    They weren't demos, they were just low-quality compressed leaks.

    The official version of The General is the same performance as the leak. Slash and Duff play on the leaks and they play on the version released today.

    Ohhh okay. Thanks for the clarification. I was under the impression the leaked versions were more village sessions leaks. The sound like demos. I can’t believe those are final versions of the songs. Lmao awful

  2. Things I’m hoping for:

    A properly mixed/mastered version of Ain’t Goin’ Down

    Alternate mixes of the songs recorded during the Illusions sessions that ended up on the Spaghetti Incident, but with Izzy’s original guitar tracks intact instead of Gilby’s overdubs. I’m not sure which Spaghetti Incident songs were recorded during the Illusions sessions and originally had Izzy playing on them, but I’ve always heard it’s at least a few songs

  3. After hearing Hard Skool, I’m really nervous the new album is going to kinda suck. I’m sure the songs will be solid, but Absurd and Hard Skool are mixed like crap. And Frank’s drumming on Hard Skool…. yikes. I know the guy is a good drummer but he simply does not vibe with this band. I don’t really get what Axl’s thinking insisting they use him

    That was an alt. version that was b-side on the second release of the WTTJ single.

    Oh okay. Do you happen to know during which session it was recorded? Around the same as Lies? Or earlier, like '86? The reason for my confusion is because on disc four, it's sandwiched between the Live like a Suicide and Lies tracks. So I'm guessing it goes with the Lies tracks?

    You talking about the (west coast junkie) version? Well it's on the L&L recording right? So it must be Sound City Sessions. I assumed it was West Arkeen and a bunch buddies singing. Kind of like when they did Drunk Fux. Just a mix of whoever was there.

    My apologies, it's actually the acoustic version of You're Crazy that I'm wondering about. Three versions appear. Sound City 86' Demo, the Lies version, and a version which appears on disc 2, track 6 of the 4-disc set.

  6. I noticed a third acoustic version of Move to the City* included in the set. Not the Lies ‘88 version and not the Sound City demo... but another acoustic demo. The one with mulitple people doing the countdown at the beginning. When was this track recorded? Which studio? Which batch of songs does it go with?

    * I meant "You're Crazy"

    Maybe Axl's embarrassed of the spoken words -part during the guitar solo. I know I would be if I was Axl. :lol:

    You’re thinking of the version of Don’t Cry from the Mystic Studios session. He doesn’t do the spoken part in the Sound City demo, which is what was omitted from the rest of the Sound City demos in the box set.
