Awesome dude! Sounds like you had a great time. I don't think you'll have that same problem with the Australian shows though, as I imagine any 'pit' will just be to divide the crowd on the floor for safety reasons so will be much bigger than the pits in the states

Ok that makes sense. It was just one rather small pit in SF

I thought the NT presale was awful. I bought tickets the second it started for the Orlando show and ended up with seats all the way in the back lower level. Then when the general sale started I bought two more tickets, this time lower level much closer to the stage. I sold my original on TM for face value and lost the service charge fees. But, I really wanted pit. 11 days before the Philly show I checked tickemster and they had Pit! I bought those pit tickets and flew to Philly. Well, after being in the pit in Philly there was no way I couldn't be in the pit for Orlando. I checked everyday for pit tickets on Ticketmaster and nothing until about 5 days before the show, just for a second, 2 tix popped up and I grabbed them. I wanted to sell or trade off the two I bought in the resale, I listed them face value but no one bought them. The day of the show I tried to transfer them to someone on here for some shirts but they took down the transfer link before the show so I lost almost $600 on those tickets after fees. Moral of the story: do what it takes to get pit tickets.

The same bullshit happened to me, I tried for several weeks to get pit tickets. The only way I could buy one for San Fran was to pay Stubhub $400 USD. Ticketmaster had none for sale, only seats yet Stubhub had a shitload of Pit tickets.

    Thanks for sharing your experience

my budget for the tickets is 400USD. I know where you are coming from cause OZ has a big gnr fan base. So its better to take no chances

im still having 2 minds about the nightrain membership. I just dont have extra 45USD to throw it away. That money could be used for transport/food etc etc while im in Japan. So well lets hope for the best

I'm now back in Sydney and I see nightrain presale and VIP go on sale tomorrow.  In San Fransisco I was first in line at 3pm, gates opened at 5:30pm.  Yes I stood there for 2.5 hrs waiting.  While waiting I watched at the VIP people enter through their private door at 3pm.  I was fucking jealous.  When doors opened at 5:30 I got through security and ran to the pit.  The entire Slash side was already taken! I was pissed so I just went over to duff side and got the rail. Yay best spot as Slash moved a lot and he even pocked his tough out at me - see my video below.

So tomorrow I think I will just buy VIP Pit tickets, so I get the rail slash side.  Holding your spot for 5hrs was hard. They played at 8pm.

Here's me screaming my head off. I will upload Coma and Nov rain soon.

Yeah they do get sold through night train, but if you look at the US shows, the pit tickets are available at the General sale also, they don't get sold out at the presale. So I don't want to pay $45 extra just for getting the tickets early as I will only go to one show.

The presale tickets are usually good for people who want seats, you can choose the seats at a good price before any one does.

I just saw gnr in San Fran. I couldnt buy a pit ticket at all on ticketmaster website. My only option was stubhub and i paid $650 aus for it. I dont know why there were no pit tickets left but i think its cause they were all snapped up by Night train members. So just be careful incase this is similar for Aus concerts (may only occurred cause US pits were small) im flying out of San Fran tonight back home to Sydney, so will be getting a pit ticket for the Sydney concert.  If the pit is larger then probably no need to buy nightrain membership.

Are Australians really THAT hyped about GnR they are putting them to play 100k venue? Whoa??? Isnt it a bit large for concerts? MCG i mean...

We only really have 80k venues. We dont have baseball stadiums.  Bon Jovi and Foo Fighters were at the SCG in recent years, they had full stadiums.

Yes but honestly I wish I would have just bought it inside. I paid an extra dollar to the company and I had to walk to the other side of the stadium to get it. The gate I walked in to had a stand with everything I bought. So technically I could have gotten a better spot on the railing if I didn't walk to the other side of the stadium and back.

Ok I will not bother ordering then just purchase then and there. Thanks heaps. I need all this info as I'm flying 14 hrs to get to San Fran for this concert so I want a great spot in the pit!

I got there to the Nashville show about an hour or a little bit more before the doors opened and got a pretty good seat by the end of the cat walk after walking around to a couple places to pick up my online orders. The pits were very crowded unlike all the other shows were people had a lot of space so I guess it just depends how crowded it is and when you get there.

Thanks. When you order to pick up T-shirts at venue are the pick up locations inside?

I started lining up outside around 5 and gates opened at 6:30. I did go and buy some water at one point and since I kept the guy next to me's spot for him he did the favor of doing the same. That was near the beginning though so there was barely anyone in the pit besides those on the rail.

There was a vendor who was walking around the pit selling water and beer early on but he only accepted cash so I had to go out of I wanted to use my card.

There might be people who might lie and try to take your spot though so I personally wouldn't risk it unless it's an emergency, you're confident the person will save your spot or you don't mind finding another spot.

Oh and I also was alone in the pit so it would be different if you went with someone you knew.

Great thanks, that gives me ideas on what time to get there. Im solo hopefully someone will mind my spot if I need be, I'll buy them beer :)

Oh yeah I loved it! I was standing at that spot since the gates opened up until the show ended which was roughly six hours and that's not counting the waiting outside of the venue! I've never done that at a concert since I've only ever gotten reserved seats so I was pretty tired yesterday but it was so worth it! I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I was recording with my Sony RX 100 iii camera. The video doesn't seem to look as good on YouTube but on the camera itself it looks crystal clear. I have more footage but with the quality not being as good when I upload it I haven't gotten around to putting those on YouTube.

Thanks for posting.  What time did you line up to get in and what time did gates open? I gather you went to the bathroom at some point, did someone mind your spot?

Axl's voice is way better than Brian and Bon's. He's got an inmense range and he gives all AC/DC songs an extra tone because he's got so much voice inside he can't help it. The other guys are good singers but their voices have a limit. Axl's not only rasp, Brian is a long rasp all the way. Axl can use rasp and also clean voice and sustain the note higher and longer than the other guys.

I know AC/DC fans will hate this but Axl is much more than what AC/DC could have ever dreamed of.

    100% truth

    you are right

someone should have gotten gnr to rehearse and record every great rock song on the planet (from carol to back in black) during 1987-1991

yes, someone needs to record a SDB of axl/dc and acdc should release at least a live ep from this tour with rock or bust, back in black and thunderstruck on it

Axl always sung 'a whole lot a rosie' better than anyone. He sang it on stage during his early 20s - it's on YouTube.

He made a livelihood of his voice till the day the real gnr split. Even then we know he didn't give a sh~t about his voice, drinking and smoking whenever wherever. After that, he kept rolling in cash because people wanted to see gnr only BECAUSE ITS GNR, not because he sounded good. His shape has been going downhill for the most part of 15 years and he has sounded like sh~t for most of that time excluding a few good years here and there. So yeah, he totally knows what he's doing. Now he comes back and is giving 120%, he is singing good I agree, but watch the videos and the parts people noted out, he is cracking his voice, that should not be happening. That is a result of poor technique, namely screaming, and that NEVER leads to anywhere good in the long run.

What on earth are you talking about? Have you actually listened to CD album? It's really good.
