  1. I'm excited too. ive been a fan since I can remember. one of my earliest memories of my entire life is being three years old in '88... watching the Patience video on mtv. I would watch mtv constantly waiting for it to come on. I got my first copy of AFD around 90 when I was 5.... and my love for the band only grew from there. I've never seen them live.... but I got tickets to their show in Dallas (Arlington) in a couple of weeks. absolutely cannot wait!!!

  2. Do you guys think the current re-union line-up will stay around for a long while? What I'm really asking is... are Duff and Slash official members of the band, like... really back in Guns N' Roses... or are they just "hired Guns" for the Not in this Lifetime Tour? Do you think Axl has learned the importance of having them back in the band, or do you think he would dare carry on again without them after the success of this tour? I've been wondering lately how permanent the reunion will be. I personally hope they put out a record... with or without Izzy... just anything, please! I'm also hoping the recent performance with Steven Adler made Axl realize how vital Steven's drumming is for the true GNR sound. I think Steven is perfectly capable of learning the Illusions and Chinese era songs... and it would be really rad if he came on full time, no offense to Frank. At this point... I think anything is possible.

Whether it was a "misquote" or not, it proved to be true. Axl can't even look at Slash without having a cheesy grin on his face these days. It was crazy obvious in the Axl w/ Jack Daniels storytelling video. It also probably factors into why Axl has made a complete 180 on his entire behavior.

which video are you talking about ? link?

  4. I read a quote from Axl in 2006 where he mentioned Slash, saying "I love the guy, but we haven't talked in the past 10 years"

I'm wondering why he would say he loves Slash and then, years later, go on to call him a "cancer..." and say things like "one of us will be dead before a reunion", "not in this lifetime", ect.

I had no idea that Axl was feeling any love for Slash in 2006. I really hope that someday... we get the full story on what happened between them, and why it took so long to bury the hatchet. I'm surprised that Slash didn't reach out to Axl in 2006, surely he was aware of the quote.

I don't think it's a hard rock song. Too much industrial sounding. If I want that, I'll go listen to NIN instead. Just not my type of music. GNR is a hard rock bluesy based band.

oh no, sorry, I wasn't saying My World is a hard rocking song... I was just saying... I've never cared for November rain simply because I'm more into their harder songs. I mentioned that to clarify why I don't like November rain in the first place. in addition to that, I like industrial stuff... so, Axl experimenting with industrial stuff is definitely more appealing to me than songs like November rain. sorry for the confusion!

"My World" better than "November Rain"???? WTF is this guy on? Wow! It's either clickbait or this guy is using his illusions. pun intended.  lol :)

I think my world is better than November rain. I've never been very into their ballads, I much prefer the hard rocking songs and I also have a taste for industrial music. my world is way more up my alley than a song like November rain.

  7. I have a soft spot for TSI. I was only like 8 yrs old when it came out... I had already  been into GNR for a few years and was obsessed with appetite, lies, and UYI 1&2. I remember asking my mom if she knew if GNR were ever going to put out a new album. she said she had no idea but she called Blockbuster Music. they informed her that a new album, the Spaghetti Incident, was about to come out in just a few weeks. I obsessed over it when I got my hands on it, and wanted to hear the originals. that's how I got into the misfits, which introduced me to punk rock... which changed my life, my way of thinking, the friends I chose, you get the idea. that album isn't the best GNR album, but I'll always love it for nostalgic reasons. I agree with the comments about the production on TSI vs UYI... definitely much better here.

I think he stayed out of the spotlight because his band and life was a mess. From being a homeless junkie, to multimillionaire rock star and then tour around the world, takes it´s toll.. especially when you have mental illness..

makes sense, I just admittedly don't know anything about what was going on in his personal life in the 90s... or even now, lol... just that he lives with that family. I'm not sure if or when he conquered mental illness, who his friends are, more recent romances if any, not much is known, right? so, I wasn't really aware that his life was a mess.

  9. i was watching that springsteen/ axl thing just now and i had this thought, something which has never occurred to me before. i'm new to this forum so forgive me if this has been discussed before, but i had this thought about why axl disappeared after 93/94. is it possible that he maybe felt threatened by alternative rock, which was huge and had taken over mtv by then? i'm wondering if he kept a low profile all throughout the late 90s because he was unsure of his place or relevance in the world of popular culture, so he opted to stay out of it completely by becoming a recluse. maybe he only felt comfortable again around 98 when numetal started to become more of a thing, which made rock "cool" again. that's when he started working on chinese democracy, yeah? i could be way off, but that makes sense to me.
