changed. I saw iconic bands come up with some real stinkers after taking long breaks and I saw others re-invent themselves and put out killer records. Hope it’s the latter with GN’R. They certainly got talent to pull it off.

No opening act?

Just noticed that more seats became available in the lower sections, but Ticketmaster raised the standard ticket prices from $300 to $350 (+ fees). WTF?!

I think that most people are biased towards what they've heard first, at least to a small degree. I got into GN'R in the 1990s and the first songs I've heard were from UYI... They were freaking great! Who was doing the drumming was the least of my concerns. The music sounded awesome, so I assume Matt did a great job!

Whatever It wouldn't make sense for the band to play Get In The Ring again anyway, mostly because of the lyrics.
I hear you, they'd have to re-adjust the "...And in this corner, weighing in at 850 pounds; guns n' roses!" line by at least a couple hundred pounds.

When it comes to europe and roudiest crowds it's Italy, Spain & Portugal. They pale in comparison to the South American crowds which heavily feature Italian, Spanish & a Portuguese fans.
In other words Latin fans are the roundest .
With Aussies & Asians not far behind. Great Britain, German & French crowds are certainly great and better than USA but they trail those aforementioned crowds. The Canadian crowd is bettet than the USA crowd. Pains me to admit it but USA has the worse crowds globally.?
From watching a few clips, the Zurich crowd looked completely dead. Not sure I agree about the US, it varies from city to city.

Alright, this was fun. Going to try calling my buddy in Imola. He's been unresponsive for the past 2 hrs. I'm guessing he's receiving a CPR and mouth-to-mouth from his gf right now... Thanks for the links/vids, everyone! Chao!

For all the talk of aging, Duff actually looks better today than in the 90s.

Is it just me or does Axl sound better today than in the last couple of shows?
-
Thanks everyone for uploading the vids. Hopefully we get some more close-ups. Can barely hear Axl over the crowd from all the way back.

Any overhead pics of Gold Circle? Just wondering what it looks like.

Wow, crazy crowd! A buddy of mine is still on the way to Imola, but he's got Gold Circle tickets, so should have a decent view regardless.

All good, we ended up on the same side. My friends managed to grab a pair of PIT tix just before the latest batch sold out. Phew...

not sure why they would pick a band like our lady peace or billy talent. i get that its a canadian band but i dont consider either of those two bands as even really being the same genre as gnr. who has the final say on this shit? the promoter? when baz opened in 2010 well that made sense. this really doesnt... not going for the opening act so i couldnt give two shits if they just played talk radio before gnr's set but our lady peace certainly doesnt give me the urge to stand in line 5 hours for the rail... im actually starting to wonder if they pick shitty bands on purpose in certain cities so that the crowd isnt all riled up in case axl shows up late
LOL... You think they would've learned after the "Pigeons of Sh-t Metal" incident...

they put another block up for sale again...I grabbed a ticket for hubby now
Cool, the Right or the Left side? My friends are looking to pick up a pair and I hope we won't end up on the separate ends of it.

Damn it, I wish it was Royal Blood!

Looks like they're almost sold out of the PIT, just 1 ticket remaining... So I don't think they've increased the PIT size, just sold it in blocks (right then left sides). At least, that's my hope.
